    I bought these initially for a use case hardly anyone ever mentions. I got them just so i can listen to my music in bed. This is something i can not do comfortably with my Openrun Pro's and I'm prone to ear infections, so regular ear buds are a risky endeavor. I tried them last night and they fit my use case nearly perfectly. It is noticeable when i lay on my side, but not too bad. When im flat on my back is when they are the most comfortable. These don't disappoint!

      @misx80 I've been able to lay on my side with these. There's a little discomfort, but not terribly so. You're milage may very depending on whether you can tolerate them or not.

      @@misx80So, I tried them out while I was sidesleeping, and one thing that stood out is the pillow situation. If it's a soft, cloud-like pillow, you're gonna love these because they didn't bother me one bit, which is pretty awesome given my long history of not being able to enjoy movies or music when I sleep on my side.

I wanna get these for work calls too and my current earphones (apple wired with mic) pick up everythinggggg at a very loud volume and I feel bad for my coworkers and I'm always stressing to make sure I mute/unmute. Hoping for some insight on this. Thanks for your help!

    I think I have the OpenRun, I think, they have updated 3 times since then. I got them for running and cycling and liked them so much I bought a second pair and use them at home. When one goes dead I plug it in and turn the other pair on. All my computer audio comes through them because they are so comfortable and sound so good. I don't like anything in my ears or over my ears anymore, unless I'm trying to block noise out like when I'm on a plane. The rest of the time I'm using my OpenRun headsets so these wireless earbuds intrigue me.

  • @skellener

    I wish they had multi device connections. Apparently you have to pair them each time. They don’t do auto handoff like from your phone to your iPad. Maybe an update can fix that?

    As a former runner and current cyclist, situational awareness of traffic & stray dogs is #1 for me. I bought a SHOKZ OPENRUN set at Costco 18 months ago. The connecting band around the back of the head doesn't go well with cycling helmets, hoods and winter hats. I ordered SHOKZ OPENFIT and look forward to the wonderful sound and function without the connecting band. Kudos on your excellent review. Don from Canada.

  • @Bruceneuman
    @Bruceneuman ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I do not need these and so the only reason I bought them is because of this review. Mark could sell me ice in the Arctic. I have lots of headphones and ear buds. Good ear buds, such as those from Apple and Bose, are great but I cannot keep them in my ears except with lots of adjustments and sometimes not at all. I hope I just did waste another couple of hundred dollars. Well, my ear buds arrived. Paired as soon as I opened the case. The App is very easy to use. Very easy to put on the ear buds. You really, really can forget you are wearing them. The sound in standard is OK, but once you choose one of the automatic eu settings in the app, the sound gets dramatically better. For someone who is not happy with earbuds in the ear canal, these are a revelation. For $179, I would expect pairing across more than one device - perhaps in a firmware update to come. By the way, mine quite automatically updated the firmware upon starting up. One small comment is that I think I am noticing a sync problem between audio and video. It is subtle but seems to be there. I have not used these for calling yet. All in all, these are a terrific set of ear buds. When I need NC, I can always put on my Bose, Sony or Apple over ear headphones. So, unless wearing traditional ear buds are not a problem for you, these are worth trying out.

      Hi mr bruce.
      Is the out of sync between audio and video tolerable? Like watching videos on TH-cam or watching movies? I have read online it has slight latency issue.

    • @badatsomerhing
      @badatsomerhing หลายเดือนก่อน

      @hafizfadzli556 The thing with audio/video latency is anything below about 7 ms for your eyes you likely won't notice. I mean, your eyes interpret stuff about 10 ms later than they happen anyways, and noise is a little faster depending on where it happens.
      I have some earbuds that don't have the greatest latency I've had, and they almost never become noticeable. Unless the earbuds don't sync, you probably won't notice for most media unless you're doing work on a video or musical media piece.

    If you are planning to buy this product, I suggest you go to a store with an open sample pair that you can try. The bass is distorted and the only way to listen to any music is to manually turn the bass down. I can’t recommend this if you are expecting a decent amount of bass. I’ve just returned mine.

    • @MarkEllisReviews
      @MarkEllisReviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you’re after lots of bass, you need to buy headphones or earbuds that are designed for that task.

    • @airWade.
      @airWade. ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MarkEllisReviews Like I said, OpenFit’s bass is distorted. I didn't have high expectations for a significant bass output, but the sound it produces is similar to that of a blown speaker unless you manually turn the bass down in EQ settings. Shokz's claim of providing an "Incredible Audio Experience with Powerful Bass" for this product is most definitely not accurate.

    While the sound is great, they dont handle sweat very well. The speakers gets blocked with loss of sound volume and/or quality as a result. Shokz costumerservice does not recognise this as a fault and say that "that is just the way it is" with openfit.
    So if you do tend to sweat when working out, choose another set of earbuds.

    At home, I used Bose SoundWear Companion - it was a decent experience, then I switched to Shokz Aeropex, then I tried Sony SRS-NS7 ... and let's be honest, they are utter tosh, right now I am using OpenRun Pro, but there is still something missing - the sound is ok for LoFi, they are comfortable-ish, but my head does not like those vibrations after few hours of listening.
    Might be even good in a car, as my car has one of those abysmal JBL speaker setups, it certainly can't be worse than that.

    You didn't wear them with glasses! I had a similar pair a few years ago and then I started wearing glasses - they don't go together, comfortably.

      I literally put them on while wearing glasses in the video (for which, they work perfectly).

    People can hear what you're listening to . That won't be able to tell who you're listening to but they will hear it .

    Finally got these. Sending straight back. I'd rather get run over than deal with that sound quality. And dont autopause when you remove. I'm sure for podcasts and audiobooks they are great, but for music, not for me.

    I had bought these...and can NOT recommend. Touch control is very bad. A drop of sweat will activate sensors causing you to have to remove buds, clean surface area, and reverse the action made my sensor.

      Any update on this comment? I am interested in buying these but I think this is a valid comment.

      @@demarcusstrange5213I haven't had an issue with the touch controls and apparently I don't sweat enough to set off the sensors. Very happy with these and surprised how good they sound.

      I'm a bike rider, 15-20miles daily, love these for what they are designed for. Very good not great bass sound, but all else is 100% on point

      @@demarcusstrange5213 the touch sensor is delayed and was mentioned in the manual - which means it's not an issue.

    Tried them on and aside from the comfort, I am not impressed with the audio. It sound äs great for its design but does not fulfil my Audio criteria

    If it is so comfortable, why is your ear all red? Hmmm...

    Just bought them. They're going back. The sound quality is not great. Limited volume ceiling. For $179. There are much better options available. Disappointed with these.

    Honestly, they aren't good at all. Bought them for work at the airport and can't heard my music or calls. So if you wanna waste your money buy them.

    Recently, I have bought one openfit.
    I'm really sorry for shokz, because this device with high price has not Noise canceling.
    The cheeper devices have Noise Cancellation.

    These suck, you have to pair them ALL THE TIME when you want to use them.
