Imagine a woman. Jobless. Hopeless. Homeless. Fighting adversity. Fighting life. She wakes up and looks at herself in the tiny mirror of the shelter's toilet. She is a bit untidy. She wishes she had a comb and a lipstick she can use to make her look better... probably, also happier. And one day, that big box arrived. And she got to choose from all those beautiful things. And you, will have contributed to lots of smiles in the faces of so many, many women, just by doing what you've just done. Lets say a lipstick can last a year or so. So, even when you have already forgotten about this single action of yours, there will be women whose lives will still be changed and moved because of you. And who knows, may be, only may be, that woman feels better, more encouraged that day, wearing that base and mascara, and that lipstick puts a smile on her face, and finds a job. Little actions make the world change. Tx 4 this. All my love. From Argentina, Lau
Laura L 😄 Yesss girl...THAT'S THE TRUTH! been that women and would've been so happy if I had gotten these things to make me more confident when at my lowest 😘 xoxo
I love this! Just feeling pretty or put together has such an effect on mood and mindset. That’s why I believe makeup is self care. If you feel good and feel beautiful then it’s great for mental health
Brands also need to stop sending entire lines of foundations. Come on... Jouer did the best with sending the few shades that should be best with small minis in case you wanted to swatch for your vids! Otherwise the waste is awful.
It’s freaking wasteful and unnecessary. I don’t understand why brands do that... they should send one- three items to each TH-camrs. That way more TH-camrs could also try the products. No one needs an entire collection. That’s totally absurd, it’s just creating more waste in the freaking world.
Lisa Locke Colourpop's doing the same with their new foundation, samples then three full sizes they hope are someone's closest shade matches.. makes 10x more sense.
Rose Ella-Grace I hope more companies pick up on that trend and decide to be less wasteful. If companies want to make a difference in the world this would be a start. We need less trash in this environment we live in, otherwise we won’t have a world to live in at the rate we are going.
They should do minis I agree but sending the whole range means the influencers get the exact shade they need and can donate the rest. It makes sense to me
Check with high school theatrical departments as well. As a teacher, I help with makeup for the school productions every year. I end up buying makeup out of my own money for all the performers. I would freak out if someone donated makeup for me to use for the student actors and actresses.
In case Kristi doesn't do the video showing what she kept I'll tell you, the Covergirl Healthy Elixir, ColourPop No Filter Concealer and the Jaclyn Hill Morphe Palette
The beauty influencer Thataylaa works with Project Beauty Share. They collect gently used makeup for women's shelters. I bet she has contact info in most of her videos. Anything your friends, family and other local outlets don't need would be welcome there.
I’m so glad someone else said this. I love what these youtubers are doing by donating to women in need. I know that makeup doesn’t seem like a necessity in the grand scheme of things but to someone that is interviewing for a job against other people with more resources, a face of makeup could give them the confidence to knock that interview out of the park. I live in a relatively rural area (population: 57,000) and I know that not many women around here wear a full face of makeup but in other cities that isn’t always the case. Project beauty share is a beautiful foundation and a wonderful platform for women in need. I love Taylor and I love that she’s really helped bring this nonprofit to light and I would love to see more people getting involved!
I used to volunteer at a women's, DV Shelter Kristi. Some of the women had to leave their home's in a hurry. Taking only, the clothes on their backs. I found them to be so brave. I was humbled. I was responsible for driving them to and from Dr.s appts, grocery store's, etc, & donation warehouses where they were each allowed, 1 bag of cosmetics, (Wal-Mart size bag) 2 bags of clothing, 1 bag of coats, jackets & 2 boxes of shoes. They were also advised to get some business clothing for interviews. It was quite organized. The warehouse had all the sizes labeled on each rack & shelf. Set up like Marshalls but much more organized and cleaner. The makeup that was donated had to be sealed. No exceptions. You are so right on about what they gather as their essential makeup. Concealer & Foundation were the first items chosen. I'll never forget how grateful they were to be building their wardrobe again. What you're doing is admirable and selfless. Spread the love girl.. 💚💙💜
Kat luvs Babes in Toyland WoW..that's amazing, I'm happy to see that for women! We need more places like that in US. I've been homeless with nothing and no help even tho i worked since 14. I was given temp slum hotel and 80$ a month and got back on my feet working walking, taking and waiting for 3 buses from 6am to be at work by 10am. I really wish they had something like that when i needed help bc anything at all helps!
Kat luvs Babes in Toyland I have been decluttering recently and want to donate all of my brand new makeup to a women's shelter. If you have any information on how to do this, please send me a DM on here or on IG. (I have the same on there.)I personally know someone who had to escape to a shelter, so these types of organizations are what I want to give to.
MissBunni Wow you're story is inspiring. I don't know where you live but I'm so sorry there weren't any programs to help you. But you did it on your own girl. You're a braveheart. That's what my dad calls me...😊
Some of these comments are so rude, cringeworthy and selfish, even the “joking” ones. Don’t forget, Kristy started out with hardly any makeup and she worked hard to get where she is; don’t put guilt on her for how she chooses to declutter/donate her things. She doesn’t owe any of us anything. We get to enjoy her free content, that’s what we get. If that’s not enough for you then you’re not here for the right reasons. ❣ ✌🏻
S. Steer I couldn’t agree with you more! Kristi made her family/friends and women in shelters her TOP priority to give makeup to. About 98% of the people who made those comments are just selfish and don’t actually NEED the makeup Kristi is giving away. They most likely have a job to pay for their own makeup but here they are trying to take away from women in actual need 🙄
The fact you got duplicates of some products just seems wasteful on the company's part. Do they expect you to constantly do giveaways or are they just not paying attention?
Elease James i reckon they want you to do give-aways. it prob means you are more likely to do a video on a brand if u can share some of it with your followers.
Prob a little of both I don’t think they keep files on individual influencers and keep track of who got what because multiple people work in PR departments.
You sound SO sad in this one! When I was little my mom tried to tell me that the things I owned weren't hurt when I passed them on, but I still struggled. I felt guilty for the item (since I was not convinced they didn't have feelings), and guilty for letting down the person who gave it to me. Problem with that, besides my little baby emotions: my room was small, and I chronically lost things. Eventually I had to realize that keepsakes and/or random junk can't replace or embody the people or experiences they come from. Those still existed/happened/loved me regardless of whether I hoard the stuff they left behind or not. I don't keep things out of guilt or fear anymore and it's very freeing. Hopefully you'll feel lighter as you practice passing things on to better homes. ❤️
Annalise Snoddon Your comment is so sweet! I need to tell my son that, he has a really hard time getting rid of things. And just a random thought, I have a hard time throwing anything in the trash that has a face lol, it’s kind of a rule of mine. It’s funny how we humanize items, and I know they don’t have feelings, but I’m still not doing it!
So many influencers are decluttering recently and I’m so into it. I love it. The crazy amounts of makeup make my heart happy. I can absolutely understand you holding onto it. I wish I had a tiny fraction of this. Such a cool job to have. I love that you are so concerned about sending this stuff to people who need it. You’re such a phenomenal human being. 💗
Imagine this: companies don’t waste every single shade on every single influencer above 80K subscribers and actually LOWER their prices for us normal people. Crazy right?
Chiara Cami yes I agree! No shade to any influencer but I always thought like really what are these influencers gonna do with 40 difff shades of foundation, from like multiple brands lol
Every company has money in their budget for advertising. Believe it or not, it pays off for companies to dish out free makeup to influencers. Yes I agree, makeup can be heavily overpriced but giving away makeup for artists to highlight is part of their business process and why they are successful as a company. It can actually be a risk as well. If you want lower prices, there are companies who budget accordingly, and still have great products - for example NYX. :)
but what she's saying is no influencer needs every foundation shade. there is no point in sending someone like Kristi their deepest shades, or anything past maybe a light medium. it could save a lot of money that could be geared elsewhere is the point.
So, truly...TRULY not hating on some of the subscribers...I promise...there is NO WAY you can expect 1 person to sort through all of that make-up and box and mail hundreds of boxes to mail to you. I'm HOPING most of those comments were made in jest or fun. My first thought when I finished watching was: now THAT'S how you do a disclaimer...simply share how and where items are going and/or being donated to. Finally, a beauty vlogger that doesn't 'scold' saying "please don't ask me to send anything to you. I'm not selling these, either..." Yet...I will now be more understanding about that from now on. They do it for good reason. Lol Don't get me wrong...if Kristi would adopt me, I would totally let her...just for a chance to get to those goodies! Lol! (I keed, I keed Kristi...I promise...lol) Great way to do a declutter in this magnitude, Kristi! Good for you learning to let go and curating your make-up, as well as generously donating it. Love ya!
I had to stop watching PR unboxings. I feel like there's a huge lack of gratitude from some of the beauty influencers! You are obviously humble and grateful! I'm so happy for you! Thanks for sharing the love ..❤️
Kristi, I love you because you are humble. In the next few years you are going to become so goddamn insanely popular... please remain humble. It is so important for your mental health, your fans AND your marriage. I just love you.
I'm so happy you're donating all of this makeup. So many people are in for a treat! It's crazy that brands send so much makeup, even makeup that realistically won't work for you. I know so many upcoming beauty creators (myself included) would love to even have an opportunity to receive items from these brands, but won't get noticed due to numbers. It's really eye opening seeing all these declutter videos on how much beauty gurus really receive!
I think it's amazing to see how far you've come. You went from not being able to afford makeup to owning more makeup than a Sephora store. Lol. You go girl!!
Kristi, I have to say coming from an abusive relationship, knowing how I left and had to with two children, work full time, and stay in the shelter for several weeks. This is the best thing many of us can do for a woman who leaves and need to feel some of a normal life, to keep going and who work, and even just to pamper themselves. I had to start over, and that is a very scary thing in that situation, I have taken many of my extra items to my local women's shelter. Because I never forgot what all they did for me there, and the people who do donate, and how much you appreciate their help too. Even for any girls in high school, who might like to start into makeup, come from not much to start with themselves. I hope anyone who goes through hard times such as abuse leave, they won't change, the best thing to do is walk out and away, and start life all over again, and there is definatly always help, trust me you can do it, and you will be alright, you are stronger than you realize. I figure by chance if anyone see's this going through hard times, to know coming from someone who has been there. Have a good rest of the week!! xoxo
It's really nice to see beauty gurus donate makeup to charities. The sheer amount that gurus get from PR is more than any one person could use in ten life times. Kristi, you are so sweet and humble, and it's truly refreshing. All the excess would make me anxious too. This was awesome! You're so close to 400k now! 😘
Tbh, I never watch videos like this honestly because I get jealous, However I wanted to watch yours because I love tid content. About 7 years ago I got clean I was in jail, rehab, halfway house then transitional living. I wish there were places where people donated makeup and sanitation needs. But there wasn't, I come from a long line of addicts so I couldn't ask my family for help with these things. When you decide to get clean its almost like your completely stripped naked and just to feel good I want to put .makeup on. But couldn't afford it, I think by you giving to churches, shelters and such is amazing and coming from someone like me its appreciated. No I wont see it but I know what that need feels like. Now that I have almost 7 years clean I always go through my clothes and such to take to those places... great job Kristy❤❤👍👍
When I go through my makeup I think about “will I ever use this enough to hit pan?” And if it’s a no, it’s GONE. I would rather products be used and loved, and not have someone go out and buy that product brand new when I have a perfectly good version that’s unwanted. You did so well with your declutter despite how hard you are finding it to let these products go, proud of you xxxx
Shaniya Allan this is a good strategy. A strategy I use to make sure I don’t over consume is to wait a year after something is released and see if people still use it. If people still rave about it then I buy it because it stood the test of time. If it got decluttered after a month then I don’t waste my money. I’m just now gonna buy the Marc jacobs Dew drops and Jaclyn hill palette because I waited to see if people still used them and everyone still does. I haven’t been disappointed with a product in a long time since I started waiting to buy things. In the meantime I just use my current collection.
Don’t feel bad about giving it away. You would feel worse if it just went bad in your drawers. You should feel great about donating it as it will be used instead of being completely wasteful and never being used. It’s not like you are throwing it all in the bin. It’s going to a good place ❤️
I also have small/thin lips and watching youtubers often makes me feel that I‘m missing out and stuff. Watching you makes me so happy because you rock what you have and you‘re so real with it. Thank you💜
When I first started buying makeup I literally just bought things that interested me, even if I already had something in my collection. (i.e multiple eyeshadow palettes with similar color schemes, highlighters, etc.) My collection never got huge but I had multiples of everything and once I realized that it stressed me out knowing I had makeup I literally didn't use. So I decluttered what I didn't reach for and now I'm much more conscious of the products I buy, so I can totally relate to what you're saying!
Destri Tucker That has been happening to me lately. I just kind of stepped back and realized I buy things I truly do not need and end up only using for about a week. Plus watching all these makeup videos I think 'I need that' and lately I just realize I don't! Now I buy makeup I truly love and I know I will use to death.
Destri Tucker It is so easy to fall into that trap. Glad I’m in good company in hoarder rehab. 😂 I feel so much better have less waste & excess makeup.
In your job you have to declutter often. You can’t keep everything you receive from PR. I don’t have nearly as much as you but even I go through it and purge. You are doing a great thing by donating them. Don’t feel guilty.
It's a given that these kinds of videos inspire me to give more anytime I can. But these declutters also help me to 1) declutter even though my 'collection' is quite minimalistic, 2) shop much more conservatively bc I realize I really don't need so much and 3) feel more gratitude for what I already have, knowing that it is enough and won't become a burden to me if I get sufficient use out of it. Thanks for your generosity and heartfelt videos!
Honestly, I love watching decluttering videos! It gives me motivation to work harder to get to a place where, not only can I enjoy the possibility of getting on PR, but also being able to donate what I don't use to shelters. I've been that woman who had nothing, and it would've been amazing to have a program or the opportunity to get the help I needed to feel more confident. I love you, Krispi, and everything that you do!
I think it's also hard to get rid of stuff when you know what its like to have nothing. You appreciate everything you have. I feel you girl, it's hard for me to part with things as well ❤
I totally understand wanting to keep things based on sentimental value. It’s so hard because you feel like you’re throwing away memories and throwing away things you are grateful for. I’m so proud of you for reaching out and getting help from a friend and for learning to look at things in a different way. ❤️ Just think about how many woman you can help sending your used products to women’s shelters, how exciting and rewarding! Whether your makeup helps a woman prepare for her first interview after a difficult time, or helps her prepare for a first date after getting out of an abusive relationship, or even just giving her a boost of confidence on a rough day. Your willingness to donate your makeup could absolutely change a woman’s life and how amazing it is that you are blessed enough to be able to do that ☺️
Oh my, I totally understand how hard it is to let go of things. You are not ungrateful at all. You are actually quite amazing for giving all of this to those who can use it. It makes complete sense to do that. It's amazing to think of how many people will be blessed by your generosity!
I want to thank you for being so..human on here. You do not gloss over things, you do not pretend things are okay when they aren’t. I understand the anxiety of letting things go and as a self-taught makeup artist, makeup is so precious to me. I get where you are coming from. 💕
Cleaning things out and decluttering is such a freeing feeling! Love that you’re passing the extras on to your loved ones and to those less fortunate in your area. Because you’ve been blessed you are able to bless many, many others. The butterfly effect!🦋
I never seen a declutter video like this seriously Kristi you are so humble and down to earth. I loved the intro and i loved that Sam said the right things to you to motivate you to start the process and understand that this is just makeup and you will obtain more for sure since this is your job and passion. What looks unimportant to us is a lot to another person. We can never know what are the consequences of our actions. I am sure the makeup artist you mention prayed for something like this and you were the person to fulfill that prayer for her. The power of giving should never be underestimated.
Declutters are so satisfying. Thank you for sharing, I am such a fan of declutter videos (Jam Beauty was my first ❤). There are so many out there, and I watch them all!
You were able to get rid of so much!!! That's seriously amazing. And even more amazing it's going to a good home. Also, thank you for being honest about it being hard to get rid of stuff. I could see the struggle and hear the exhaustion in your voice, but I so look up to you for pushing through and helping others. You're an inspiration to me through and through for YEARS. Thank you for sharing!
Your explanation for your low key hoarding was very sweet. At least you get to make someone else's day so it's a win win. I try not collect highlighters but I still would like to try the Becca ones. Would love to see what you kept. 💜 💜
Kristi, I totally understand how difficult it is to give away the makeup. Even though I don't have as many boxes as you, I do have about 6 large boxes of products ready to go to others that will make good use of the products. It took all of me to set all the products aside. You are absolutely correct: why keep products that will go unused when there are others that can make use of them. You'll be helping many whether it's family, friends, shelters, or schools. You did a great job decluttering! Many blessings to you, beautiful girl! xo
You are such caring, loving person. You are so grateful for everything you have. I remember watching you’re Mexico Vlog and you were sooo happy and had the most grateful Vlog I’ve ever seen out of all of the sponsored trip videos I’ve ever watched. I love how appreciative you are! It’s unfortunately not as common of a trait you see in a lot of people in general.. love yah Kristi 💗
I really appreciate your honesty in this video, from explaining how hard it was to let this makeup go, to where the makeup is going, and giving details about why you are giving away certain products. I hate giving away anything I own, especially if it was a gift... even if I hate it. So I totally understand the guilt you may feel, but I think makeup companies exist to make people feel beautiful. And by passing along this makeup you are definitely accomplishing that with a larger range of people. Awesome video!
You did great! And so many people will be able to enjoy it all! Not everything works for everyone, so the fact that you’re sharing makes my little mommy heart so so happy. Sharing is being truly grateful.
Kristi, if anyone has anything negative to say about the amount of makeup you have, ignore them!! I have been watching you for a while now. I have watched you grow so much and I know that it's because you are such a hard of a worker! Don't ever feel bad about where you are because you DESERVE everything!!! You have worked you ass off to get where you are. You have touched my life so much and I mean that! I wish I could go a little into that but I don't like airing my laundry out like that. Lol. But, you personally have helped me get through some really hard times and I appreciate it so much! Just keep up the good work!! God Bless You, Girlie ❣️❣️❣️❣️ 💚💜💚💜💚💜💚💜💚
I love that you're passing these along rather than dumping like some youtubers do! I got a bunch of lightly used makeup recently, it's great for trying out new brands and colours!
I work with makeup retail and have done for 10 years. My collection is HUGE and I know just how you feel. We have memories and emotions conected to out makeup and while some might find it crazy, for us it's real and it is what it is. I have started to go through my collection more often and it is finaly at the point where I don't feel bad going through it. Good luck on your declutter, it wil feel great when you are done!!
I gave makeup to a women's shelter, women who have been abused and have very low self confidence. They will have to get back into the work force and if my little bit of makeup (that was new) can help someone to feel better about themselves then I felt better about giving it away. You are doing a great service giving to women or men in need. Be proud of yourself!! Love you gguurrll!
I love how genuine you are. I relate to cherishing makeup because you can’t afford it. I could imagine feeling exactly the same as you if I had that much makeup. Thank you for always being humble. I’ll happily wait for a giveaway. ❤️ love you
For what it's worth, I'm so proud of you for decluttering and donating all the extra makeup to good causes. I have such a hard time letting go of certain things myself, and seeing you do the same is very inspiring. I'll be checking into local donation centers myself. Thank you, Kristi!
I tend to be a makeup hoarder as well...and books. Which is weird because I am NOT a person that keeps much. I'm a minimalist in every other aspect of my life. When we moved into our dream home recently, I was determined to get rid of more than half my collection. And I did. 40+ foundations... gone. 10+ eyeshadow palettes, and 100 lipsticks. I have 3 boxes of stuff and my first friend is coming over Sunday to pick out what she wants.
AmyM& Beauty LoL, it’s not tangible, but the idea of cleaning out my electronic files is torture...I don’t even want to think about that mess! Including all my music playlists 🤯
I see some of these collections by other beauty influencers and it’s like they have a Sephora of expiring makeup in plastic towers with duplicates of products that go untouched. What Kristi is doing is admirable and reasonable. They can keep it all if they want because it’s their makeup and it’s none of my business, but I appreciate seeing generosity and think all the good you put out will eventually come back to you. 💜
kristi i just had the most amazing 18th birthday (june 8th, it’s now the 9th in england) 🙏🏼💗 because most of my best friends are fasting we decided to celebrate after ramadan and our exams (a levels). however, today was so amazing regardless, and it’s honestly been my favourite birthday and day tbh. i am so content right now and so so happy i cried a lot today 😅😭💖 and now you’ve uploaded (first plus) and it’s one of my fave kind of videos as well (second plus), so this makes my special day, although uploaded in the 9th here, even better!!!! i love you kristi, you always make me laugh, smile, and feel inspired 😭💖💐✨
i was so happy just seeing a banner and rose gold 18 balloons (like a big 1 and 8) in my room, but then my family got me amazing presents and my sister even baked the best cake i ever have 😭💗💌💗 family and friends are priceless; they truly made my day today even if i spent most of it at home prepping for iftar. i loved all my gifts so much (there’s more to come) especially this polaroid camera i always wanted from my bro and my mum gave me the jaclyn hill palette which i didn’t expect at all???! now i can understand why you love it so much :’D 💖✨💖 the best present had to be the cake tho oh my gosh i can’t get over it. truly blessed 🙏🏼💗
This is by far the most humble and appreciative declutter/ clean out video I have ever seen. This kind of video has become a trend and I love them but I can’t help but feel how some beauty gurus come across so ungrateful even when they put a disclaimer out there. Kristi this video shows so clearly the kind of beautiful person you are and I love you even more now, I didn’t even know that was possible your the queen of everything
I knew when matte liquid lipsticks came out it wouldn't last very long & real lipstick would make a come back. You just can't beat classic, timeless formulas. Especially if you have smaller lips, matte just makes them look smaller. The only liquid lips I've kept are bold colors bc they stay put. Now the colourpop ultra satins are my jam. As long as it doesn't dry fully matte I can manage. I'm glad gloss is making a come back too.
When liquid lipsticks first started trending, I took the hype that they were the best thing ever and lasted all day without needing reapplication at face value. I learned the truth pretty quickly. I have a handful of them but I only like certain formulas.
Yea if you dont have lip fillers they look pretty awful on, or at least most of them do. I feel like regular lipsticks also fade more gracefully than liquid lipsticks
I still prefer liquid lipsticks just because of the wear time. Regular lipsticks alway rub off me and kind of get all over the place, but I have full lips.
I agree- I was thinking I was weird, thinking, “Maybe I just can’t get with the craze for matte lips,” and tried for so long to, but really didn’t like how it looked on me. Glad I wasn’t the only one happy classic lipsticks and glosses are coming back.
Absolutely no jealousy or negativity here, I am so proud of you!!! I love decluttering, or as I call it, Mucking. We filled a 30 yard dumpster before we moved and it felt wonderful!! I have trained myself to pass stuff on right away. If I don't reach for it, it goes. I have my Ipsy bag sent to my work address so as soon as I open it, I keep what I'll use and give little presents to my Co workers. Now they look forward to my bag as much as I do lol.
It's not bad that they send influencers PR. I think that's great and fun to hear thoughts and reviews. It's becoming excessive and irresponsible of brands to send every shade/entire line to one person. No one will ever get through all of it and it's a waste. Especially from brands who put out 5-100 limited edition products a year. Seems like that money could be put to better use like improving upon their core products, expanding their shade range to include EVERYONE, or even towards putting an end to animal testing. Most influencers now I see are getting overwhelmed with the PR and unloading it and the rest of us to can't keep up or can't afford all the latest and greatest limited edition. It's awesome to see influencers like yourself giving back to shelters or teens just starting. You should feel awesome!!
melidori Amen...it's absurd really! While we get mobbed w/ half assed overhyped releases ever week. Improve the products and lower cost for the actual people whom buy the products! I get influencers buy makeup but it's only here n there plus they'll make wayyy more than product investment w/ a video...95% of the products they use were sent and is never used or used 1x to collect dust for years! I get her reasons hoarding onto it but I'm glad it'll go to people who really need it that have nothing!
I dont mind them sending out PR that much but the fact that they send it in packaging so huge and so wasteful to the environment is absurd! It all gets thrown out anyways! They also should remember that most youtubers are not working makeup artist so they really dont need all 40 shades or every single eyeshadow palette!
Glad, I’m not the only one thinks this way. We are creating so much waste everyday and yet people don’t see that, brands especially! Like shit no one needs 30 lipgloss of one brand every time they come up with new a collection.
As someone that also struggles with getting rid of stuff it was very helpful to hear someone else dealing with similar issues and then RESOLVING IT! IM SO PROUD OF YOU AND ALL THE EFFORT THAT YOU PUT INTO THIS.
I would love some of that make up. However what you are doing is fantastic Kristi. So generous of you to do. Can you do an updated makeup collection of what you kept?
Loved the idea of taking it to high schools. I know many you tubers give to shelters which is great. When I think about the reasons we wear makeup, I love the idea of a student whose day gets just a little brighter when they put on a gorgeous shade. Such a great thought Kristi. Love your channel!
i can’t even believe how wasteful these companies are with their PR. it’s sickening. such a waste of makeup, cardboard boxes, trash space, etc. good job kristi for putting your makeup to good use!
I was finding it really hard to let go of makeup as well...even though a ton of it was really old. The more I have been decluttering the easier it is getting. And like you mentioned. There will always be something new. I have found that after I declutter something I ever miss it. I have been sending a lot of things to a friend, a teenaged daughter or a friend, and also to Glambot.
This is so awesome of you Kristi. I really appreciate how you're always doing or saying something that is of helpful and uplifting. You are one of the very few you tubers whom I trust because you are always real and down to earth. Keep up the amazing work!
We all need to pay it forward. Those of us who are fortunate enough to have a surplus of anything. My collection is no where near as large as yours, but I found that I was starting to keep things in drawers because I ran out of room on my makeup table. Weeks passed by and I never opened any of the drawers. That made me realize I was hanging on to things just because. Meanwhile time is ticking on their shelf life and they are not being used. I took things to work and gave them away to my coworkers, I have some set aside for my daughter and niece and I will be sending things to young girls in need in my home country, the Dominican Republic.
I know what its like to declutter and have to ask yourself if you really need it. Its tough. But your actions will have an amazing impact on those you donate to. Proud of you for setting your discomfort aside to help so many. Love your content, you're one of the few role models left
Thataylaa works with an organization called project beauty share and I believe they are located in Washington! Might be a good place to look to donate!
I know how hard it is to get rid of stuff. I think it’s great that you are giving your excess products to people who need them more than you do. Great job on de-cluttering Kristy!! I love you so much!!!
i used to hoard makeup too! but i started decluttering and selling my unwanted makeup on poshmark and used the money to buy things i new worked for me!
I'm so happy for you! This will totally clear up your space and make your creativity flow- having only stuff I love around always gets me more excited! Thank you for donating to shelters and high schoolers and everyone. It will mean SO MUCH to them! You are a delight. we love you
This is awesome...love that you are donating ..I have a rather large makeup collection and I always give stuff away when I know it’s going to waste..my mom says I have a mini Sephora..which I do I can’t lie..when friends/aunts come over I almost always have them leave with a few things..i constantly give stuff to my mom and sister..it feels good to see them smile and say “really Gigi are u sure?’ I have a bag of makeup for my niece who loves makeup and has a YT channel so I want to help her. Those women in shelters will be so grateful..happy to see the beauty community purging and donating to women in need.
please be careful donating to woman shelters. I lived in a domestic violence shelter for 4 years where i eventually was grateful to get housing there and the workers were cought taking the makeup home. not saying all are that way but the workers are first to view what is donated and 5 people were fired for taking home wonderful donations that the clients really could have used that had nothing and needed to leave with nothing but the clothing on their backs. it's sad but it happens. by the grace of God I eventually got better and healthy after abuse and now live on my own. I recommed a church. great job on your part ,great declutter.
Wow that's disgusting how could workers do that especially seeing first hand what dv women go through. Well done on getting out of an unhealthy relationship. I wish you all the best. xx
Maryann Trinidad it makes me so sad,mad and sick to hear about people like that who steal from others who literally have NOTHING! I honestly don't know how they live with themselves! It's so infuriating when people like that do things that make it harder for those truly in need because it makes us as humans even more jaded and cautious to help others because we are afraid we are being taken advantage of! I am so sorry for what you went through! I can't even imagine. I am so happy you were able to get out and that you have been able to start a better life for yourself! 💜
Very true. It even happens at church pantries. The best things are taken by folks there and they pass on what they do not want. If folks are that selfish with canned and boxed goods, imagine how they will be with makeup. It is so sad.
Lisa B there is a documented psychological phenomenon called moral licensing that explains why this would happen: basically people who do nice things like work at a DV shelter feel like because they do something good, it is okay to do something bad like steal. Because they think the good deed cancels out the bad. It’s quite common unfortunately.
Now *THAT* is how you do a declutter! I bet you feel so much lighter now. There is something raw about a severe declutter, yet so freeing afterwards. But I totally get you. It is HARD to let go and you sometimes need help letting go. Someone on the outside who can give you a different perspective. This is inspirational, makes me want to declutter. Thank you for sending so much of it to people who need it! You rock girl!
yasss im loving all these declutters !!! it inspires me to organize and im so happy that makeup is being donated to others. I hope life brings you nothing but amazing things for all the good that you put into the world 💕thank you✨
I commend you completely for being so thoughtful of others and not just throwing it away like I have seen others doing... I do however think giveaways can help ur subscribers gain access to the makeup community and it allows some of the less fortunate to be excited about using items that they may not have been able to afford. Between us lady u r a freaking Ray of sunshine in a dark world! I love ya ❤️
I would have loved if you filmed yourself and Samantha going through the makeup. I know it was probably stressful and would have been hard to edit but maybe next time you could de clutter smaller sections and film it?
I would have loved to see it, too, because I know Sam would have had me rolling. 😂 But I agree that it would been stressful & hard for her, especially with the emotional attachment. 💜
Kristi I’m so happy you’re doing this! Makes my heart melt! I don’t own much makeup & a few wonderful people sent me some & I’m finally getting a little collection now , they honestly helped me in some of my darkest times & it wasn’t really the makeup it was the kindness that blew me away. Now I’ve made some beautiful friendships out of it. So I seriously know how it is to not have much or just be going through a rough time and receiving makeup just put a smile on my face. I just think you’re doing a badass thing by donating or even giving to loved one ❤️
i think brands sending pr has gotten way out of hand. i understand and appreciate pr because it’s obviously a great way to het exposure for the product but sending out the whole shade range? they should only really send a few that they think would match the person. or sending out entire collections?? or just multiple of the same product?? its honestly a little wasteful.
jacqueline carter I think it's a bigger pain for them to tailor their shipment to the individual influencers. More efficient for them to send identical shipments... especially because they hope the influencer will display the whole thing. Viewers might then think... I'm not the sane shade as this person, but I saw something in the post I think could work for me
Living In Chrysalis yes i suppose your right, but lately more and more brands have been sending out a couple shades in full size that they think would match and then the entire range in little sample pots, which is nice! but if someone wanted to see the full range its not that hard to do a quick google search on the product!
I've found taking pictures (or videos!) of things I'm sad to part with makes it much easier to be ruthless. Proud of you being so responsible for giving your makeup good homes! X
It’s no different than someone who works in another industry. My husband works in IT and he has so many different cords, plugs, and other things. I made him go through and get rid of things because he doesn’t need 10 mother boards or 50 USB cables. It adds up after a while and it can be overwhelming.
It's great that you are getting rid of the stuff and that yes the local shelters can give to those in need. You were being extremely grateful for keeping the stuff, but glad that Sam helped you to cut your collection down. Giving some away to family, friends, shelters and such and giveaways is great. I am glad that you are having a local MUA come by and restock on her kit, this absolutely saves her some money. As a student MUA, I have found it costly to stock up on the creams, powders and liquid foundations. The other stuff is easier to stock up on. Again great job and remember to declutter regularly or it gets out of hand again.
It is amazing you’re getting rid of things you don’t need. There is no reason to feel guilty or sad when you’re doing something amazing. I would love to see the way your drawers are organized now that you have decluttered so much!!
Oh Sweetheart you are an angel!! Think about how happy you have made many people by sharing these gifts. The companies that sent you these things are also going to be happy that you are sharing also. So proud of you!
Great video! You decluttered so much stuff! I hate it when brands send as PR their whole range to influencers - like why would you send a pale girl your deepest shades or vice versa? Such a waste of products! They might as well just send 3 or 4 shades which are close to your skintone. Great job for donating them x
I'm pretty sure the reasoning behind that is, it costs the company more $$ to have people gathering, picking/packing and putting together boxes that may or may not work for each person. Some wear shades a bit darker/lighter for their skin so having someone else choose for you can end up being a waste as well. Some PR persons apply makeup to someone other than themselves etc, etc. It's cheaper and faster to slap a sticker on their already boxed collections (just as they do to most retailers) and revel in the advertising they get from it.
Good for you! I just decluttered today, too!!! I have the same issue of not using everything, and a lot of stuff, lipstick especially, I don't use all the time. I still have a ton of stuff, but it's more organized, and I can reach for it more easily. Another thing was, I've had my Modern Renaissance palette since it came out, and I know it needs to leave, but it's so sentimental to me because it was my first high end palette I bought. And what's worse is that I do grab for it, sometimes. If it's bad/expired I throw it away, unopened or gently used I will give to family and friends.
I know it must've been hard but the way you talk about it you have such a great heart and donating it to people in need is such a good idea. I bet your going to be extremely happy with you see the face of people who are getting your makeup and that's when you realize it was worth.
I'm very satisfied with this video. I always want to see more "savage" declutters. I'm disappointed when someone has a million products and doesn't get rid of anything because they "just can't get rid of it" I declutter multiple times a year and return makeup that I'm disappointed with. It stresses me out wasting money, space and time with products that are not bring used. :( *Sad violin plays*
I never understand people who get upset over declutters. I think it is very generous and kind to share with family and donate to women who don’t have access to beauty products. Being able to have something pretty to boost your confidence when you are at your lowest can do a lot of good for someone’s self esteem.
In addition to donating to women’s shelters maybe you can do a day where you actually do their makeup? I’m sure those women who have been through so much would love to be dolled up
What you're doing is Amazing, please don't feel bad. You will help Sooo many people. It's amazing how a little something like lipstick or a nail polish can make a person feel better. Thank you, for giving it away to places that NEED it. You've come so far and I completely understand how hard it is to let these things go , but .... you're not expected to use every shade range of EVERYTHING. So no matter how hard this is for you, you'll find so much joy out of giving it to those who need it most. THANK YOU! We need more actions like this in this world. Thinking about others in need or just in general is a wonderful thing. 🤗✌🏼🤗💜 peace and love !
I 💜 This! Thank you!
MissBunni tx 4 ur reply 💟 im so happy ur happier and better now. Go girl.
I love this! Just feeling pretty or put together has such an effect on mood and mindset. That’s why I believe makeup is self care. If you feel good and feel beautiful then it’s great for mental health
Yes I know this feeling also!
Brands also need to stop sending entire lines of foundations. Come on... Jouer did the best with sending the few shades that should be best with small minis in case you wanted to swatch for your vids! Otherwise the waste is awful.
Lisa Locke this exactly! I don’t understand why brands keep sending their full ranges all the time
It’s freaking wasteful and unnecessary.
I would freak out if someone donated makeup for me to use for the student actors and actresses.
burnam524 Especially the creams and contours!!!
As someone close to a theatre director I can promise you that they’d love the donation. And you get to support the arts at the same time!!
In case Kristi doesn't do the video showing what she kept I'll tell you, the Covergirl Healthy Elixir, ColourPop No Filter Concealer and the Jaclyn Hill Morphe Palette
Alexandria Sutton don't forget Fenti lip gloss in Fenti glow! 😆 we love you Kristi 💕
Don’t forget Wet n Wild lipstick in mochalicious, and fenty gloss bomb 🙃 ❤️❤️
haha I love this comment cause it's so true. :)
And her hourglass stick foundation 😂
Baaahahahahaahaaa
The beauty influencer Thataylaa works with Project Beauty Share. They collect gently used makeup for women's shelters. I bet she has contact info in most of her videos. Anything your friends, family and other local outlets don't need would be welcome there.
Dragonpop Yaasss!!! 🙌🙌Hopefully Kristie knows about this wonderful organization
Dragonpop yesss 👏👏
She knows, she is friends with Taylor! 💜

I was feeling bad for your cat realizing that all those amazing boxes were already full LOL
I used to volunteer at a women's, DV Shelter Kristi. Some of the women had to leave their home's in a hurry. Taking only, the clothes on their backs.
I found them to be so brave.
I was humbled.
I was responsible for driving them to and from Dr.s appts, grocery store's, etc, & donation warehouses where they were each allowed, 1 bag of cosmetics, (Wal-Mart size bag)
2 bags of clothing, 1 bag of coats, jackets & 2 boxes of shoes.
ImaTChure Please check out Project Beauty Share!

Elease James i reckon they want you to do give-aways. it prob means you are more likely to do a video on a brand if u can share some of it with your followers.
yeah most people who get duplicates will do a giveaway
That’s such a beautiful comment that, sadly, I can relate to so incredibly much
So many influencers are decluttering recently and I’m so into it.
It saves them a lot of work trying to work out each persons shade so they can just use the one they need. It also shows off the range
The original comment is dumb
So, truly...TRULY not hating on some of the subscribers...I promise...there is NO WAY you can expect 1 person to sort through all of that make-up and box and mail hundreds of boxes to mail to you. I'm HOPING most of those comments were made in jest or fun.
My first thought when I finished watching was: now THAT'S how you do a disclaimer...simply share how and where items are going and/or being donated to. Finally, a beauty vlogger that doesn't 'scold' saying "please don't ask me to send anything to you. I'm not selling these, either..."
Yet...I will now be more understanding about that from now on. They do it for good reason. Lol
Don't get me wrong...if Kristi would adopt me, I would totally let her...just for a chance to get to those goodies! Lol! (I keed, I keed Kristi...I promise...lol)
Great way to do a declutter in this magnitude, Kristi!
Gypsy Monroe THIS. THIS. THIS. SHE IS MY FAV.
Now that I have almost 7 years clean I always go through my clothes and such to take to those places... great job Kristy❤❤👍👍
jennifer macrina congratulations on your 7 years being clean! 💫
froncifresh thank you
Good for you girl! That's something to be super proud of!! :D
Good job on overcoming your addiction. 💪👍
you're a rock star and an example to follow! 💗 God bless you always! 😘😘
My sister runs a non-profit children's theatre group and they would LOVE, and be so grateful for, donated makeup!! I loved this. Thank you!
I love declutter videos lol. Kristi is so sweet donating these to women's shelters 💕
I love how honest Kristi is also.
Meanwhile I have 2 mascaras and ones pretty dried out lol
BIG BEAUTY MONY same tbh and i only have like one lipstick lol
All I have left is a benefit roller lash that’s a year old and almost out of product 😫
Meanwhile I have no mascara rn lol
BIG BEAUTY MONY same. I think I'm gonna grab the Milk Makeup kush one.
Good for you. Nobody should have as much as a TH-cam beauty vlogger.
Your willingness to donate your makeup could absolutely change a woman’s life and how amazing it is that you are blessed enough to be able to do that ☺️
Well that explains "Make up I hate" videos. Can't get rid of it.
Oh my, I totally understand how hard it is to let go of things. You are not ungrateful at all. You are actually quite amazing for giving all of this to those who can use it. It makes complete sense to do that. It's amazing to think of how many people will be blessed by your generosity!
Have to say I love how positive your comment section is Kristi, you really deserve all your accomplishments! Decluttering feels so good!
Will you do a video on your collection? (Of what you kept) and your storage?
God Bless You, Girlie ❣️❣️❣️❣️
💚💜💚💜💚💜💚💜💚
I love that you're passing these along rather than dumping like some youtubers do! I got a bunch of lightly used makeup recently, it's great for trying out new brands and colours!
Kristi, send them out to project beauty share too!
Briana Schino What is Project Beauty Share? I have unused make up I'd like to donate.

Damn am I the only one who noticed how good your skin looks in this video
Courtney Sikorsky I was thinking the same thing lmao! 😍❤️🙌🏼
And her hands are so beautiful! She’s just so lovely and soulful 😍.
Michelle Rhodes Makeup and books are my jam too.
Girl same! Literally makeup and books! Can't live without both! And music, but well that's all on my phone so technically not hoarding right? Lol
kristi i just had the most amazing 18th birthday (june 8th, it’s now the 9th in england) 🙏🏼💗 because most of my best friends are fasting we decided to celebrate after ramadan and our exams (a levels). however, today was so amazing regardless, and it’s honestly been my favourite birthday and day tbh. i am so content right now and so so happy i cried a lot today 😅😭💖 and now you’ve uploaded (first plus) and it’s one of my fave kind of videos as well (second plus), so this makes my special day, although uploaded in the 9th here, even better!!!! i love you kristi, you always make me laugh, smile, and feel inspired 😭💖💐✨
i was so happy just seeing a banner and rose gold 18 balloons (like a big 1 and 8) in my room, but then my family got me amazing presents and my sister even baked the best cake i ever have 😭💗💌💗 family and friends are priceless; they truly made my day today even if i spent most of it at home prepping for iftar. i loved all my gifts so much (there’s more to come) especially this polaroid camera i always wanted from my bro and my mum gave me the jaclyn hill palette which i didn’t expect at all???! now i can understand why you love it so much :’D 💖✨💖
the best present had to be the cake tho oh my gosh i can’t get over it. truly blessed 🙏🏼💗
I'm glad gloss is making a come back too.
caseyajb03 Yup girl...i look like crusty the clown in liquid lips w/ my small mouth and lips! I hate it! Only bold colors i kept too!
Watching these type of videos makes me want to clean .
Angie E Lmao I know how u feel. 😁💚
You are a delight. we love you
This was super inspiring! I need to hop to on my decluttering! 💕
That's really sad and sickening anyone would do that. You would think someone working that kind of job would be way above something like that.
I know it was probably stressful and would have been hard to edit but maybe next time you could de clutter smaller sections and film it?
yass! i was thinking this too
I would have loved to see it, too, because I know Sam would have had me rolling.
The whole time I was watching this I was thinking to myself: "Damn, if I was Kristi's friend/family member I'd be taking all of it." 😂😂
It is amazing you’re getting rid of things you don’t need. There is no reason to feel guilty or sad when you’re doing something amazing. I would love to see the way your drawers are organized now that you have decluttered so much!!
You could donate to your local USO for the female veteran's and soldiers.
Rachel J right!! Such a waste! They should def just send over 3-4 shades that may be in their color
For a review
OMG I would love just a quater of what you have lol. Love you girl. Your such a beauty 😍 Sending hugs from Tennessee ❤ ✨ ❤ ✨
Melanie Noe its nice to see another Tennessee girl on here!!! 🍊😘❤
Holly Schell Hey there. I'm right outside of Knoxville
Melanie Noe Im in West Knox!!!
Holly Schell now that is awesome we are about 30 to 45 min away from each other
Holly Schell I'm in west Knoxville too 😊
I know it must've been hard but the way you talk about it you have such a great heart and donating it to people in need is such a good idea. I bet your going to be extremely happy with you see the face of people who are getting your makeup and that's when you realize it was worth.
I'm very satisfied with this video. I always want to see more "savage" declutters. I'm disappointed when someone has a million products and doesn't get rid of anything because they "just can't get rid of it"
I declutter multiple times a year and return makeup that I'm disappointed with. It stresses me out wasting money, space and time with products that are not bring used. :( *Sad violin plays*
It's so cute when you can hear your cat purring, emotional support while you go through your makeup 😊💜
I believe Tati donates to shelters always, so I’m sure she has info somewhere in her descriptions
