SMB 2 had new elements, like the wind, poisoned mushrooms, trampolines that could make you jump extremely high, enemies, that wouldn't appear underwater usually and overall different and advanced physics to perform even more extreme jumps (on Koopas in air at most).
Great review, Ash! I hear a marked improvement in your script reading/delivery making it very pleasant to listen to. As for the game, it sounds about what I expected. Which is all I need right now. Jools has stated that this ISN'T Mutant Mudds 2, so reusing the same assets doesn't bother me too much on that front. For a "1.5" if you will, this looks pretty great. The core mechanics are so good, I don't need a radical change. I do wish music wasn't reused though. I love the first game's soundtrack, but that means I want to hear more new stuff like it, not just the same songs. Either way, I'm pretty excited to download this later. Also, you didn't mention the fact that you get a discount if you've bought the first game.

The deal is really sweet, this game is one of the reasons to not pirate my 3DS, even when Nintendo has abandoned us here in Chile (My Nintendo, Miitomo, etc).
We can change the place we live in,but it does not accept credit cards from other countries so we have to use eshop cards,plus we lose benefits like the Ambassador progam.
should I buy _Mutant Mudds,_ or _Super Challenge_ ? _MM_ on the 3DS has 80 levels, while _SC_ only has 40… but I can get it on both 3DS and Wuu for the price of one, currently $5 on the eShop.
I ended up buying both while they’re on sale now, since the eshop is going down tomorrow and I figured I’d want to be able to play the other if I enjoyed one of them. Overall I’ve enjoyed the regular Mutant Mudds quite a bit so far. Super Challenge was less fun during the time I played it due to its high initial difficulty, but I’m hoping that once I finish the first game it will be a better experience.
Well looks like I won't be missing much here since I found the first game a incredibly bland, repetititve and boring experience. Since this is more or less a DLC pack for the first game I won't be rushing out to buy this one.

+AV dE I would say so. While it's been topped since by games like the ones you mentioned, Mutant Mudds was arguably the first must-buy on the eShop. I still think it's success is what first made the eShop seem like a viable market. And btw, Ash is a little wrong in saying that Deluxe is another game, as it was released as an update to the original. Think of it as free DLC, basically.
Slippy Toad Well my point was you don't have to rebuy the game to get the Deluxe version. It's one SKU, the Deluxe levels were just a software update if you already had the game. If you buy it now on the eShop you automatically get them.
Honesty, if you want to get the full experience of this game, get it on 3ds. The 3D is brill👍

I got the game now and as good as the original Mutant Mudds Deluxe is I think this sequel is horrible... It's just not fun.

The boss entry animation is like 3 seconds. There is no reason to need to skip it.
I'd rather play Pokemon than Mutant Mudds even though I like it :)
