Cat Grade Control with Touch Point Feature - Cat Next Gen Excavator

Cat Grade Control is easy to use, requiring only that the operator references a vertical starting point to “benchmark” the system - either by touching a known point, such as a hub or stake, or by referencing a laser beam from a transmitter located on the job site. The operator simply enters the desired depth and slope into the display and is ready to begin digging to grade.

Yes. Or turned off individually for above, on, or below tones of you'd only like to hear certain tones

I’m running a cat 336 new gen. I figured out everything you showed in this video but the auto assist. When I try and turn the boom on for auto it turns off right away.I’m digging pipeline ditch and would love to use this feature. I set my bench mark and my depth and been using it like that. But that auto assist would be the bomb. Could you please tell me how to turn that feature on. Thanks

This probably won’t help you a year later but there are two ways to use the Assist. On/Off. Or Assist on demand. I sounds like you machine is set to assist on demand meaning you have to hold that button while wanting assist to function. This can be changed in the operator setting bu configuring that button for On/off instead.

You do not to do this, once you have the bottom of you foundation say, and you have to move, just move back but make sure you can reach you set grade and carry on, there is no need for this step. Does not matter if your going up hill, down hill as long as you can reach the set grade you made.l, your good to go
