We were able to change the compatibility game altogether since the mission computers are completely home grown.

India accept russian offer like new engine for SU-30 MKI and that engine full TOT with local production in india. If indian govt. Want then start the deal with russia. Current situation russia have only option totsl TOT and local production of that engine.

New higher thrust engine is need of hour as it will increase twr of our leading air superiority fighter jet also make it ready to integrate laser weapons being developed for amca and next gen jets.
In next fifty years 4th gen jets will be relevant of they are able to keep them updated with weapons and sensors . Both will warrant higher thrust engine to keep our large fleet of heavy weight su30mki relevant till 2060

HAL has to do it as fast as it can. IAF is loosing old jets and there is no MRFA or LCA MK 2 in site. No new aircraft has been inducted apart from Rafale.
MRFA even if signed today will take few years for induction.

My long time observation regarding IAF and consequent understanding dictates that IAF needs to invest more in its "technical staff", dedicated "high IQ" (even if not soldiers) teams should be involved to address such issues. What happens is DRDO is technically superior to IAF and the air force just cannot "communicate" effectively with it's superior "contractor" i.e. DRDO. Indian Navy has addressed this to a certain extent and air force needs to realise this, current era is "not" of dog fights...no matter hom many Top Gun-Maverick movies you watch in 2023 and beyond.
And that is the reason why IAF finds it more suitable to purchase off shelves and thus lesser customisation specific to Indian needs and geography and war philosophy.

You didn't discuss about reduction of radar signature in the upgrade. With geometric stealth out of the window, what are the other plans to reduce radar signature apart from stealth coating?

@@AlphaDefenseHindi it will help it reduce its IR signature. Also missiles conserve their energy better when fired from an aircraft which is already supersonic as the extra energy is not wasted in breaking the sound barrier, making them more effective.
Why did they not go for the AL-41 engine in this upgrade package.
I hope they get at least 2 squadrons of SU 57 and use izdeliye 30 on SU 30 Mki that would be so coool
