I just finally went through a huge bin I’ve had in the corner of my apartment for months now and I’ve found what could be my dream come true in terms of reintroduction to Lego. I stopped for so long but dude, there’s really something so relaxing and meditative about sorting through huge plastic bins of random legos. Bags of figures, brickarms, accessories, etc. I even found an old coin from a pirates set that could be worth some real money😂 overall I just can’t thank people like you guys enough for encouraging me to get back into my favorite hoppy ever and to finally just do what I love. Peace out guys
This is a good little video for someone just starting out - even an 8 year veteran like me took a couple of things from it - good to see another Tasmanian Bricklinker too
Thanks so much for this, in particular I have been looking for good storage solutions in Australia and couldn't find anywhere even remotely close to the value of the ones you showed in the video. Postage info was also super helpful
Yeah definitely good to get out there on socials but running actual ads may not be as beneficial as they could leave your store and buy from a competitors instead!
I started a month ago and until know it is going great. I bought around 46kg of lego boxes from different private sellers to get the parts for my pirate MOC. I paid around 450€ and i already made like 250€ back from it. I sold minifigures and parts for 100€, the stuff i didnt need in ebay auction and on the german pendant of craigslist. I still have an AT AT, and like a Dozen smaller star wars sets at home where a few parts are missing. So i still have 40kg and the sets and i just paid 200€ for it now. But i keep the parts in order for my MOC (2m×3m) and to have spare parts for other sets.
Hello, I just had a question. In Australia, do you have an ABN (Australian Business Number) for your store, or do you not need one? How do you deal with taxes for your store?
Great vid. I am an ebay reseller and recently got the lego bug. Currently I buy bulk loads of FB Marketplace. They are usually part done and I use Google lens to id the set. I then find the parts list and do the best i can to get all the parts to sell. I have an ABN and as I don't make over 18k I don't pay tax. I also use a tax accountant as I cannot be bothered doing it myself. I am now thinking of starting a brickink store so finding this was good timing. I will look at your other vids and those of other sellers you recommend. Thanks again.
So I'm a Magic/YuGiOh/Pokemon seller, and there are "price guides" so I can see which ones are rare and worth money. Is there anything like that for Lego? Also there are just straight up "buy lists" where you publish a list of cards you're always looking for and the price your paying, so other people sell straight to you and then you sell for profit, is there anything like that? Do lego exchanges exist other than bricklink? Bricklink looks like it was designed in 2005 and never updated. I find it difficult to use. :) Any advice would be great.
Are you able to put just certain pieces on a store? Like if I purchased a lot of random pieces on Facebook marketplace and sort the pieces out, can I put them in the system or does it have to go buy sets? Thanks!
I started a store recently too. I have found the setting up of Stripe was a bit difficult.(I refuse to use PayPal because they want to control free speech). I went all in with my life savings (just before the Lego price rise) and find organising my inventory is the most /confusing/time consuming....
Really want to start a Store but i only want to sell technic / Bionicle stuf 😅 cus i dont use those my self 🤷🏼♂️ don't really think that will go that well
I have recently opened a sellers account I uploaded custom photos without seeing any information regarding having to have a brick in the photo. That has caused a huge delay as they won’t verify without the brick. The communication from blicklink can’t be any worse, they simply won’t explain this, provide a link or even verify after I have provided the brick! They probably and currently want AGAIN what I have already provided 🤷♂️🤷♂️ TBH,I’m not after a secret rocket warfare payload, why such a complicated process No wonder no one uses photos!
Advice from someone who has been on BL for 20 years. It isnt worth it. A minimum wage job will pay more and you won't have money sitting in inventory that is slow to move. If you have extra time on your hands and you want to fund your personal LEGO hobby, it's fine.

just found pirate money in a chest while watching this lol
Awesome Video for BL Starter, well presented and tons of information. Looking forward to more videos.

How did you join the army at 8 years old? 😮
Haven't watched the video yet, but have I stumbled across a rare fellow australian?
Thank you. This was a very useful and helpful video.
Love to see someone from Australia doing these type of videos
Great Information !!!!

Nice video! Is it useful to market your store on Instagram or other socials?
Yeah definitely good to get out there on socials but running actual ads may not be as beneficial as they could leave your store and buy from a competitors instead!
Cheers, just set up my bricklink store and was wondering why I wasn’t getting orders - it was the shipping.
How many parts did you have in your store when you got your first order?
A few thousand, only because took bricklink forever to verify me
Excellent overview. What scale of inventory would be (1) Minimum to open a store and make sales (2) Optimum to generate perhaps 3-5 orders per day ?
1 I’d say is 10-20k parts, 2 is difficult because depends on where you’re selling and ratio of sellers and buyers
@@BuildBrix That's helpful. What about order size/value - can you give some idea of the distribution?

I still buy sets that are only 2 times part out value. Reason I do this is bcs I get more variety in my store.

the first 18k is tax free but past that you will need to start paying tax I believe, not 100% but no I don’t have ABN yet

I just posted a video a few hours ago about price guide for Lego! And yeah bricklink has a very old design that’s why I all sell on eBay
@@BuildBrixthen why make this video?
What if I dont have drive licence
You might be able to use a different primary ID not 100% sure though

What
I'd love to know what kind of revenue you're generating compared to how large your inventory is.
I’ve been thinking of doing this when I get more serious with the business, I’ll be sure to update everyone in the next vlog
Are you able to put just certain pieces on a store? Like if I purchased a lot of random pieces on Facebook marketplace and sort the pieces out, can I put them in the system or does it have to go buy sets? Thanks!
No you can definitely do that, I recommend using a software called brick store to sort them and upload to BrickLink
I started a store recently too.

Could be good if you become one of the biggest technic seller
I wanted to buy the 75333 for investment and I wanted to see how to setup the store.
Turns out you part 75333 out. Coincidences.
Great minds think alike
You’re the same year and month my mom is born😊

Yeah not a huge fan of Bricklink communication skills, took me 2-3 weeks to become a verified seller
Do you need positive feedback to start?
Yes you do
this helped me fall asleep :(
Sleep well 😴
Just to let you know, the sentence 'helping you build better then ever" is wrong, it should be 'than' instead of 'then' 👍
Ahaha appreciate it but my store hasn’t been opened in months 😂
@@BuildBrixoh really? How come

I’ve heard this from a lot of people, definitely been sitting in the back of my mind
