I'm the one who sent this in. This band released their album Deadly Earnest II in 1980 which was locally popular in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1982 they released some other album and this song was played in the leadup to its' release. Somebody recorded it in '82, posted it to TH-cam in 2008 searching for the artist, and it took until December of 2023 for the song and artist to be identified. Glad y'all love this song, also Lostwave is a really cool rabbit hole to go down. This was the vid from 2008: th-cam.com/video/eIKAWBxyr78/w-d-xo.htmlsi=H4-bTq08YTde8jp4
This is blues. Very like some of Peter Green's work. Peter Green was a very classy blues guitarist. He was the original guitarist with Fleetwood Mac. This reminds me of him vocally and some of the guitar work.
ZZ TOP "GOTSTA GET PAID" 25 Lighters rap remake with a twist. That song was "blue's light" FAT POSSUM RECORDS went to the Mississippi Delta and recorded old school blue's men in little hidden joints. R.L.Burnside, T Model Ford etc. Get you some of that.
in spite of the title, this type of music isn't really blues. it's urban country. it came out of the urban country craze in the late 70's, where country singers started trying to sound more commercial.
Surprisingly good tune. Really digging this one
