From watching your discovery gameplay here, I was able to gather this much info: Flash Bomb (looking) icon - gain 'green stars' buff. I don't know what this buff does but it's given to all your palicos as well. I don't know if it will effect to non-prowler hunters as well. Beast Model Lv. 1 - gain 'running man' icon buff. This buff effects to you only. If anyone knows what this buff is pls feel free to tell! Beast Mode Lv.2 - affinity boost. This buff is awesome! I believe this can stack with Critical Up (S/L) skill. You'll be a monster with these buffs! IDK if it gives any other boost like the Positive Frenzy? Who knows... Beast Mode Lv.3 - Sp icon buff. I have no idea what Sp means. Special boost? If anyone has a clue please do comment your answer. * The Sp buff also activates when you trigger into Beast Mode and is given to all allies. Again, I don't know if this will effect other non-prowler hunters and I'm still not sure what this buff does. ** At Lv.3 you do a special combo attack instead of jumping to another level. 3 seems to be the max. *** All Beast Mode buffs stay when you revert back from Beast Mode. Really handy if you want to attack with boomerangs. Arekkz were you able to use boomerangs in Beast Mode? If not then Beast Mode is more focused on melee attacks than range. And that's it I was able to get! Sorry it's hefty and I might be wrong. Though I'm really excited to play Beast Prowler when the english game comes out! Thanks for the video! :D
SquidOnGlitter SP stands for style power, it's used for hunters when they use a hunter art and it will give the buffs based on which style they're using, for prowlers you get SP when you use an ability and it'll probably increase the amount of gauge you get and at a higher level reduce the cost of abilities

The "Buff" you were going on about was just one of the Palico's using Go, Fight, Win. Also Beast mode seems to last roughly 2 minutes, so it's not that short a buff(compared to Big/Piercing). Landing any part of the final jumping combo on any monster will increase the rank of Beast mode. I'm not sure what you gain from rank 1 & 2, but rank 3 as a whole lot of hits to that jumping combo. And since the Comet skill shot across the ground instead of at an angle upwards, is the new one that is usable while you are under ground.

it looks like when you get forced out of prowler you got a buff, the orange particle effect, maybe higher levels would grant a better/different buff which would make the next beast (wolverine) mode stronger? in theory sounds like something that would be in the game
Well, not quite. I mean it is an ability, but it's specific to Beast type prowlers, just as Furr-ious is specific to Fighter cats. Because of prowlers have different types with their own unique moves and little traits, they could be considered styles, just not to the same degree as Hunter's.
Gaming_oD Piercing & Big aren't exclusive abilities. Piercing can naturally show up on the 2 you mentioned as well as Fighter, but any prowler can learn both. However, their specific skills, the Poison Purr-ison(Assist) and Plunderang(Gathering) cannot be learned by other prowlers.
Also, since I made the comment, Gaijin has released a video going more into detail regarding the changes to prowlers. Among those changes are focuses for specific prowlers, like Assist & Gathering being geared more towards ranged, Fighter having a focus on Aerial(Charisma's Palico Rally being able to give any cat a Temporary Aerial combo), Healing gaining buffed healing capabilities, Bombing gaining an Adept Dodge and Protection gaining an Adept Guard. Essentially styles, but still not quite the same as Hunters as it's specific to certain Prowlers.
I like how monster hunter gets a little more faster and i seriously hope they localize this. My hope for this being localaized is the only thing keeping me from selling my n3ds.

So if you're worried about dlc transferring I'd say to do all the dlc now to get the equipment and transfer it because you won't be able to in MHXX until the quest gets released again which could be a while
Poggle566 Yes exactly, the dlc distribution beings anew for the expanded game and if anything they'll be releasing a lot of dlc from the base game in the first few weeks (or at least that's what they did from 4 to 4G, hopefully they'll do the same). Justine Azrort i recommand the new 3ds/xl it is pretty good because Monster Hunter has a 30 fps lock and it is terrible on the normal 3ds ( my experience ).

MHX made a lot of nice changes to MH4U. And it's not a massive surprise that MHXX is similar to MHX, since MH4U was similar to MH4, and MH3U was similar to MH3, MH2/MHF2, MH/MHG, even Monster Hunter Diary: Poka Poka Airou Village got Monster Hunter Diary: Poka Poka Airou Village G as an expansion. I don't understand all this complaining that the series never changes, when they have been adding so much while not ruining the base experience.
Prowler mode should not be used online, it's complete shit and doesn't help at all when it comes to damaging the monster and you die really fast. So please people, don't use Prowler when it's a important online quest and please understand that Prowler is a joke class, it's weaker than Hunter mode and you would be more useful playing hunter with hunting horn instead of Prowler.

Monster Hunter Gen hit me like Monster Hunter Tri, although a very awesome and fun game it lacks content, glad to see MHXX is like MH3U.
Im pretty sure that the first buff you got, the glowing one, is from the support cat. Your "beast mode" cost 2 bars, but cost 1 when you got the buff.
