Great video and tutorial of the progress with your layout. Nice to see you running the train a little bit. Watching anyone's layout makes me antsy to get mine done once we get moved into our new home which hopefully is not too far away! I'm ready to get my Switching Layout underway w the design I've created and all my Industry's I'll have. Thanks again for sharing this series of videos with us along with your time and effort my friend!
@@TopRailroad thanks for the encouragement and I think it will too! Once we get moved and I get started you'll have to send your email address to send pics of the progress. And once its completed I'll send you a video. Hope you have a great weekend.
@@TopRailroad It's hard to actually find a cool switching yard in real life that doesn't tell you away for trespassing while you're filming the operation, so that's where HO scale comes in lol
Nice running session mate. Itw as nice seeing some yard movements on your layout. Also thanks for the mention hope the balsa wood track cleaning method works well for you. - Nicholas.
Didn’t see that vid, but Wahl oil works great as a conductive lubricant too. Leaves no residue on the rails. Don’t know about cleaning rails, but after I clean loco and car wheels, my engines alway get a bit of Wahl oil on the wheels. Works great for my large layout
Nice job man. I can definitely say I’ve changed my layout a few times so yup I know what you mean!!! Track magic works well. I use it on mine no issues.
I honestly think the best part of a model railroading is building the layout I love watching it come together. Very satisfying to say the least. But I build switching layouts because I like keeping it compact and detailing is way easier and obviously most of all it takes up little space.
Looks great..nice to see you actually running trains on the layout after all of the previous videos. Personally, I'm not a fan of sound effects, but each to their own.
Looking amazing. I love the progress, and I too scrapped my original design when my wife said I could have more space for my layout. Can't wait to see what you have coming up.
Hey mate cool update good to see the BN on it's way round the layout👍. Going to have to try the track cleaning tips all tips are helpful. The layout looks the goods keep the updates coning anyway good onya mate👍🙂.
Ep 33 was the first I have watched, and the low camera angle led me to notice some rail kinks, primarily at turnout to flextrack intersections. These are too small to affect operation, but do detract visually from otherwise smooth flowing track. One was at the turnout where the GP40 moved in to pick up the two boxcars. Another was further down the switching site. If you see the same, these will be easy to fix by tweaking the rails on the turnout, the matching track, or even a small amount at both. Probably a ten minute job when you have a quick moment. Nice short switching vignette. Now that I've seen one, I'll go back and watch more. Roger Thomas
hey top railroad I love your vid bc I am building my layout and your are a big inspiration to my layout and btw am the 4,700th sub keep the good work up
I actually haven’t mentioned it before maybe I’ll make a video on it sometime. But I guess I chose HO cause I always had it since I was a kid. Plus I just like the size of it personally 😁
Nice video. Sometimes you just have to run trains! After all, it’s what the hobby is about. Just curious, are you thinking of making the switches digitally controlled?
All atlas has nice sounds but you would have to reset the loco in about 8 to ten years, I had CSX 7812 for over 12 years and all you have to do is on the nce DCC if you have it, set the CV 8=8
I just haven’t soldered feeders in that area yet. So the power from the yard section is all thats wired right now and that’s as far as the power goes which is pretty good
You should get 2 more boxcars for more realistic running like pull the 2 loaded boxcars out then grab your boxcars from the yard and set them in the industry for loading
I’m not sure, if I had to give a ballpark with everything including trains, controllers, buildings etc. Probably a little over $1000 but I could be wrong lol
Hi, for cleaning my track, I rub the top of the ral with an old white stocking and after that use rail and track cleaner from Aero-car hobby lubricants.ACT-6006 It improve the conract betwen the diesels very goo and last for months
Running trains in the HO scale layout.
Cool.
I love the GP40-2 with sound.

Love this! Lots of fun running trains in HO scale
Thank you! And yeah nothing better 😁

Oh man , ... this is soo cool seeing this come together...your video at track level looks so freeken real....
Your comments are always the best! Thank you

Wow thank you! Awesome to hear you’re building your own layout too
I've enjoyed watching your progress. You may have mentioned it and I just missed it, but what made you pick HO scale vs. something like N scale?
I actually haven’t mentioned it before maybe I’ll make a video on it sometime. But I guess I chose HO cause I always had it since I was a kid. Plus I just like the size of it personally 😁
nice vid I agree that of you using that CRC liquid. For me I use isopropyl alcohol it works for me.
It's been 6 months since ur last upload😢 plz upload I'm begging u
Cool dude. I'm in Thornton! Get a hold of me.. I could use your help!
Nice video. Sometimes you just have to run trains! After all, it’s what the hobby is about.
Just curious, are you thinking of making the switches digitally controlled?
Very true. Possibly, I don’t know much about those tortoise ones yet so I have to learn a lot more
I have a feeling that those switches will be even more expensive. If we thought $20 a turnout was a lot…
Nice!
Hi I like your train yard
Very nice, except for one thing. The guy standing on the front of the loco looks really silly when the loco is going in reverse. :O
Yeah I know he should be on the other end of the train but I haven’t made a little stand for him yet haha
@@TopRailroad You are forgiven (he says in a very condescending tone) :O
I Just got my nce power cab and I’m building my layout soon
That’s awesome! DCC is the best
If that train is Atlas, they give the most realistic sounds in there trains, I have csx 7812 from Atlas and I love it
It is a Atlas! They are really nice and the sounds like you say are perfect
All atlas has nice sounds but you would have to reset the loco in about 8 to ten years, I had CSX 7812 for over 12 years and all you have to do is on the nce DCC if you have it, set the CV 8=8
So why doesn’t your loco work on that section of track. I’m new to bench type layouts.
I’ll have to get some more soon for sure
Looks good! Can we get a layout tour?
I might do one before the changes 👀
@@TopRailroad awesome! Also if you don’t mind me asking. How much have you invested into what your have so far?
I’m not sure, if I had to give a ballpark with everything including trains, controllers, buildings etc. Probably a little over $1000 but I could be wrong lol
Wait why don’t you have the other section on
I just haven’t soldered the power/feeders to that section yet. Probably cause I know I’m gonna be starting my new layout soon lol
Anyone will build a layout with realistic cities
