    First time I have ever heard any one say to pull thread up at end of sewing as well. What a fantastic idea. I will always do that from now on. Thank you.

    Love this technique!! Thanks Nance! Nancy, will you be having a tut on how to choose great colors for your quilt? You always seem to put all kinds of color together in 1 quilt and it always looks great, if I tried that it would look like mud! Coordinating colors are fairly easy but I'd like to learn more how to put in those unexpected colors and pull it all off!! Hopefully its something you can learn instead of being born with it!!

      Nancy do you use invisible thread for the bobbin as well when you do in the ditch? Thanks for the link too!!

    • @QuiltingWithNancy
      @QuiltingWithNancy  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, when I use invisible thread in the top, I use a Superior Bottom Line thread in the bobbin.

      Nancy could you do a video on how to change a block pattern size? How to change for example a 6” finished block to a 9” finished block and visa versa. It would be so appreciated. I’m having the hardest time finding information on this subject that makes sense. Love, love, love what you do!

      Thank you so much for watching and loving our show :) There honestly is not "simple" way to do what you are looking for but there are lots of books on the market that do. I design quilts in the Electric Quilt program and it does it for me. They have a simplified program also that would do that same and is only about $30 called "Quilt Wizard" so you might want to look into that - Good Luck.

    Making a t-shirt quit for my son-in-law. He wants me to make a sleeve on the back in case he decides to hang it. I did not want to quilt on the front/back of these shirts. I do have fusible interfacing on the shirts. I plan on stitching in the ditch. Any advice? I have watched you since I retired in 2017 and began my quilting journey. You have taught me much. Thank you!

      Hi :) and thanks for watching. You will probably want to do more then just ditch quilting around the blocks. If the quilt is ever washed it will need more quilting than just that. You can quilt on the t-shirts, just sometimes not on the design if it is done with a thick screen ink. I put the sleeve on after the quilt is quilting while putting on the binding, check out this video. th-cam.com/video/x5y5Z5mvC5g/w-d-xo.html

    Is the machine a Pfaff grand quilter? Can you drop the feed dogs. Where did you find the walking foot?
    Thanks

    Just a question on where do you start. I have always heard to start in the middle and work your way out

      Hi Bobbie - that is my Learning to Quilt pattern - the large blue quilt has an extended border of rail fences. You can purchase the book as an EBook or the hard copy book on our website - www.onpoint-tv.com Just last week we did a YouTUbe Live video introducing the book.

    Ep. 207 watching you use invisible thread it must really be invisible I don't see it. LOL Where is the spool. I have the automatic threader on 2 of my singer machines and I can not get them to work. Ugh

    • @QuiltingWithNancy
      @QuiltingWithNancy  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Donna, it is my experience that invisible thread doesn't like to work with more automatic threaders on the machines - it's a pain to work with but it's also a must for in the ditch quilting. - Nancy

    I hate to think what would happen if I tried that after a glass of wine.
