  • Dahi Bhalla is a delicious spicy, tangy and slightly sweet street food that is adored in South Asian households. Our take on Dahi Bhalla starts by making dal vadas, soft lentil dumplings that are fried, then soaked in water, and finally layered under plain yogurt and spices, with a touch of sweetness coming from the imli (tamarind sauce) [ • Easy Imli Chutney Reci... ].
Our recipe makes 22-25 dahi bhallas, but this recipe can easily be scaled up or down and the spices adjusted to suit your taste. Once the dal has been soaked for a couple of hours, it can be prepared and ready to serve in 45 minutes, make sure to give it a go, it's so yummy!
You can freeze the dahi bhalla dumplings in a zip lock back, streamlining the process for next time.
