@@philip-op6de I've re-watched it 11 times, it's a show that rewards re-watches because the foreshadowing is very well done in the first season and it makes you see Okabe in a different light, once you know his actual character.
The thing I love about this is that Okabe's characteristic impulsiveness almost screwed him, and at the same time it managed to save the day. His trademark chaotic nature is the whole point of the show, really. Free will triumphs over determinism. In a story about time travel, this is like giving fate the middle finger. Such a great ending.
Okabe is up there with Edward Elric in terms good character when it comes to the idea of giving up ultimate power. And the sacrifices that it comes with it.
It's the 3rd highest rate Anime on MAL, and trust me it used to be much bigger when it came out. The fact that the show came out in 2011 and it's STILL consistently top 5 on MAL is impressive, when you consider that whenever a new show comes out it gets overrated and rises to the top for a month or two. But yeah, it's my favorite show of all time.
@@justscrollinginthecomments7930I think the reason this show resonates with people so well is because, we can relate to it. Most people have mistakes they regret and wish they could go back and change. Sometimes that mistake we made revolves around a girl….it’s why we all rooted For Hououin Kyoma

It has great writing, Aristotle's phonetics, amazing foreshadowing which leads to re-watch value, and a beautifully portrayed sense of overcoming dread. To top it all off, Okabe is one of the best protagonists period, starting off as a very hangable character, but having layers and layers added to him, completely changing that dynamic.

I prefer the sub too but this is one of the best dubs out there
