  • In this Italian lesson, I'll teach you how to say the following words in Italian: my, mine, your(s), his, her(s), our(s), their(s).
    Did you recognize them? They are the possessive pronouns and adjectives.
    Surely you'll need them to tell people what's yours and what it isn't.
    But if you're not familiar yet with the word gender in Italian, I recommend you to watch first the lesson on this topic:
    1. GENDER in ITALIAN: a simple GUIDE to guess the gender of a word - • GENDER in ITALIAN: a s...
    You can also watch the following lesson to have a better understanding of what you'll learn today:
    2. The article "THE" in Italian: • The DEFINITE ARTICLES:...

    I am taking an online course in Italian and possessives have been very difficult for me. You explained them very well and cleared up much of my confusion. Now practice, practice, practice!

    Love having a native speaker do the pronunciations so I can try to get it right. It's surprisingly tough. For example, "Mia", "Mie", and "Miei" kind've sound the same if you say them fast! Thanks again for the lessons...now, back to practicing my pronunciation :)

    Great! Could you comment on why there #2 Yours (Tuo) and #5 Your/s (Vostro)?

    • @AmbraConnexita
      @AmbraConnexita  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Darren, thanks for your question! "Tuo" is "yours" in the singular form, while "vostro" is "yours" in the plural. For example:
      1. "questo libro è tuo?" (is this book yours?) - here I'm addressing you and hence I use the second person singular
      2. "questo libro è vostro?" (is this book yours?) - here I'm using the plural form, meaning that I'm addressing more people at the same time (second person plural)
      Hope it clarifies? Let me know if you still have any doubts. You can also watch the video on personal pronouns for more details th-cam.com/video/cNB0LYz7-E0/w-d-xo.html

    Good lesson. As someone else mentioned, please speak slower. Also, you are not pronouncing “adjective” correctly in English. The last syllable is pronounced like the word “give” ad-jec-tive. 😊
