History Up Close Ready Room Life

For deployed Naval Aviators, the ready room is the center of squadron life, the location of briefings for flights and off duty camaraderie. Museum Director CAPT Sterling Gilliam, USN (Ret.) takes you inside these shipboard spaces that are such a memorable part of life at sea.

The good Captain glossed over a reason Naval Aviators don't gush with praise for a job well done. The BEST grade for an arrested landing is "OK". We expect "outstanding" as the minimum acceptable level of performance.

Enjoyed this very much but oddly enough - As a Former Marine I Level AVI type- I recall seeing Capt Sterling Gilliam in the Global e-mail on NMCI. I thought that was kind of neat. My name? SGT Ryan Gilliam, USMC. Anyhow, just thought I’d share. Enjoyed the presentation.
