    Before you used it, did you wash ev with warm soapy water? Probably not because you didn’t wash the rice before you. It does make a difference

    I bought the 20 cup Aroma rice cooker. I used it for the first time last night for dinner. I wanted to steam rice and salmon, but I DO NOT recommend putting meat like that in the cooker with rice. IT WAS NASTY. the salmon juice went into the rice and the rice was so gross I couldn't eat it. The salmon was really nummy and juicy though! I will cook meat and rice separately from now on, but rice with veggies on top would be fine! :) Thanks for your review.

    You should of read the instructions first. you had to clean it with soap and water and then cook. also add the rice first with the measuring cup that was supplied for you then add the water.

    Wow... seems some were highly critical...I thank you for all you showed us-whether bowl was washed or not, etc...it's helpful to see and hear. I didn't see any responses from you & I am wondering if you have enjoyed your machine & still use it for veggies and such. Also how did you find veggies in next go 'round. I am hoping container would emit less chemicals... did the rinsing after this batch help? I bought this to give my mom's meals by bedside. Would you give a quick response-so appreciate it. Thanks ~

      The rice/water measurement chart that he was using in the video says, “the Provided rice cooker cup is equivalent to a 3/4 cup (U.S. standard measurement” So, it's actually a little Less than a full cup)
      I lost the cup a long time ago. I've had this for over 15 years and I LOVE IT.. Perfect Rice EVERY time. Using a ¾ Cup measuring cup.
      *And Always, with Rice, even in a pot on the stove..
      1 cup rice = 2 cups water
      I usually add some Salt to the water and drizzle some Olive Oil also, for Flavor. I have never rinsed Any Rice in all my life 😉👍 It's been a Great little Rice Cooker/Steamer for me for many years 🎉
      *If yours IS brand new.. Wash and dry it Really Good first, using dishsoap and Hot water before using the pot, spatula, measuring cup, steaming basket and also the flat, circular Inner lid. Also, Remember to Empty and Wash the little moisture Reservoir, located at the hinge of the lid on the outside After Each use. It easily snaps into place. (He completely left that part out, though overall, his Review was one of the Best I've ever seen).. Then, ENJOY it for the next 10 years, at least! 😊

    Thanks for your review! Definitely do have to wash it pretty well after unboxing and then on one video, the broccoli was added about 10 minutes before the rice was taken out. So to prevent sogginess. But I am quite impatient myself and would have experimented the way you did.. Anyways, thanks for reviewing.

      Oh please doesnt anyone using the aroma rice cooker have lovely rice with a hard almost layer of rice coating the bottom.. lovely mess to cleanup. Just cant get this cooker to make nice rice. Also takes a total of 42 minutes to make this rice. Only 25 in a saucepan on the cooker. Never had a problem. Thought a rice cooker would make life easier.

    Can you cook quinoa in it?

  • @LisaSpangenberg
    @LisaSpangenberg 9 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    You are supposed to use the measuring cup that comes with the cooker not a regular 1 cup measuring cup. The cup provided is not a regular full one cup. You put the rice in the cooker and then fill to the 1 cup line. You were also supposed to wash the pot before use so you don't get that chemical taste to the food. This is clearly stated in the directions.

    Dude,
    I respect what you are trying to do by showing one continuous take from opening, but next time read the instructions first as oder people wrote you are always require to wash all items before them and also you are supposed to turn the rice first and let it sit in the cooker for a few minutes before consuming so it don't look like a "rice pancake" and actually it finish cooking evenly

      Rinsing the rice will remove some of the starch from the rice also making it easier to clean so I’d recommend rinsing before cooking.

    So it's equal parts? 1 cup rice=1 cup water? I always thought that THAT was for the instant kind and for the NON-instant it's double the portion of water to the rice measurement. Anyone can chime in. :)

    • @9malls
      @9malls  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Everything I'm reading says "approximately 1 cup of rice to 2 cups of water." Least when you Google it that's what it says, but seems like too much water.

    • @HabuBeemer
      @HabuBeemer 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The ideal ratio of rice is 1 cup rice to 1 cup water ONLY IF you have no evaporation which can be done in a souvide cooker. Pots and rice cookers allow for evaporation and therefore the extra water. The ratio of water to rice is critical. The more correct ratio is about 1 cup rice to 1 1/2 cup (or slightly less). Also it does not automatically double the amounts if you double the amount of rice. 2 cups of rice would only require about 2 3/4 cup water, not 4. Again, the extra water is not absorbed, it evaporates.

    I don't think you are supposed to steam food at the same time as cooking rice. Food flavor will always get into the rice and food will always be over cooked by the time the rice is done!! You should cook rice ahead and then steam your food items.
    And yes...always wash cooking appliances with hot soapy water before using new products!!! Read the instructions before you make your videos!!!
