24-25 years ago I was a teenager growing up on a secluded rural Canadian reservation. We didnt have a lot of access to music and no internet either so it was hard to get exposed to new stuff. I always searched it out and found music like dancehall and reggae. When I turned 12 I met a girl from the city who showed me Rancid and through that punk and ska music. I am forever grateful for you Roxanne and Rancid.
There is something about the music, THEIR music. It's not complicated and they aren't trying to win a literary award for their lyrics. But it's relatable. The songs are their stories. The dreams, the sadness, the angst, being homesick, being Time bombs or just plain needing Salvation. And that's something we can all relate to. But it's cats like these and the Mike Ness and Social D's that are lifers and they live it to the bone. It's in them for better or worse. They're still living it. Still writing songs about their lives and giving us a pit to live ours, if only for an hour or two.
I was at this concert and it was F-ing AMAZING!!!!! The pits were awesome that night!! I love Rancid!!!! The Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Sick of It All were awesome that night as well. Such a great show!! I will never forget it!!

This was mine and my best friend from high school's first ever Festival, first time ever going out of state on our own, first time camping on our own, and our first ever shows. Snuck contraband for the first time and first time assisting in sneaking in alcohol from the only convenient store there, my first circle pits, first time getting a girl to wrap my waist at random (first time someone tried to pickpocket me and failed) and holding for a while in disbelief. The punk in drublic shirt i bough became the back patch of my first battle jacket a few days after we left and have been wearing it proudly. Even if we don't talk anymore and we fell apart I still miss you J.
My friends and I were consistently drunk, high, and on blow. Started drinking in that long line to get into the festival, and then started partying hard. We slept like 3 hours that 3 day weekend. Great times! I miss it. Sucks being in an office now.
Finally You are coming to my state but I won’t be able to see you 😓😫😭 it’s my dream to see you in person but most likely I Won’t Love you either way all the day and the night we are Rancid and we are going to fight.

This was such a fun festival. Nofx was cancelled, but we all still had a blast. Would love to see the Strung Out and Pennywise sets.
