He’s super good. But have you ever heard rob wright of nomeansno play? He’s definitely better, and a true punk (unlike flea or les claypool). I grew up idolizing them both (Matt and Rob)
@@firemarshal2629 yes I knew it was just..... I know no means no, Matt is so far better he created brilliant songs and play sooo goood. I really fukcing love RANCID!!!!!
He sure is. And I like his Tim Timebomb project It Rains Rain, Between the Two of us One Has the Answer and so on. Some very old songs I never heard that I enjoy listening to.
Tim's guitar: "I have no idea what PALY means... but he plays me perfect for a lead guitar of a street punk live show, especially when you got Mr Freeman and Mr Lars Frederiksen backing your shit up" :)
i like how whenever tim approaches the microphone to the audience everybody is like "sorry man, i don't really understand what the fuck you are singing. Keep that thing away from my face."
thank you for sharing this legendary full performance, i remember when im at junior high school, i had this one live video of this performance, its time bomb, i wanna have full performance of this concert, and now, 15 years later i can see this finally :')
I remember seeing them in Chicago back in the 90's when the "Lunachicks were opening for them and the crowd was not into the girls opening up for some reason...Lars walked out and stage dove into the crowd to stir things up then later aked for the buttons back everyone plucked off his jacket when they got onstage LOL
I am impressed at how consistent and rock solid Lars and the rest of the band are here and absolutely stunned at how inconsistent and lost at times Tim is.
Are you F'N kidding me man? He hasn't drank since gawddamn OP IVY was over! It was a deal to Matt he made to start the band! Learn the band and STOP JUDING PEOPLE FROM THEIR PAST!!
Brothels (and NOT Brothers) are one of my favourites with Rancid. Op Ivy, Downfall and Rancid has been the spine of my music taste for the last 20 years... Most of their side projects rocks as well!!! To all of you Who choose to criticise em... Well dont fuckin listen....
+reelTruth112 They do use gibson stuff. You can see tim use a Les Paul in this very video. Lars used a gibson sg during the indestructible era. So they do use gibson sometimes. Just not too often.
Why you people invent bullshit like other rancid members hate Tim? And Tim sure knows how to play guitar, look at some other video(what about lyrics-poem?). He's just enjoy the music, this is punk. I would be too.
For some reason that first album is the one that does it for me. I listened to it over and over in 92~93. It really spoke to me. Never fell in love with anything that came after.
You’re referring to the first self titled ? With the gun on the cover . I was just talking about that album to a good friend of mine . It’s so gritty , it feels like it takes place in a gritty city during a foggy rain at night .There’s something so good about that album, It’s kinda hard to describe . Nothing like it .
@@bazookajoe2889 yes exactly. The songs just flow and they all come off as so honest and authentic. But also I listened at a time in life where I was coming to grips with being an outcast etc.
Who ever was in charge of sound did a terrible job, that is why is sounds funny and why you really cant hear the instruments that great. Tim is also a very amazing and under rated guitarist...Since Lars is the lead guitarist, Tim just takes it easy and takes care of the singing.
I take it you don't like the Clash then either? Because Tim's voice is EXTREMELY similar to Joe Strummer's. Listen to all Let's Go by Rancid than listen to all of London Calling. You will see what I am getting at.
As a Rancid fan, I must say that sometimes I'd love to see Tim paying more attention to how he plays instead of doing whatever he wants all concert long. Is just my point of view, that's all...
Well, ever since Lars became the main guitarrist, Tim's been taking it easy lol. Look at any other Lead singer that plays guitar. They barely even touch it. Only for solos or some extras.
what i love of this band is, Lars backing up drunk Tim so bad, but he never complained about it
Wtf are you talking about?? Tim made Lars quit drinking!

Matt Freeman is the greatest punk rock bassist. Period!

Lars is playing the rhythm, the lead AND saving Tim’s ass all at the same time lol
🤣
to this day this was tim's worst performance. they propably had him drink some german beer
I feel like Lars has always carried Tim onstage...
It’s because Tim’s guitar is so high in this mix - it’s usually Lars guitar all you can hear
16 year old me was there. Good times, thanks for uploading :)
Was Tim playing guitar for real? Lol

Tim playing guitar is a plus, he has the voice that make Rancid
Tim is so drunk in this. its so funny. did u notice he played ruby soho when it was st. mary
At least we know that playing over a tape or lip synching.
Authentic screw up.

I love how Tim's like shit I'm playing the wrong song, looks at Lars to figure out what key to play in. Tim this is why "you" never play live.
He was loaded at this time.
The rest of the band could play the set very well without him, lol
Winner that's y he is who he is

tim has the quintessential punk voice

One of my favorite records and out come the wolves
I remember spending hours and days downloading this concert from imesh back in 1994.
Damn dude, I should download imesh too I guess. You were able to download a show from 1998 in 1994.
Time travel baby!
Lol imesh... haven’t thought about that in ages... start a download before going to bed and wake up in the morning to a new song lol...
Lol me too 😭
Que guitarrista tan sólido es Lars ¡Larga vida a los Rancios!
i love how rancid never uses Gibson ANYTHING....ever....#RootsRadicals
Actually I'm quite sure Lars has used Gibson SGs before. Not just the Epiphone ones.
true that, i recall lars in a red jumpsuit playing to have and to have not on a gibson. SG...fuck it, RANCID!!!

Rancid is gangsta AF... Blasting Rancid puts hair on your balls... Love this $hit!

I love how the crowd here is active and not like the other crowd Rancid played for that was in Germany.
Showing love to The Specials!
Tim's guitar is a bit too loud (you can tell if you listen with headphones) but I love that raw live sound!
look at the cut out on the Les Paul its sharp like a gretch

They sound really good, but the audio on the recording sucks unfortunately.
this is from 1998!
I think Tim and Matt get a bit more cred than Lars in a lot of Rancid videos. So, I'm gonna say that I like Lars' voice and hawk.
And a more definite and consistent playing style.
2 hotdogs to clean ur living room bro.

34:45 here he is playing the ruby soho chord progression. wtf
He's so wasted lol
