I’m bedbound with a chronic illness that makes sound & light difficult to tolerate & lockdown has been so amazing because I’ve been able to watch a lot of my favorite shows that I usually can’t. I can’t tolerate any clapping or loud laughing but on low on my phone I can enjoy all of the lockdown shows! I wish they wouldn’t go back to loud clapping but I’m sure everyone will enjoy being able to have audiences again.
I agree. Honestly Seth is just such a likable guy that this is what all of his interviews feel like, to a degree. As an example, compare interviews Seth has had with internet/youtube/twitch personalities like Markiplier compared to his other late night show interviews, like the one with Jimmy Kimmel. He just brings out the best in his guests.
You see it a lot when someone gets one of these shows and a lot of their former coworkers have gotten famous. Look at Colbert’s show and how he likes to have old Daily Show people come on. When a bunch of friends all get famous and successful, they’re just going to naturally gravitate toward each other and then we get to see the wholesomeness of friendship on full display.
On New Girl when Nick finds a trench coat and it makes him feel so good, I thought that’s adorable but let’s be honest - not realistic .... enter John Mulaney
I never got into The Strokes but it's so refreshing to hear how cool Julian Casablancas was by giving John two jackets and sunglasses! And how happy it made John Mulaney because John deserves all the happiness. ❤️

He mentioned on a future episode with him that the day before this and the day after he was coked out of his mind, but on the day this was recorded, he was sober.

Even if he wasn't *actively* high on cocaine for this interview, I would not describe this individual as "sober" - he is pretty obviously addled, whether it is from drugs, lack of drugs (i.e. withdrawals), or just a general chronic abuse of his physiology. I am really glad that he's clean now, and seems to be getting his life back in order. I do hate that things between him and Annamarie ended the way that they did, but of course, nobody (outside of those two) knows the full truth of what happened there. I just wish everyone involved the best moving forward.
