Bro I love your no nonsense way of explaining things. To the point, provides reasoning behind why we do certain things, and all accurate information. Your channel is gonna blow up one day man. Keep at it!
No joke man. All the concepts and approaches I've tried from Vince have come to bear fruit. I always come back to one of his vid explanations just to check up on the basics to see if I'm doing it right. This channel is a hidden jewel in youtube.
I like your technique and explanation and will try this out this evening on the racquet that I am restringing right now. Nothing I have seen on these TH-cam videos has worked for me so far and every coach's explanation and technique seems different even contradictory.
Wow! Great explanation for correcting the behind head error! I am able to pronate in a flat first sirve with lot of potency but not able yet to do it as a kick. Will try your tips! Thanks a lot!
I’ve been following your videos and somehow you are able to explain what every tennis coach on youtube says in a very simple way that makes total sense to me😂 maybe is your tone of voice idk. Anyways I’ve been struggling with my serve for so long specially with my balance and the position before contact. I think I finally got it. Thanks so much
Hi. Great video. Can you please talk about having a consistent toss? This might be a video by himself but the toss is one of my biggest challenge. The serve is "hard" enough without me tossing the ball all over 😉
Feet sideways / Letter Y / Brush, comb your hair / Scratch your back, shoulder flip / Bottom left to Top right of ball / Check the time on your Watch / Make letter X. Bonus: Toss in the same spot, upfront to the right for rt-handed player. Ball at 45° angle, a few feet above the head. You can whip your shoulder faster this way. Yay!
I have heard some coaches talk about “supersizing” their grip on the kick serve. So instead of having a conventional continental grip they put their heel pad on bevel 1. Is this an acceptable grip as well on the kick serve?
Unfortunately many club players will take your advice, "scratch your back" literally, and they will not have a fluid serve motion. Scratch your back is a very outdated term, which most coaches cringe when they hear that term. Other than that, good instruction.
@@zlmdragon. Coach Vincent has an excellent service technique! 👏 It would be better if he said that once the raquet starts the "combing the hair" the shoulder and elbow start towards the ball, and that naturally takes the raquet away from the body, not back scratch. The raquet ends up on the right side of the body at its lowest point, for a right hander. Just google back scratch tennis serve myth, as I'm not the only one who doesn't agree with this outdated term. Other than that, very good instruction! 👍
Agree - I cringed when I heard that phrase. 12 year USPTA pro here. That position never occurs or during the modern power loop that all the fastest servers use.
I don't know if you are actually getting any kick on your serve. It looks like you get plenty of topspin but the ball never kicks to the right after the bounce. I think it's because you are not tossing behind you and so it's hard to get some side spin on it.
I think you are confusing with the slice serve. Slice gives the ball a horizontal curved direction, but the kick serve is with the heavy top spin going straight forward with a vertical curve above the net (like any heavy top spin high ball).
He's getting tons of kick, twist, topspin on the ball. Tons. Esp. comparing what he's doing vs. 80% of the "coaches" online trying to do the same thing. Big props for him doing this on the deuce side as well - can't fake things on that side vs. doing a demo on the ad side, where even a pitiful kick serve may look okay.

Nice explained thks !
I needed to make some tweaks to my serve. This video shows me how. Thanks for all you do! Ciao!
Great video with all fundamentals for a good kick serve. Thanks.
This vid is very helpful, and can you make a video for how to do a good overhead smash. Thanks!
Really helpful videos. Thanks

Great explanation. Thank you. Pronation is lot more clear now

Yes
What's the purpose of checking the time after hitting the ball? Why not just continue without pronating?
He’s got a really cute way of speaking

There's defo some kick, more obvious on his 2nd try. Hard to tell Deuce side anyway, would have been nice to see an example Ad side.
topspin is kick... and his serve looks very kicky
look at the begin of video, its very hight

how do u make a kick serve without pronation? 😂
Not a good one. U had better moments. Not sticking to the title of the video!
