Thank you! I"ve seen other videos where the entire back seat is removed. Doesn't really look necessary and my old knees and body will be happier! Looks pretty easy!
So helpful! I've pondered purchasing a P71 for many years now, and the poor quality of the stock sound system has been a significant downcheck. Thanks to your video, I now have a way to mitigate that when it comes time to dive in. Then the question will be.... upgrade it for towing? Or put in a 6-speed manual.......becoming a bucket list item!

Great video I just scored me a 2005 p71 yesterday and I love it so far but definitely need to do something about the speakers in the stereo!.. so I'm guessing the police models don't have any kind of factory amplifier to worry about bypassing huh? ( the only thing I think could have made this video better is a small demo at the end I was anxious to hear all of your hard work)👍🍺🙂
I suggest adding speaker baffles while you're replacing them. but make sure you get baffles and speakers shallow enough to let the window go all the way down. :)
Nice video tutorial Bro. I see the front speaker sizes are 6 x 8. What were the rear speaker sizes? I am considering doing an upgrade for my Crown Vic real soon with a set of kenwood excelons...
Just my 2cents but If you need a backup camera on a crown victoria, you shouldn’t be driving. Good video btw. I was goin to put subwoofers in mine but decided just to upgrade the factory speakers. I’ll be running an amp with mines.
Great video though little bit of a misconception on the button. That only bumps the tweeter 3db to increase highs. If anything it would actually make the bass sound less emphasised. One that I still can't understand is why Ford left the cutout blocking 3/4 Of the speaker. The sound still gets out but especially with a factory system it just lowers the efficiency.
Have 2011 P7B C/V and the frount speckers don't work pulled radio and they cutt the four wires off very short to stubs at the connecter so I guess ill have to buy a new connecter or install four new connecter pins .
Got a question. My 99' vic has a odd problem. A vibration not always. Not at any given speed. But it is more frequent when AC is on. WTF. LOL. New tires. Soooo. Help !!!! LOL compressor off it still happens. Not bad. Not good.
I popped the (rear) seat forward with a little pressure but what's the trick with getting that upright/seat back rear cushion to hook back in place - it looks like you have to lift it up & get it up and over the original bars it was connected to = but it just won't go! Do I have to unbolt it from the floor where the seat belts are connected to lift back up and back in place, or do you have a trick? Ty

It’s a spot found on all panther platforms it was for a optional 8inch subwoofer that came on the grand marquis’s and Lincoln towncars with the premium sound system.
Properly wired speakers travel in the same direction for the most part. If speakers are out of sync like said by cactus it will reflect on the sound quality. One way to figure out what side is neg/pos is to take a battery(AA, 12v whatever) and hook it to the speaker terminals. If speaker moves outward then you have it correct. You can check factory speaker this way also to see what wire is pos/neg etc etc...
Does this work with any Vic? Sorry if I missed you saying that in the vid. Just looking some stuff up for my friend who recently bought an 08 and is looking to get new speakers
For the wiring? I did have some adapters. I believe Crutchfield automatically factored that in for me when I was going through checkout. It depends on speakers though so check out Crutchfield
It's a small snap thing, when you remove the panel it should come undone with no problem, and on the reinstall, you just put the plug in the correct slot at the bottom of the panel
I figured the speakers were the same between all the years. Check Crutchfield.com to see what your options are as that is where I got my speakers and head unit

It depends what stock you have a towncar or even civi crown vic could have a much different "stock" than a police interceptor ever would oem. The button is not to make them sound better. Depending on where they are mounted you may want to boost the highs slightly to compensate.

I just installed these same speakers and I noticed something not mentioned when mounting them. The four 5mm screws stick out from the factory plastic mount ring. Probably 2 or 3 threads it looks like and they do contact the door where the factory did not. Has anybody else had any issues with the mount ring cracking or anything of the sort. They do sound great and don't appear to rattle. I just don't want to end up hearing a snap and having to pay a shop for custom repair work.
