A childhood memory: I recall my father waking me up to watch this match with him. He loved Monica. It started at 1:00 am and I had school in the morning. I was so happy that I could watch the night match, so it has remained in my mind.

She killed everyone on the road to the final that year (including four bagels) but in the final Steffi served perfectly throughout the match and Seles couldn’t prevail.

Yes but not consistently. She has dips in level and her fitness was off.
