I wasn’t born to follow because it takes away your soul So I take it easy, listen to my rock and roll I look through the records in my local record store Or lie out in the garden with the girl that I adore And when this party’s over, I’ve got somewhere to go We’ll flake out in the sunshine, enjoy the afterglow ‘Cause your love is so fine, it gives me something I never had Baby I’m a rich man now even without cash And I can live in happiness without living flash That’s why I’ve got to thank you over and again I’m praying every day that you will always feel the same And when this party’s over, I’ve got somewhere to go We’ll flake out in the sunshine, enjoy the afterglow ‘Cause your love is so fine, it gives me something I never had Your love is so fine, you give me sunshine Your love is so fine, you give me sunshine Your love is so fine, you give me sunshine Your love is so fine, you give me something I never had
definitely, esp the constantly changing rolls on the extended outro of leaving it all behind. remember watvching a live on telly clip and thinking what a great drummer.
This is such a great and warm post GBA song. I do think their daytripper 93 days were too shortlived and I loved the waves versions of a lot of the songs that would feature on Carnival of Light, another underrated gem,./ I would say I wished they'd put out an album that sounded like this between GBA and CoL.
To think that the Austin music scene is still trying to create sound. Little does it know Ride existed back in 1990. I am so glad they are back. The new album is amazing.
Loz Colbert's drumming here. Yet another example of why he's my favourite drummer of all time. Talent beyond belief

That they didn't harmonise on the chorus to this song still hurts me to this day.
