Crown of Thorns Starfish

This creepy looking foot wide starfish has poisonous spines and eats live coral! It crawls around on tube feet that are propelled by jets of water coming from inside the starfish body. When the star crawls over a large coral its stomach comes out of its body and digest the live coral polyps. The Crown of Thorns is native to Hawaii but sometimes has an outbreak of them that wipes out an entire coral reef!
