It's sharp on both sides, right? that's rather important to know. I find the handguards are shallow or not long enough for Western hands like mine (big). It appears sturdy.
@@rhoefelmeyer only one side
Those water bottles never stood a chance.
There’s a version of the xm40 that has a similar mouth cover (idk what it’s called) to the M17 gas mask?
@@GenSec_Swat ILC dover XM40
@ I personally like the way it looks, kinda reminds me of the mask the Metro 2033 spartan rangers wear
@GenSec_Swat mercenary faction from stalker has the xm40
@ Ik, and it looks cool too, I want to get both the M40 that was standard issue and the XM40
@GenSec_Swat I want the three xm40
That's not a Bowie that's a little pig sticker
There are several videos of the M7 bayonet. The scabbard is a USM8A1, which fits M4-M7 bayonets and M3 trench knife. The M-1910 belt hanger has been around since 1910 and is still used on the M-10 scabbard.
do you know how to reattach the switch?
@@XenoDyrroth I'm unsure about it maybe super glue it
@gasmaskcollectorreview1537 Do you think you can make a video on disassembling it and reassembling it? You don't have to, I just cant find any videos on how to fix this type of otf. My otf is a complete mess right now, with all the bits and pieces detached.
@XenoDyrroth I think I can
@@XenoDyrroth next week I can do the video alongside the bdu reviews
@@gasmaskcollectorreview1537 Sure man, thank you so much!
Got scammed by a lady selling these, she talked like it was locally produced, but I only saw the "Yue ting" in the sheath after she left with my money, it was just a chinese crappy knife. Paid $15, but I found it online for $5. Now I'm gonna sharpen it and give it to someone as a christmas gift
@@mantis2915 that sucks
During the vietnam yrs as kid next to a military base there was military machetes around. The nice thing about them I haven't seen since is they didn't have blade wobble when hitting things that all machetes have today.
To the comment on the ball creating a hot spot - Holy God dude just stop it. Great video, awesome knives coming from Microtech - love them!
@@DavidV4444 thanks
SAK reviews are always interesting, though this model is more complicated than I like. Still a great swap meet find
@@Wcquick thanks
Not worth the money
Does your mom know you have this stashed away in the basement ?
I love this knife. Can't beat the price either!
By the way, you are the only reviewer who paid attention to the box. Microtech really has cool boxes that are nice to hold in your hands. And when you open them, it feels like unwrapping a Christmas gift.

I think the price often decides the value !
@@minhhainguyen1979 that is correct
Where can I buy one like that?
@CHASHIER2024 I think at swap meets, fair grounds, and the mall would be the best place to get
What’s with the out there
I'm a lover of all things tigerstripe so the ABU in my favorite at the moment. I'm also just started collecting the turkish woodland very cool and was only used from 2018-2023 they had a military attempted take over so the government made the new woodland so the citizens could know the difference. Then afterwards it was bashed for not being a modern patern. So very short lived pattern.
I like the vietnam war tiger stripes
@gasmaskcollectorreview1537 definitely iconic
Was definitely designed for war like in places like the black forest Germany. The ERDL was very useful in Vietnam. Being tigerstipe was so iconic in Vietnam it was never a U.S. issued uniform. But todays special forces do use it especially the tier 1 operators and it probably always be available to the green berets.
For sure oops we wear all use to the woodland M-81 gods plad the desert camouflage when looking at them they traditionally made sense . Then sage greens and gray. Nobody was ready for that. I was never really interested in collecting this pattern because it is so unpleasant to look at plus all the hate. But know cant get enough of them. My apsalutly favorite is the Airforce ABU camouflage digital tigerstipe. I have a basic sets of both now including web gear. Got lucky and found london bridge body armor in ABU in my size ❤
This video on are historical GWAT Camouflage is so good. I watched twice back to back . Theres no base near us so no army navy stores. I'm 6'2 240 even on Ebay it's hard to find my size especially xxxl shirts . Thanks for sharing
@@jerryrichards8172 no problem
ACU is actually really good as any camouflage it isn't the best for everything. Look at how the woodland M-81 which is considered gods plad really only good for heavy woods like the german black forest wear it was meant to be used. Desert it did ok city's it dose fine sparse woodland it works and at night its fantastic dose well in snow. But in woodland and jungle not as good. When battle dirty in photos hard to tell the difference from multi cam. In all the mentioned environments its to be viewed at distance The big problem was it was sold as the everywhere camouflage. My personal opinion is there just not a pleasant color to are human eyes. Sage green is not a satisfied color to us we rarely use it for anything. ❤ i really appreciate your very good analysis of the UCP . Do one of my all time favorite the Airforce ABU DIGITAL TIGERSTIPE i think its more effective because of the larger pattern. 😊
thats a lot / ref

I love your gas mask videos

Had one for 20 years, used it every day, wore the blade down, got another one exactly the same (took years to find it, got it from Dutch ebay). Perfect knife.
i love warhammers!! one of the best weapons ever!!
@tosen69 hell yes it is I like mace too
Hey dude, do you recommend double or single edge CT gen3 ?
@@IvanIvanov-mk2cp double

When I was a teenager, my first 'real' pocket knife was the Buck 110 with titanium handles. Have used several dozen folders over the years. Now I'm 53 and last saturday I received my 110 with ebony scales and it follows me everywhere. Slight correction: the blade steel is 420HC, not 440HC.
@peerx7866 my bad on the 440hc I thought I say 420hc
Out There Review 🎉
Finally a new gas mask video, very nice mask
@@WeaponsMilitaryDude_Rebooted thanks
The only thing I don't like about the Troodon is the blade tang sticking out of the handle. It looks like the blade has extended further than it should. I would also prefer a pocket clip like the Amphibian, as the ball creates a pretty noticeable hot spot. Otherwise, Troodon is badass. I took the Apocalyptic with a black handle.
I just bought one. I'm from the Caribbean and I needed a heavy machete to clear brush and to cut small trees It's perfect because of the 4mm thick blade and it's heavy It chops tru 3inch branches effortlessly. It's a good chopper and could be used to split firewood for camping etc The best machete I've seen here. Most sold are much thinner and good for brush but struggles to clear 3inch to 4 inch trees This could take on a 6 inch tree imo...its like a small axe with that amount of steel behind it, big chunks of wood just comes off
I bought mine for the sole purpose of making a spear…😅
That’s a great review of the kit
@@allkindsofoutdooractivities thanks

mine is marked Colt and has the Colt horse on it.

I have that same KuKri and I like it. For the cost, don't knock the Sheath; it is not like it cost a lot of money. It good because it has a Flat Grind and a Hollow Grind.
@@thevirginiabushcrafter8833 yeah I can see that
Out where ?
the best thing about this design is that it comes with a straightforward sheath design instead of a buttoned up sheath despite the not so straightforward blade shape
Hahaha yes that's a great kukri. I got one from TSC. Sheath is trash indeed 😂😂 have a great day artil boy

Nice review. Thanks for bringing me back on memory lane. I bought mine when I was stationed in NC back in ‘84-‘85. These knives were the tool to have. BTW, I was an artillery cannon crew man.
This is discontinued Out there.
These knives were everywhere in the 1980s. Now you can't find them anywhere.
Good luck finding one now
