  • Next review is on the Ontario M7 bayonet. This will be a quick look review with edits. I got this at Midwayusa way back in 2012 and I've had it for while. This is a military issue bayonet and made in USA. I got this for over $70. The downside is the finish on the blade gets scratched when placing it inside the sheath. The metal retainer scratches the finish on the blade when you place in and out. Overall no problems with it at all. You can get one just about anywhere and for over $70.

Thank you for your video. Regarding 4:55, that metal hook is not for strapping the scabbard onto your leg. Instead that metal hook was used to hang the scabbard onto the M1910 pistol belt which had metal eyelet holes that fit that metal hanger hook. Regarding 5:17, that is not Paracord. Instead that is flat braid boot lace which was used as the lanyard to attach through the hole at the bottom of the scabbard and then be strapped onto the thigh of the wearer. If you do not prefer your M7 Bayonet's Parkerized coating being scratched by the M10 Scabbard, then you can get the M8A1 Scabbard which does not scratch. Chronologically the M8A1 Scabbard preceded your M10 Scabbard.

Your welcome, I got this 10 years ago been that long. It's still in great shape and never been used. The metal retainer is what scratches the finish on the blade. You can always change the sheath.

I got this way back in 2012 and one of my first knives I bought online. The downside to it is the finish on the blade gets scratched by the metal retainer when placing it in and out of the sheath. Overall great bayonet.

You could see to getting a leather sheathe for that stiletto bayonet...
That should fix the scratched blade issue

They do have the original green sheath. I can get one and switch to a different style no problem.

Very nice M7...its still used in army...I like they put shoelaces instead of paracord since WW2 scabbard I think M8A1 for M3 knife (later for M7)..and the brass pistol belt grip has remained too....

@@Bates1960 The scratching is common...never mind...they recommend to put some viscous oil near the place ...or I think the retention system is possible to pull out and replace,or provide duct tape on the retention...I believe that it is also possible to adjust the retention so that the pressure is not so great...
