Great video! I recall crossing paths with Continental Divide riders from the Tetons all the way down to Hartsel CO while I was doing the TransAm. We slept behind the bar in Hartsel too. Your trip is truly inspirational. Besides all of the scenery in your video, I thought the toaster house was a nice touch.
A great addition to the GDMBR is to start in Jasper and ride the Icefields pkwy to Banff. It gives you more time in the Canadian Rockies which are quite spectacular. I rode the GDMBR back in the day and always enjoy these videos so I can do a little reminiscing.
Thanks for the suggestion. I've heard the Icefields pkwy is very scenic. I decided to start in Banff on this ride because my son had limited vacation time and had to catch a train in Whitefish. I also would have liked to do the alternate routes in Canada. Maybe in the future I'll do the Canadian portion again and include the Icefields Pkwy and the alternate routes.
Thanks. You just got me interested in this route. I might want to put this on my bucket list. I won't have to travel far to the starting point. Any advice?
Great video! Hopefully you spotted cooler at road just past kremmling on ute pass just before climb, time 22:40 before camping Silverthorne. It would have been on your left with bike decor at road. Love watching these videos of what y'all actually do.
@XPartnershipProgramX I'm trail angel, sometimes I'll comment and have met others I don't rember myself. All good! I dot watch race, meet most GPS out here. Not gonna name drop.
@XPartnershipProgramX thanks again video, very sweet job. I always wonder meeting riders what y'all actually do. I will ride it bike one day from border Canada to home on ride. Not sure when but I'll do it!
@@stevenutepass7671 plan the ride (fun) and go, if you really want it! You’ll never know what the future will bring! You’ll regret when things can’t be done anymore…… I plan to (and will go) next July, take my time… indefinite paid leave, retirement!😜
@mennosolarquest I plan ( bucketlist) on it from the border to my place, tell folks I'm riding home. Next year, definitely stop by or spend night here camping, plenty of space just over 10 acres, it's Cr #3 Utepass MM 14.5 on left going south, top of Utepass is MM 5. TH-cam blind guy biking Chris Smith and I think video is steamboat to Breckenridge you'll see the front gate, cooler & bike decor. If you will have GPS on trackleaders shoot me your info and I'll watch for you coming, have my lady cook you up a meal. Pass the word, open to all bike riders! Cheers!
Thanks for watching. I spent 64 days on this trip, with 57 riding days and 7 rest days. This was a good pace for me and many of the people I rode with, allowing enough time to enjoy more than just the cycling, while avoiding overuse injuries. Some prefer a faster pace because of time limitations or just being younger, stronger or more competitive.
Thanks. We started on July 8th. I finished on September 9th. I had 7 days off and a few half days. This was a comfortable touring pace for me and matched well with several other riders so I could have company.
I took 64 days (57 riding plus 7 resting). This was a good touring pace for me. It allowed enough time to enjoy the sights and people and avoid overuse injuries without keeping me away from home too long. Many go at a faster pace because of time constraints or just a more competitive attitude or higher fitness level.
Top video
Thanks
That was great video. The mud part was really good :)
Thanks 👍
Loved the music. Great video!

good video. could have done without any of the music in the video, but awesome adventure. well done!
Wow what a journey! Do you recall how the roads to the trailheads of Hachita Peak or Big Hatchet looked when you were there?
Sorry, but I didn't notice those roads, since I was not planning to hike there.
@@ronaldcohen9445No worries! I suppose those are considered side quests along the CDT. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us!
