A wonderful document of this ride. I did it in 2022 and it was the hardest physical thing I've done in my life. I related to the ups and downs you experienced. What shocked me with this film was that you actually had the energy and where-with-all to actually film it. It was all I could do to keep going sometimes, and to take time out for shots, set up cameras, power up a drone, etc. is just amazing. What a great gift to future TD riders. Congrats on finishing both the ride and this film.
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it! It can be tough out there for sure hey, and definitely a hard task to film the whole way. Often I have to convince myself to set up a shoot or get the drone out because I felt like I was racing the clock but I feel like I had a good balance in the end. Hope you had a good Tour mate!
@@JackScottkeogh I got food poisoning on day 2 - the day of the Wall. Then I hit the first multi-hour hike-a-bike through snow at Galton's Pass. It almost killed me. Then I started reading about all these people - 16 total - who had to be rescued via helicopter and realized this event was no joke. Like you, I just had to take it day by day. I wanted to quit often but somehow kept going. I couldn't believe I finished. I applaud your efforts to document the ride, and I think you did a very nice job at that (the drone footage and 3rd-person-view set up shots are really great). I find it sad that having one's ride filmed has become so controversial. Documenting something allows you to share it with others. I don't think I would have done the Tour Divide if I hadn't seen "I Just Want to Ride". Maybe others will do it because of your film. Cheers to that!

Hey Jack! This is Brian, rode with you over the pass into Idaho and that night we got stormed on in the Basin. Great video and congrats on your finish!
I've watched a lot of Tour Divide films. Yours is one of the best Jack. Simple, but beautiful photography. You really got across just how hard the race must be. Truly inspiring. Thanks for sharing this.

I was out there this year so it was really fun to relive the mud and headwinds through your lens. But what an adventure and the feeling at the end makes all those hard times fade away and all those short encounters with people along the way make is a trip of a life time. Well done!

Howdy, great ride and video, congratulations! It is a huge feat to finish. Old road touring cyclist here, I've ridden half of the Great Divide. The mountains, weather, trail surface, climbs, even some descents are difficult. The easiest section is that 40 mile rolling area south of Lima, MT. Enjoyed it mate. Helluv an experience in tough conditions. As a video creator myself I think I'm most impressed that you persisted on through those hardest days and continued to put the effort in to film. Thanks mate! I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks for a very thoughtful comment
What a challenge dusted! There's nothing like suffering to let us know we're alive - and to help us appreciate when we're not suffering! Getting ready for a self-supported tour of my own making. (My diary won't be half as nice as yours but you gave me something to strive toward!)
Thanks for the kind words! Sounds epic! Where are you off to?
Excellent documentary of your journey! One of the best I’ve seen!
this is truly magical telling of this ride. A major inspiration to people who have never bike packed. I'm new to riding off-pavement and this is pushing me to find new routes and push what i'm looking at as possible. Congrats and thank you for taking us along for the ride!
Thanks mate! happy to hear that and thanks for dropping by with such a nice comment. Enjoy getting off road, it's much more enjoyable in my opinion!
Jack!!!! Outstanding on so many levels. I'm sure you have sown seeds of adventure in many camps...... bloody good man :)
Thanks mate! I'd like to hope so, that's what it's all about!
What a huge accomplishment🎉
I really appreciated the honesty you shared during low points like losing your sunglasses or the punishing wind. The emotions get very real when you push yourself like that. You've definitely inspired this oldie to try it some day. Thank you!
Thanks a ton! I hope you get yourself out there!
Beautiful film. Thanks for taking the time to film it and sharing it with us.
Thanks!
You are amazing, great film and very well done, you even made the washrooms look comfortable for sleeping!
Thank you! Surprisingly enough, they were the most comfortable option at the time haha
Thanks for the journey. It's been a decade since I finished the Tour Divide -- surprising how many places I recognise! Perhaps not. It's such an epic experience...
Thanks mate! Glad you enjoyed it
Grear Vid Jack, well done. Thanks for taking us along.

So flippin cool! Thoroughly entertaining. I bet that is a pretty amazing feeling having finished that sucker.
Glad you enjoyed it! It was a pretty unreal feeling
Loved the film. Great documentary of highs and lows of the divide. A great inspiration. Chapeau.

Thank you. I enjoyed every minute of it. You did well.
Dude!!!! Great stuff. Very inspiring. Thank you for all the extra effort it took to video while taking care to finish.
Hi from mike A. From LA.CA. Thanks for this video. You and the other riders that entered this MOST EPIC JOURNEY have so much energy strength and courage to do this adventure. You surely had your ups and downs.thanks for the adventure and CONGRADGULATIONS on an EPIC FINISH..
Cheers Mike! Thanks for the nice comment mate
Enjoyed it mate. Helluv an experience in tough conditions. As a video creator myself I think I'm most impressed that you persisted on through those hardest days and continued to put the effort in to film. Even on a day video I find the quality of shots and content diminishes the more tired I am and the later in the day it gets. Great film dude!
Thanks mate! Glad you enjoyed it! I definitely felt that way a lot of the time but I just forced myself to capture as much as I could
Respect for the achievement. Also respect for always appreciating the incredible beauty along the way.
Thanks Joel! Glad you enjoyed it mate! and thanks for stopping by!
What a great wonderful documentary. Great job, man!

This is the first video I've ever seen from your channel, immediately subscribed and gutted to see only 4 videos on your channel! Hopefully many more to come.
Great content, keep it up 👍
More on the way mate! Thanks for watching!
Dude, this is so well put together! Brings back heaps of great memories and I remember so many parts of this vid. I need to go back now!! 🇺🇸 thanks for putting together man. Can’t wait to see the rest of this vid.
Thanks legend, glad you enjoyed it mate! This year was a little less snowy than 2022 hey!
I love your adventurous spirit. This and the PCT! Well done👊🤗
Thanks for your kind words!
Thank you for sharing. Very cool. A dream of mine. Soon.
Wow, epic ride. Now, that is a challenge of willpower. Congratulations, well done.

Wow great video mate! I’ve watched way too many TD videos and yours is absolutely one of the best! Excellent footage and fitting music made this very enjoyable.
Congratulations on the ride, overcoming a lot of challenges besides the challenge of the trail. Thanks for sharing,
Thanks a ton!
Thanks man, loved this film, the honesty about feeling low made it all the more genuine, mate I get low points on a 3 hour ride.
Glad you enjoyed it mate! Riding definitely has it's up's and downs doesn't it
That was absolutely incredible. The commitment to set the camera on the ground during a hike a bike, then go back and get it...unreal. The commitment to see it through, respect my friend!
Thanks mate! It definitely adds a whole other element to the ride, and it gets harder the more tired you get haha thanks for the props mate!
Absolutely amazing and honest account of this race. Well done on every aspect of such an adventure. There is nothing in life that you can’t do with your type of determination and drive. Enjoy it all brother!
Thanks for the kind words!
Hey Jack, missed you by 2 hours at the finish.
I didn't realise you were sick before the ride - I knew your achilles was giving you grief but you were always upbeat when I ran into you and never complaining.
Thanks for putting this video together. It's a good overview and great fun to go back over the race once more ...from the comfort of home!
Rich
Rich! How are ya mate? Good to hear from you.
Glad you enjoyed it mate, hopefully see you out there again some day!
Inspirational. Pure and simple. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks mate! I appreciate that
Awesome film, sending out positive vibes the whole trip💪💪💪
Thanks for sharing your journey of thr Divide! I am amazed with the quality of the film. To do something so hard and then to film it all is really something. Thank you!
Thanks for the compliment! It's definitely a balancing act when trying to ride and make a film at the same time!

Enjoyed every second of that. Epic ride and fantastic production of the video showing the ups and the downs.
Thank you very much, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
What an accomplishment!! Congrats!
Watched the entire video mate, felt like I was there with you (through all of the ups and downs). Congrats, until the next journey.
Thanks mate! Glad to have you along for the ride!
Jack how you don't have thousands more subs I don't know. This was excellently done (from someone who watches a TON of documentary videos), just epic and thank you so much for taking me on a journey I'm too old to do, I envy you your adventures. This does inspire me so much, I'm training hard and working towards doing a century, we'll see what the future brings. Everyone needs challenges, it's what makes life worth living. Hope to see so much more from you in the future.
One of the nicest comments I have had.. thanks for watching and dropping me some nice words! I’ll get there one day I’m sure!
You’ll smash a century! And you better pop back here when you do to let me know how you went!
This was a bloody brilliant film Jack and an epic adventure. Nice one.
Cheers Pete! Glad you enjoyed it mate!
Congratulaciones Señor, great job..
Such a holy Grail, that fence and you made it. Super impressed with your filming and editing .. combined with the riding ... holy crap what a massive effort! I'm much older than you, but inspired to start pushing my own riding boundaries and get out there before clock stops ticking. Plus extra Kudos for being a Brissy lad!
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it! and thanks for such nice compliments
What a beautiful experience! Thanks for sharing the highs AND the lows. As we both have learned, it's the lows and how we manage them that give us our true sense of identity and confidence.
Glad you enjoyed! The lows are almost as good as the highs aren't they, otherwise it's not much of an adventure!
@@JackScottkeogh so are you ever doing this again??
