The sniper actually does put another bullet into his rifle. You can’t see it in game, but you can see at the end of meet the sniper that he actually pulls the bolt back and grabs a bullet from his shirt pocket and puts it in before pushing the bolt forward again. All before the ejected bullet casing even hits the ground...

The Medic's syringe gun is based on real life syringe guns. The little bulb that the Medic puts into the gun to reload is actually an air canister, implying that there is an infinite supply of syringes, but you have to load more air into the gun to propel them.
so when he runs out of ammo, he only runs out of air??

This is the same universe where this same man can bring anyone back to life, and fix major injuries in a matter of seconds.
The reload sounds actually kinda makes sense now, since it sounds vaguely similar to putting a new cO2 canister into an airsoft gun and breaking the seal on it.
In TF2 lore, the guy who sells the weapons to the mercenaries cares not about function or reason. He pretty much hot-glues miscellaneous gun parts together and sells them with even stranger hats. It kind of makes sense that these guns defy all known logic of weaponry.
But lets be honest, we all have fun with those guns and we wouldnt want them any other way

In the original design of The Black Box, it was meant to have 4 barrels, but the game devs couldn't get the rockets to shoot out of different points on the rocket launcher, so they fell back to having it be single barrel instead. They also strangely have it only hold 3 rockets, as opposed to the 4 that it should be able to hold, making it one of the few weapons in the game to hold less ammo than it could in real life.
wdym? it was a community made item, and all the concept art only has 1 barrel.
M202 FLASH is the rocket launcher it's based on, which has 4 barrels.

What I said had *absolutely nothing* to do with how many shots the weapon has versus how many barrels it has, and entirely to do with the weapon it was based on. I already made that clear, stop bringing up irrelevant game mechanics.
Honestly it's a shame the Mythbusters stopped when they did. Would have been hilarious if they tested to see if the physics behind rocket jumping are even possible in real life. Assuming the rocket wouldn't hurt you, could you actually use an explosion like that to ride high into the air?

They kinda did with the 1000 lbs. Bomb in the train station. Don't remember how that one panned out but it was a similar concept.
I suppose a large enough rocket exploding at your feet would have some ability to chuck your lifeless corpse several feet into the air.

It was a bit disappointing actually because the system they had for dropping Buster onto the mock train station failed and he fell way off target, but they declared it busted anyway because of the sheer amount of flying debris that would have absolutely killed him (including an iron bar completely wrapped around a tree branch).

shots are stored in the bottom barrel, and then sent to the top (maybe via a piston or something) and then fired out the top.

An interesting part of Pyro using the flare gun as a weapon is that many of their weapons aren't actually weapons. They can equip things such as mailboxes, garden rakes, and fire axes as melee weapons. The flamethrowers are also canonically improvised weapons.

This man is not just a firearms expert, he also knows his video games. I was impressed that he noticed the similarities to Quake, which is very accurate, considering that the original Team Fortress was just a Quake mod for Counter Strike.
quake is one of the earliest movement shooters, and probably, except for halo or tf2 nowadays, the most well known
almost correct but not a quake mod for counterstrike. it was originally a mod for Quake, then valve hired the team that made the mod and wanted them to port it to half life 1's engine.
He probably played Quake when was young.

I suspect what is reloaded to the Syringe Gun is some sort of compressed air or pneumatic component to fuel the ejection of the needles, and that due to the size of the needles, the drum can hold the full 150 maximum capacity of syringe rounds that these guns typically carry without needing to be changed too often.
Just imagine his reaction to Aperture Science's weapons. They fire the whole bullet. That's 65% more bullet per bullet!

I love TF2's meta humor. I'd imagine many people who unlock the Ullapool Caber probably try to figure out how to actually throw it, frantically looking for the correct button so they can get back to playing. But you don't. You blow it up in your face by pummeling someone with it, because your character is drunk.

The 2-barrel grenade launcher actually originally did fire 2 grenades, but it was changed in a balance patch on 4 September, 2012. Other TF2 weapons I'd like to see you react to: Sydney Sleeper, Rainblower, Beggar's Bazooka, Loose Cannon, Huo-Long Heater, Showdown.

the thing is that most of these weapons have somewhat realistic animations it's just that the game has been coded and changed by so many different programmers and developers that it's pretty buggy on top of that currently the game has only one to two developers working on it so if it's not game breaking it will most likely stay like that leading to unfinished looking animations like for the ambassador or the grenade launcher

The Loch 'N Load fired only two grenades when it was first released. It was subsequently changed to three rounds but they kept the model the same.

Yep -- the _explosion_ hits the user, but it won't kill anyone on full health without the damage from the melee hit.

Fun fact: a lot of reloads were more realistic early on in the game, fro example the revolvers had a catch and bullets actually were removed and put in. But when the game added cosmetics and this brought server speeds down they had to minimise reloads so that processing could still operate better.
I don’t know why, but every time I watch one of these videos, my entire recommended is filled with more of them.

of all the overanalising i have ever seen, i love his the most. his vast knowledge allows for his explanations to the perfect note between understanding where the desing "came from" ; what its "supposed to be" or what the dev was "trying to do there" paired with reallife examples and theoreticize wether the design might be realistic or not. even after watching silly episodes like TF2 or Doom i end up feeling i learned something.

Ex the stock pistol, luger, revolver, and several other shotguns such as the force of nature. Also that's part of the game lad the goofiness of the guns adds color to a game that literally uses cartoon graphics.

After so many years of playing TF2 i've forgotten just how creative, run and amusing everything about it is. His boyish grin during most of the video brings me back to the beginning and reminds me just how clever of a game it is.
