As someone who grew up watching these wars, I do too. I wish wrestling would've progressed instead of taking a step backwards. I was a teen when Raw and Nitro went head to head on Monday's and I loved every minute of it. Even the cringe worthy stuff.
To paraphrase Jim Cornette (who said it about Sable): I don't know what they got from putting a live mic in front of Ahmed Johnson, but it should have been 3-5 years.
Well, she did legit break her (Asari's) nose in that spot so, yeah. Kong was reckless in the ring and didn't have a lot of women that could stand up to her and, IMHO, believed in her gimmick a bit too much. If you watch her Japan stuff in period she was right at home in the FMW style hardcore/stiff style of the time and looked out of place in North America. Interesting woman with an interesting history.
At this point, Hogan is getting boo’d more then cheered by fans. I don’t blame them, the Hulkamania gimmick is so cheesy and tired by this point. Its weird seeing Hogan, Savage and Sting out doing a promo and Hogan is being boo’d while Macho and Sting are getting cheers. Eventually when Hogan went heel, he even brings up how the fans turned on him and that’s what drove him to Nash and Hall
While I love that you actually listen to your audience, I prefer content creators to be critical. It's your channel and your opinions are obviously going to be a big part of your videos. There is no such thing as 'unbiased' reviews. Don't ever shy away from constructive criticism.
Agreed. Maybe the comment sections on other videos are more critical of his approach, but this one in particular is almost unanimously positive. Other than his minor mathematical error at the end, ha ha.
Watching these makes me realise how much WWE advertised their stock. Like its every week and you think people would get the point and be sick to death of it
Been spiraling out the some pretty dark places lately. Thank you for this bright spot in an other wise bleak couple of days in my head. Edit: Eddie Guerrero is a God dammed home town hero.
This is so cool watching wrestling history, thank you so much for taking the time to put this together. I wasn't even born yet in 1995, but have a strong interest in wrestling history, and feel like I've actually lived it by watching this. And I feel strangely nostalgic for an time I wasn't living in yet.
"Some genius decided to give Ahmed a little promo time" broooo bios with the shade hahaha!!! But Johnson his promos sounds like my dad at the buffet line hahaha!!!
I got an idea for this series when the year ends you should make a brand new list for 1996 and keep the 1995 results and see who had the better wrestling shows by year when we look back on it!!
I like this! I am planning an "end of year" special episode too.. talking about the best matches, MVPs, show structures etc. Thanks for the suggestion.
I love "Reliving The War" so much! It's one of the best things of TH-cam right now! And when it ends. Maybe we'll get a "Reliving The War" for NXT and Dynamite. But Wrestling Bios. This is the best! Keep it up!
I'll say this when I was 9 years old, I loved Thunder. I was so hot for the WCW and pro-wrestling at the time that I convinced myself it was good. However I tried to go back and look at the first Thunder as an adult and I was so bored by it that I couldnt even finish the show. To me it as an adult, it just felt like a glorified recap show with a few matches on it.
Watching these videos, is like reliving my childhood, where I cared ,and couldn't wait for next week...im ashamed of the product thst is out today..no wonder my son could care less, when i can't either
R.I.P Brian Pillman- One of the greatest pioneers of aerial offense. Orndorff confronting Pillman was classic old school wrestling. Rick & Arn aren't even looking at a him during his promo. It's still odd seeing Sean Waltman & Sid in the same stable. The MDC was the definition of hodge podge groups. Randy ( R.I.P. ) looked awesome as the World Heavyweight Champion!
@@jordandupe398 also there’s other promotions like AEW, Impact, NJPW, ROH etc that I can also get Into but man do I wish I got to see the Monday night wars unfold.

I look forward to these episodes almost as much as I looked forward to watching The Monday Night Wars, back in the day! Absolutely love these awesome trips down memory lane. Another amazing video. 👍
I never understood the appeal of Backlund, he just always struck me as the angry grandpa who everyone at the family reunion tried to point him towards the plant to argue.
If i wasn't able to watch wrestling anymore, and could only watch this series i would be completely happy with that. I hope you keep these going past the wars, and just do review videos of each episode or something. Thank you for all your hard work! WWF creative in 1995: “We’ve got one of, if not the best worker in the business, what should we do with him at In Your House 5?” Also WWF creative in 1995: “Throw him in there with Diesel”
Well, Bret Hart had a really great match with diesel the month before I guess the idea was Owen could probably have a great match too? Though if I remember correctly it wasn't really that good It was mostly a one sided affair I think it would have been better if they gave Diesel Yokozuna with the idea being he wants to face the biggest baddest guy and former world champion and Owen could've wrestled Hakushi since WWF never really used him much on PPV after Summerslam and he was incredible
You do a fantastic job with these. I know how I would score each episode with my heart, but you are always objective, which I appreciate. Thank you so much, and please, keep'em coming!
I remember watching the Backlund vs Hart Match as a child. I kept askinf myself how my Hero Bret could lose against this weird old man... Thanks for this trip down memory lane. You're awesome 😘

I remember nitro being on for years in the mid to late 90s on channel 22 which was cartoon network during the day and tnt in the evening on Friday nights. I stopped watching wcw around 99 and stuck with wwf
Went back and watched that Shawn Michaels interview I remember being scared at the time that Shawn was going to die when he collapsed in the ring and Vince McMahon seemed genuinely upset about it but watching it now at 31 years old it just makes me laugh especially Vince gushing over Shawn and being all heartbroken and just begging people to love Shawn so different from the Mr McMahon character
A lot of people seem to think WCW only became relevant when the nWo formed, but even in 1995 they beat the WWF in the ratings every now and then. It was more Hogan's character not working as well until he turned

All I could think of recalling during the Paul vs Disco match is looking at Orndorf's right arm and being sick. It's a noticable injury and it's distracting.

I remember this time well as I was 16 about to turn 17 and I always wondered why this old man(Backlund) was champ for a minute and always on top of the card...
I love his other content though! I don’t want this to be the only thing on his channel. He has great specials and bios that i want to continue being made.
I botched the scores at the end. Apologies. Thats what happens when you watch Ahmed Johnson promos. It's actually 4 points to Raw.
Was about to comment just listened to it at work and was like ahy? It’s 4 for raw but your spot on with the nitro win.
Just one quick fun fact Mr JL it is actually Jerry Lynn
Understandable.

You should do a monthly weekend show to where you compare that months ppv the exact same way you do the weekly shows.
