      Thank you I have learned an old story From a couple old timers here that Billy the Kid was held up and surrounded by Indians Here when it was just a ranch hand shack . They had them surrounded and was waiting them out to run them out of water And Billy had crawled out in the middle of the night On his belly up the Creek and filled the canteens Across the highway from me where Sunnyside Spring is.

      @@runzwithwulvz6592 That's a hilarious story ... because Ft Sumner was established before BTK was ever come to the area... and there is no history of any Indians upsetting or killing our up rising in the area. In fact, Ft Sumner was the holding area for mass amounts of Indians forced off their land by the US government. Are you interested in buying a bridge over the San Francisco harbor? I would sell it to you really cheap... I hear Geronimo once jumped off of it ... thus giving birth to the term GERONIMO !!!! 😄😆😅😂

      I am fully aware that It is not THE Maxwell house. It was a ranch hand shack originally. that was owned by the Maxwells that sits on what was their Land Hate to burst your bubble lol. If you want to learn some more history this property also was once a stagecoach stop on the Good night loving trail. When I 1st moved here to Fort Sumner 2 years ago I did not know much about the history. After being here and working at the Billy the Kid museum for a year I've learned a lot. The sweet family have taught me a lot about the history of this area and straighten me out on a couple of things I was missed led on.

So in regards to that...I think that you are a very lucky person to own a piece of American history. This property was once owned by the maxwell family. The house has been added onto over the years. Rock,stucko,timber. But was originally a line shack for ranch hands of Peter maxwell. William H. Bonney is said to have stayed in the original rock dirt floored shack. I have heard several stories , but they are exactly that stories.

      If that is true then you would know that this property Was owned by the Maxwell family. not the house the house was Built-in the thirties before that it was just A-line shack dirt floored ranch hand shack. The old timers that I am buying this house from have a giant painting of Peter Maxwell , That was painted by a local woman that comes with the house. this house and property have massive amounts of history and character to It. I work at the Billy the Kid museum here in Fort Sumner. There are artifacts that were found around this property, That are displayed in the museum. I have no idea if Billy ever set foot here, Chances are he did. I just call it the Billy the Kid House because I Want to I also call it the Fort. These videos were created for my family to follow us on our journey, To new Mexico. It's not for haters who think they know everything.

      This property was owned by Peter Maxwell. There are artifacts in the museum from Billy Found near this property. Billy worked for Peter Maxwell, Billy was all over this town Fort Sumner. I don't know where you get your information. But why don't you try not being an asshole.

    • @ryanpester552
      @ryanpester552 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yep this has nothing to do with Billy the Kid. Saying this property is Maxwell's is like me driving to Mosquero NM in some random locations with a house on site saying this was owned by Pete Maxwell because he owned all this land. Here's a little spoil alert. Not everything in that museum in Ft Sumner that is said to be BTKs or otherwise ever came from BTK.

      @@runzwithwulvz6592 I know you deleted my first reply. But as I said. Pete Maxwell owned half of what we now know as New Mexici and half of west Texas, on a single land grant, which was revoked just a few years after his death. All of the real estate brokers in those areas now sell properties based on that. To anyone they can hoodwink.

      @williamcrowder2226 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@usmcmustang2972 That is a fact. Also Colorado. Land was not yet subdivided and few had lines of credit. This property was probably just lease-on for ranchers from all over who operated under the Maxwell name. He never set foot on this site. He lived on the Pecos.
      He owned 1,714,765 acres and is known as the Maxwell Land Grant. 20% of the people in NM with a mortgage have the same claim as living on Pete Maxwells old place.
