Yep, you got it 100% again. She's reminiscing about her parents who died when she was very young, so also spot on about 'potentially through the avenue of death'. She's in the late stages of what's effectively incurable magic-cancer. It's alluded to a couple of times in the song where she mentions the loss of sight or hearing, both of which are failing her and may potentially be lost soon. And while there are the obvious connotations of closing her eyes and drifting forever, that also work as an allusion to giving in or losing to the disease and its symptoms. I love the storytelling they do with these songs however subtle or obvious they decide to be with them. Being more obvious works thematically here since it's written as though addressing her parents.
You can call her Adele,since the event CN event this song comes from is "So Long Adele",the first time we get told Operator Eiːjaˌfjatla(Eh-uh-fe-at-la) real name,her code name was taken from the Eyjafjallajökull volcano from Iceland,which last erupted on the 14th of April 2010,which ties in with her volcanologist parents who perished to a volcano,with her becoming one herself. The event itself is one massive fever dream,considering we're fighting literal sheep,one of which is a nice PVZ reference by having a traffic cone over its' face.
There are a couple of lines of dialogue in the latest event that imply that Eyjafjalla (ay-yah-fee-yah-lah) is going, at least partially, blind and deaf due to Arknights' version of cancer. That's what I got about her missing someone - her friends and family once she's gone.
Well, she is already partially deaf and blind, the question is "Is it stable now ?" Or at least, "Did it get worse only by a bit and not more ?". As for the other part, her parents died because of an eruption during an expedition on a volcano, and, well, she miss her parents, that's why the "So long, Adele", it's more the last goodbye from her parents to her (+ a bit more lore about the Beast Lords, to the very least we get to know one more).
@@otagamexe2004 her hearing definitely got worse since she's can only hear in a very quiet environment, and must rely on lip reading to understand what the other person is speaking.
This is just to add to the comments about the Magical Rock Cancer simplification~ It's not just slowly depriving you of bodily functions like hearing, sense of touch, sights etc. Your whole body will slowly crystalize if not dealt with and its incurable. It also doesn't end with death like cancer does where it dies with you, as long as your infected whether light or heavily infected, everyone will die the same way by turning into a source of energy and infection. Because guess what~? That crystal that body is made out of is also what's providing electricity to every major city in that planet. You essentially turn into Radioactive material thats both dangerous yet crucial to society~🎉
