I'm from India and I will support this strong movie to get awarded by the prestigious Academy Award, the category of 'Best Director' in special consideration.
I watched this movie today (27.04.2022 Wednesday) at KIFF. What an amazing experience. Bittersweet emotions, grounded to reality, great scenery (especially the tomb of Xerxes) and very introspective. No CGI. Brilliant direction by Asghar Farhadi sir. Reminded me of “Taste of cherry” of Abbas Kiarostami. Mouth-watering shots of Iranian food 🥘 I hoped that at the end I’ll come to know who actually was who lost their bag. But that was not the focus of the movie. It taught me to be wary of being generous or noble. Not everything is tradable; some things are sanctimonious. The protagonist understands that at the end of the movie. And charitable organisations are just like corporate entities; they’ll forsake you the minute they see your reputation dwindle.

I love Mr. Farhadi’s movies. All of them are excellent but A Hero is the best so far. Farhadi is a fantastic master filmmaker, director, writer, social thinker/storyteller, and producer. I wish him all the best of health, happiness, and energy to continue his artistic work and make more masterpieces so we can enjoy them and think about them. I hope because of his movies we become sympathetic to others and better human beings with hearts as wide as the whole world to make small and big changes in our personal, social, psychological, and political life!
@@mlowe7245 Asghar Farhadi is Iranian. He may think of making a movie in Turkey our dear neighbors! one day. You never know. He has made movies in Spain as well.
Mr. Farhadi has said in an interview that the inspiration of the movie was from a newspaper clip about a man who was not able to pay back money to his wife and was put in jail. The issue of money, man, and the prison was a subject of his workshops with film students as well. It is not appropriate to do bad-mouthing toward our Iranian great storyteller. Mr. Farhadi’s film script is published and available online. He is a master storyteller and filmmaker! His movies take the audience to another realm of empathy for the characters’ personal, emotional, ethical, social, and cultural entanglement! Each movie is a mind-blowing and fantastic experience!
Farhadi deserves so much, director and screenplay nomination at least. Even an acting nom would be so good.

Just watched this film.
I can't say anything bad about it. Perfect. A masterpiece. The best Farhadi's film since "A Separation".
Absolutely!
So true, it's a masterpiece. Loved it thoroughly.
This should have been nominated. Asghar Farhadi needs a third nomination. Maybe next time

That would be better if he didn't steal the idea of the movie.
