Catching a swarm in a wet spring.

  • Old timers always told me that hives are more likely to swarm if they are constrained by rainy weather. More probably, wet weather keeps a beekeeper from their appointed rounds and the hives get ahead of them.

    Ha Phil enjoyed your video I have a question that is about your last one with the formic pro, The way u did it did u do a mite check to see if it worked. Your way did not kill anyone, and I liked that, but did it work. Thanks and have a Blessed week

      Mites were too low in the hives I checked to make a statistical inference. This treatment was to catch any resistant mites the apivar missed.

    Looks like you are catching some rains up there along with some swarms. Are you on a canola flow already?

      Yes early canola now running fast.
