    The automatic subtitles say ‘Depending in the time of day, he was invited to bathe - or died’ instead of ‘dine’. 😂

    Great. This should be shown to all high school students. So much can be taught in 20 minutes.

    Love. The greatest sovereign to grace the pages of history. Brilliant reconstruction. Thank You. I imagine this video should be looped at the Tivoli for tourists.

    I wanted to visit Hadrian's Villa on my last trip to Italy (May 2022) but was unable to make it there.
    It's on my list of place to see... and after watching this digital reconstruction... it just moved up a few spaces.

    A magical, enchanted place. I wandered around its nooks and crannies several times. Teatro Marittimo, Cento camerelle, Kanopus ... and many others, on which Publius Aelius has walked.

    It's disturbing to see badly painted statues in a Roman villa, especially when the buildings are left unpainted.

    I've always wondered how the Romans/Greeks could have eating lying on their side?
    You lean on an arm long enough, and it gets very painful.
    Nor could it hv been very healthy, putting their weight on the stomach that way.

    • @Imcalledel
      @Imcalledel 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lie down on your left side with a cushion under left arm. Most comfortable way to eat. What a strange statement you made. It's hardly difficult. Sitting up on hard wooden chairs is weird and uncomfortable and causes indigestion. Lying down to eat is very normal lol.

    • @Imcalledel

      it also takes pressure off the stomach as it's supported.

      @@Imcalledel……lying on your side is definitely not easy nor is it better for digestion….this was primarily done by the elite or wealthy as they thought it proper….
