Here is a quote from Angelina (7y) from an interview with TV2 after her Audions NTG 2014. "The reason I chose this song is completely random. I love jazz, but" Gloomy Sunday "was random. It was a night I could not sleep and my mother was stressed that I was awake long after midnight. Then I borrowed my mom's iPad where I wanted to listen to jazz on TH-cam before I fell asleep. Then came a picture of a beautiful lady screaming at the sky and with her eyes closed. I heard the song "Glommy Sunday" that night and then I had to hear it every day. I love the melody. I understood well what the text was about because I know English well. Every time I sang it I felt something special about it, it's hard to explain in words. When I sang it for mom, she said that this song is nice, but that it was incredibly sad song. " 💯 *AJ* 💯
Yes that was her mother in the wings crying over her daughter's performance and realizing she was giving up her child to the world for the first time (so I have heard). And pineapples to you, good sir :)
Thanks Omar for a great reaction and some really fun comments as well. Most of us Angel fans have seen this in it's entirety many times and never ever get tired of seeing this little girl absolutely kill this song made famous by Billy Holiday when she recorded it in 1941. Billy Holiday died in NY in 1959 at age 44. Amazing that a child this age would choose such a song to sing in competition but Angelina is not your normal child as you know. You would expect a child of that age to be singing, Mary had a little Lamb or something, but again we are seeing and hearing a musical genius prodigy young lady before us. Angelina's Grandma Mery Zamani, (a prodigy Artist & Poet born in Iran) exposed Angelina to the Jazz/Blues greats from a very early age and she just absorbed all that wonderful music of the past and it shine's through in her singing. 2 thumbs up sir.
The judges, in order of appearance, are: *Omer Bhatti* - dancer and rapper, also known under the stage name *_O-Bee_* th-cam.com/video/1byhNwmZX9k/w-d-xo.html *Lisa Tønne* - stand-up comedian and actress, awarded *_Best New Artist_* at the *_Norwegian Comedy Awards_* in 2002 _(sorry, not able to find any TH-cam vids other than in Norwegian without eng subs)._ *Mia Gundersen* - singer & actress. Started her acting career aged 8 and began singing in a band when she was 15. In 1986 she released an album as a solo artist th-cam.com/video/2Zbbq_eIrVI/w-d-xo.html, but probably most known for TV drama and musical theatre, where she had her major breakthrough as "Eliza Doolittle" in the musical My Fair Lady in 1990. And lastly, *Bjarte Hjelmeland* - actor, theatre director and musician. Made his stage debut in 1991 and had his most recent (as far as I know) appearance in the Norwegian TV crime drama "Livstid" (life sentence) premiered in 2020. Plays guitar and sings with his own country group th-cam.com/video/MfUOMEA1Cik/w-d-xo.html I don't claim these biographies to be in any way complete, but it gives you an idea of who they are As a bonus I give you a link to a short clip of Julie Andrews performing the song "I Could Have Danced All Night" as Eliza Doolittle from "My Fair Lady" th-cam.com/video/Xm_GWBJaRjQ/w-d-xo.html
Angelina has stated on several occasions that she doesn't get nervous performing because she thinks it's fun and she loves being on stage. The woman watching the monitor backstage was indeed her mother.
Yes Omar this is all true that the mother of the child was the lady by the curtain who was also the presenter…boy what a tongue twister. Takes me back to the 1955 musical-comedy, The Court Jester: “The pellet with the poison’s in the vessel with the pestle; the chalice from the palace has the brew that is true!”
Her as such a wee little girl she channels Billy Holiday. Now as a teenager she can sing Adele as well as Adelle and Amy Winehouse as well as Amy. As a young girl, she does a credible job of singing Elvis and Whitney although I'll give her a few years to equal them. She outsings other great singers on their own songs and takes other great songs and turns them into something new. When it comes to expressing emotion she equals or exceeds even the greatest singers of all time. One voice should not be able to do all these things, it is unheard of, especially when that voice belongs to a teenager. But what she can do now is amazing for any singer regardless of age, the fact that she is likely to get even better in the next few years is hard to consider.
Gloomy Sunday is known as the Suicide song. The song was banned in several countries because over 100 people takes their lifes by own hand. So they are astonished about her song choice. But Angelina met Billie Holiday one night on her mother's tablet and saw a beautiful lady singing to the moon and she began to love this song and presented in own beautiful way. This was my first time I met her and cannot leave
Hehe great reaction buddy, the judges are Mia = actress ,Omar dance / chorograp , ties with MJ ...Lisa ..is comedian an actress , Bjarte is also an actor multi artist must give a big credit to these judges that saw this back then ..what we all are discover now ; ))
Around this time Angelina had a couple tutors to help her keep pace with her studies. As Angelina was getting ready for a 'concert' or an appearance somewhere to sing somewhere, one of her tutors asked her if she wasn't nervous or anxious. Angelina had no idea what she was talking about. It took almost a half hour for her to explain to Angelina what she meant. Angelina was asked that question when she was older. She responded by saying, 'singing is like breathing to me. So why would I ever be afraid or too nervous to breathe?' She also said one time when she goes onstage her mind goes to a magical place where everyone is happy and everything is beautiful and nothing ever goes wrong. So that's why Angelina is never nervous when she sings. You would be well served to listen to Billie Holiday. They called her 'Lady Day'. She had a rough run through life. But she had that 'voice'. Not blessed with a great range in her voice she used techniques that were so mesmerizing that you hardly noticed. Billie had many inner demons that got the best of her at times and took a toll. She died in her 50's but left us with some great songs. And you knew her voice the minute she let a tone out of her mouth. Angelina revealed Billie's influence in another interview saying, "without Billie Holiday there is no Angelina Jordan." Thanks for your great reactions. They're all entertaining and have some little nugget to take away from them.
Yes, pineapple boy, the blonde woman with her hair pulled back (the first one crying with her hand to her mouth) is Angelina's mother. Angelina's family is amazing, so supportive, so appropriately protective, so loving. This whole family is magic. Thank you, truly, for your genuine reactions to Angelina. She's truly a musical genius and angel - we are all so privileged to be alive during this time to experience her life's journey like this. Maybe try Summertime next (it's what she sung to win Norway's Got Talent - she had just turned 8 yrs old I believe). Love your reactions! Keep 'em coming! Peace, bro. :)
One of Angelina's endearing traits has always been how she can sing a song so perfectly, then immediately morph back into a little girl, as she demonstrated here. Angelina said that her mother wanted her to sing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" for her audition. There was no way that Angelina was going to sing such a simple children's song on a National Norwegian TV talent competition. I watched this after hearing her audition of "Bohemian Rhapsody" on America's Got Talent in Jan. 2020 when she was 13. I wanted to hear how she got started at only 7 years old. I've been hooked ever since.
If you listen to Billie Holiday's version at 29, you will be blown away by the fact that both songs sound like they were made by the same person which is startling. It's as if Billie was reincarnated into Angelina, that's how much they sound alike. It is the first hint that this girl is human vocal chameleon, able to mimic anyone's sound whenever she wants to.
Billie Holliday is considered one of the premier American jazz singers. She died in 1959. Angelina was steeped in the jazz classics from that era by her grandmother, Mery. Angelina has covered songs from many of the jazz greats on YT.
Omar, nice video and this was, indeed, the official beginning of Angelina's introduction to Norway and the world. A little story for you: The woman crying backstage was her mom (Sara) and during an interview she was asked what did she feel like when she was crying. Her answer was that, of course she was so happy for her daughter, and proud of her, BUT, also that she would be losing her daughter because of her fame and popularity. Well, of course, that never happened and never will. Her family is so beautiful and we, her 'Angels', love them as much as we love her. Omar, when Angelina starts doing live Concerts she will take a moment to talk to the audience and she will tell them that her family is there with her in the audience. She will point them out and the crowd will stand and give them an extended ovation to let them know how they feel about all of them. Angelina actually wrote an original song about her love for her family and I strongly suggest you check out the video. The song is called 'Shield'. The judges? Interesting people and, in particular, you will like to find out about Omar's association with Michael Jackson. I'm sure someone will follow up and clue you in.
@@SeanBressie No, I don't. But I'll try to find it and get back to you. I may have taken some liberties with exactly what she said but the conversation did make Sara's feeling very obvious.
Btw, that's her mother. The blonde one, who is not the presenter. You see her at the end, next to the other blonde one, who is the presenter. And yes, of course, Omer was the first man who commented. Another fun fact about Omer, the judge Omer. His parents worked for Michael Jackson, his mum was a nanny for Michaels children I believe. And they lived with the Jackson family for many years, and Omer became a friend of Michael. Also btw, her grandmother isnt barefoot, god bless her, Angelina is. She has been performing barefoot ever since meeting that poor girl. You can even spot it in her last video, 'Easy on me', right at the end. And last but most importantly, yes pineapple, also on pizza.
In my opinion the most incredible feat can't be seen in this performance alone. Only if you know the rendition by Billie Holiday you will realize that a 7 year old girl studied Billie Holiday to the extent that they sound almost identical! I assume you will also get to the second round of NGT, where Angelina sang the song "I'm a fool to want you" a cappella. To be honest, the first time I've heard it by Angelina I thought she was off pitch at some point, but then a guy overlayed the vocals with the instrumental of Billie Holiday's record, and astonishingly, it shows that Angelina was pitch perfect! Therefore, if you want to be blown away, I suggest to listen to her a cappella performance first: th-cam.com/video/LXknLZDoRVQ/w-d-xo.html , then the mixed version: th-cam.com/video/6GJkqpODGuI/w-d-xo.html Strawberries!
Added: I see a lot of comments asking you to listen to her A cappela rendition of I’m a Fool To Want You. There are 2 versions of this, the one on TV and the ACTUAL one with the bridge still included, the latter found on Rusty Schackleford’s chronological list. Strongly suggest you go with the latter! 🌟🌟🌟
There's a movie called Lady sings the Blues that tells Billy Holiday's story. Diana Ross played Billy Holiday. Great movie and Diana Ross and Billie D. Williams were both fantastic
The blonde woman who was crying was her mom. She said she cried because in that moment she knew she had lost Angelina to the world. The other blonde at the end was a host. Yes I watched to the end!
Here's a link to the Billie Holiday original so you can hear how well Angelina nailed it. th-cam.com/video/XQ2AuLaClmk/w-d-xo.html I've heard Angelina said something along the line of, "If there were no Billie, there would be no Angelina."
That last judge was Bjarte, and he was completely blown away by Angelina when he heard her in the live shows. She sang Bang Bang and for the final, Summertime. If you react to them (recommended) do watch a version with the judges' comments. Pineapples!
Unfortunately, since you don’t know the song or Billie Holiday, much of this performance is lost on you. You can see, of course, that a seven year old has startling presence and vocal talent, but the most amazing part is that Angelina is channeling a truly legendary blues and jazz singer whose vocal style was unique and is immediately recognizable in music history. Angelina captures the soulful, despondent message of this famous Billie Holiday song and gives it to us with Billie’s style and inflections. We get the depth of tone, the vocal slides, the vibrato-all in pitch and perfect timing.
I didn't know Billy Holiday, didn't listen to much jazz growing up... But I got struck immediately the first time I heard her sing this song... I got emotional and couldn't believe a little girl this young could sound this good and convey more emotions than adults...
Unfortunately, people today are impatient, and things should happen quickly. This is to move on to collecting likes. So-called assembly line reaction. There was a reactor that said he started after 5 reactions to run out of songs from Angelina? (She has over 150 pieces ". All the reactor has to do is type her name in the search box and click on filterey and select "Number of plays". But then the reactor did not get so many comments from us ... Many reactors have a very leisurely behavior where a little micro-researsh would not have hurt.
Yes, you must listen to the original to truly appreciate how faithful this is. I had not heard the song before hearing Angelina sing it, and I was shocked when I finally did.
Omer Bhatti commented: “We were in shock when she started to sing…it was a discussion whether it was an impression of that kind of music (ref to Gloomy Sunday performance) or the real deal…and the next time we saw her, she owned the stage, when she rehearsed, she told the bassist what she wanted and had full control. And we were like…ok…you are a star…we have something special here…”
Omar Bhatti was a mini Michael Jackson, like a son to him,has all his dance moves. He became close to Angelina and her family, even driving them around. He said whenever Angelina would sing he had to stop the car and listen, because her voice is so beautiful.
Great reaction as expected Omar. I also had never heard this song before Angelina, so I checked it out right after this performance and was shocked at what Angelina had done. I went through the mother question also. Thumbs up mate, thanks again for your time and pineapple.
the presenter is Solveig Kloppen, the look of wonder and amazement @9:39 says it all. Angelina had two guardian angels looking after her at the two most pivitol times in her career.. Solveig on NGT and Heidi Klum on Americas got talent
If you want to realize just how amazing her performance is, here is a mashup of Gloomy Sunday here with Billie Holiday. th-cam.com/video/H_5_AT_N-pg/w-d-xo.html The last judge asked her if she knew what the song was about, why? This song was known as the “Hungarian Suicide” song and was banned in many countries. He knows this. Angelina in her glorious, pure, innocence says, Yes it’s about a sad Sunday.
Pineapple is good for the digestion, tasty besides. Yes, Angelina's maternal grandmother is Iranian, a well-known painter, and was a child prodigy in her own right, a poet at an early age. She went to Japan to study, where she met and married Angelina's late Japanese grandfather. When Angelina visited Japan she sang a song in Japanese. She must have been 8 or 10 then. You might want to consider reacting to some of Omer Bhatti's videos. He is a rapper & dancer, son of a Norwegian mother (I think), and a Pakistani father who worked at Neverland for several years when Omer was a child. He became very close to the Jackson family, almost like a brother to the Jackson kids. There is a persistent rumor that he is Michael's son, but it is apparently not true, just a rumor that people like to spread. Michael's influence can clearly be seen in his dancing, which you will see if you hunt down his videos.
the Simon Cowel in Norway is Actually the blond lady with the glasses "Mia Gundersen" she is kinda known for being strict, if you want you can sheck out some of "Mia Gundersen" who is one of the judges and a singer. Omer Bhatti is a rapper, he is also a judge btw, you can sheck out some of him if you want to
Thanks to Angelina, you heard of the name Billie Holiday. The legendary blues/jazz singer/songwriter that died 60 years ago. They have made many movies about her life and her music.
Billie was a great American jazz singer who is AJs inspiration. A recent biopic was done on her. For me to truly appreciate this performance I had to hear BH original of this song. AJ captures so much of the BJ qualities she could be a reincarnation. Even the indistinct pronunciation is from BHs accent and singing style. Maybe a bit from AJs youth and Norwegian.
Thanks for reacting to this emotional performance when Angelina honored her most favorite Jazz singer the legend Billie Holiday. Angelina, the Barefoot Angel, never disappoints with her heartfelt performances. “When the heart speaks, the soul listens.” I suggest to google and find out about the history of this song, and why it was prohibited to play in UK’s media during the war.
Omario, Singing for Angelina is like breathing, she was born to sing ! She is a singing prodigy, at 1-1/2 years old Angelina's grandmother, ( Mery Zamani ) enjoyed playing Jazz records for her to listen to. Angelina would try to sing in English along with the record , which is not her Norwegian native language . However, after being introduce to the world of jazz music listening to female Artist like : Billie Holiday, and Ella Fitzgerald, influence Angelina singing style which comes across in all her songs.
Pineapple!! The first crying lady is her mother. You should check out Billy Holiday. She is a legendary jazz singer. The best song to listen to is Billy's version of Gloomy Sunday and note how similar Angelina's rendition is. The reason the judge asked Angelina if she knew what the song is about, I think, is because Gloomy Sunday is a dark song that was called the suicide song. Apparently Angelina couldn't sleep, one night, and borrowed her mum's iPad and found a beautiful lady singing Gloomy Sunday. Maybe it was the spirit of Billy Holiday speaking to Angelina.
Well, I haven't watched all the video yet, I stopped at 10:10 to add this comment - The one you thought was hear mother is infact her mother, and the lady hugging Angelina just as she walks off stage is the presenter/host ... It's not the same person.
Her mother was the first lady behind stage when she was beginning to sing. The lady at the end that was talking to her was one of the members of the show staff...the presenter I think.
There are many covers by Angelina since she has sung songs popularized by more than 65 different artists. One artist she has covered is Etta James (I'd rather go blind, At last, Just loving you (originally titled, I just want to make love to you but changed for a young girl). Angellina does great with classic songs from the greatest artists like Sinatra, Elvis, Ella Fitzgerald, and more contemporary artists like Lana Del Rey and Rihana. She started with jazz through her grandmother and then picked up on various other artists and songs. I feel she is an empath who sings songs that speak to her state of mind and feeling for others. She has done excellent tributes to Whitney Houston, Amy Whinehouse, Aretha Franklin, and others. She now is signed with Republic Records; one short video shows her talking with a recording musician who says she is one of only three artists he knows who can sing a song front to back in only one take. She absorbs music into her being as evident in how quickly she mastered Easy on Me by Adele recently. Pineapples with you in your journeys with Angelina!
You should have watched the 4 song compilation of her appearances on Norway's Got Talent. Age 7/8 It's also shows her winning at the end. She sings this one first, then Billie Holidays I'm a Fool to Want You (acapella). Then Bang Bang by Nancy Sinatra. Last but not least is Summertime. 10 1/2 minutes long. Worth watching. th-cam.com/video/O2bX15tYFVk/w-d-xo.html Yes it was her mother. I read where she said she was crying because she knew she had just given Angelina to the world. One last tidbit: Her last name is Astar. Only fitting! Pineapples!💞
Unfortunately, people today are impatient, and things should happen quickly. This is to move on to collecting likes. So-called assembly line reaction. There was a reactor that said he started after 5 reactions to run out of songs from Angelina? (She has over 150 pieces ". Behind the scene, Angelina had with her, her little sister, her mother (that tall long woman), and she also brought her grandmother with her. Who has meant a lot to her. She is also a jazz singer. Everybody in her famely is involved in music in some way, she has an uncle who works as her manager.
Perfection 🥰 absolute perfection 👣👸🥰🙏 Thank you Angel-ina for sharing your soul with the world 🌎 ❤ wonderful reaction Omar, as always ❤ she is something truly special ❤ 👣👸
The first lady was indeed her mother, the last lady who hugged her as she came off stage takes the same role as Terry in AGT. Her father was also in that video.
Lisa Tønne is an Iranian/Norwegian actor/stand-up comedienne. Omer Bhatti, stage name OBee, is a Norwegian rapper/dancer, close ties with Michael Jackson’s family. Bjarte Hjelmeland is a Norwegian actor and theatre producer, sings and plays guitar. Man, you don’t know Billie Holliday, I feel old! I suggest you listen to her Gloomy Sunday, and a truly loaded song: Strange Fruit. (Spoiler alert: NOT pineapples!) Yes, that ‘yes?’ is really precious ❤👣🎶
Having a super Sunday? Not at all gloomy with a wake up call from you sir , and Angelina of course! Angelina introduced me to Billie Holliday also. Love your sense of humor, and good to see you back reacting to Angelina's music. This song has been tied to history concerning the the impacts of war, especially the great world wars. Just an astounding song choice to launch a 7 year old girl to stardom. Angelina in complete control from the start wouldn't you say? Feel an urge for pineapple for some reason. And maybe some pie. The humble pie watching a 7 year old talent phenomenon. Special special from the beginning IMHO!
2nd round of norways got talent she sang Bang, Bang. Angelina sang i'm a fool to want you as original audition and it was acapella. Summertime was her winning performance
It's a shame you didn't watch the entire video. You would have known who was her mother. From the beginning of the video through her 4 performances is the best way to see her most public start. I found her by accident early last year via America's Got Talent and her mind blowing rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody. I was hooked and have seen over 140 videos, many of them several times.
Thank you for your reaction. Please react to the other three songs she did. The second one was " I'm a fool to want you " acapella. Unbelievable! The third one you MUST know, " Bang Bang", actually better than Nancy S version.
You're welcome for me being me. (YUP, I watched the whole reaction through) It's not her grandmother who doesn't wear shoes to remind her of those in need, it's Angelina. I believe Angelina was 7 at the time of that meeting, and she later gave out a book about it. She became Norway's youngest published author, at the age of 9. I'll give you a link to Billie Holiday's original here : th-cam.com/video/KUCyjDOlnPU/w-d-xo.html Thanks for your appreciation for Angelina. And thank you for being you. I love your reactions❤❤ Love form Norway.
Cheers for your support of Angelina, mate. Angelina was the one who gave her shoes to the girl. Angelina wrote a book about her experience and became Norway's youngest published author. Here's a couple songs to get you up to speed on Billie Holiday and an Angelina recommendation: I'll Be Seeing You: th-cam.com/video/zDlKb2cBAqU/w-d-xo.html All Of Me: th-cam.com/video/NcBxXRVhV_o/w-d-xo.html For future reaction, a studio rehearsal by Angelina, age 11, for her recording of Billie's song I'm A Fool To Want You: th-cam.com/video/79tM-Spcr1Q/w-d-xo.html
Billie Holiday is the greatest jazz singer in history. You definitely need to binge on her music!!! Here is a playlist of some of my favorites. th-cam.com/play/PLC1goNmFjCMu_cR9n6xf3WA2S3x20QTrt.html
Where you stopped video showing Angelina's mom, Sara Astar, at 11:01 the rest of her immediate family is seen in the background. Her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman is holding Angelina's younger sister, Juliette. Standing in front of them is AJ's maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani.
@@YozhikvTumane Thanks, Yozhik. I've always wondered who that person was, but had no idea it was Michael, or even a relative. I did not realize Michael was even there as when Angelina described her family at the beginning of this video (not shown), the "sub titles" only translated her saying "Dad, little sister, grandmother and mom". Thanks.
Thanks for another wonderful Angelina reaction. Please consider reviewing th-cam.com/video/sZ25H4a2gPI/w-d-xo.html her cover of My Funny Valentine. This is a mostly unknown gem that gets overlooked by all serious reactors. She is 11 years old and sings this classic with so much ease, emotion and confidence, especially for her young age. But what makes it my favorite is how happy, upbeat and excited she is throughout the song which is a little different than all her other performances.
Many people, including myself, have thought for some time that Angelina was 7 in this audition. But actually, she was 8. She enrolled in this talent show when she was 7, but the pre-cast auditions were on January 10 thru 12, 2014. Angelina auditioned "Gloomy Sunday" on January 25, two weeks after the pre-cast auditions.
Just to get it right: The precasts were held Jan 10 - 12. (and as far as I know there is no video recording this). The audition with "Gloomy Sunday" was Jan 25. Have a nice day,Billy!
Billie Holiday is a legendary jazz singer of the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. Her oeuvre is large and significant but quite possibly her most famous song, and one of the most controversial American songs of the 20th century is “Strange Fruit”. Billie Hiliday was actually arrested and sent to jail for singing this song. I have included a link to a version of it but *WARNING* - this version is also controversial. It has been flagged by TH-cam as being highly offensive to some people and they have included a warning as well. For my European friends... you may not have heard of this song by Billie Holiday and the ugliness surrounding it. I again deplore you not to watch it if you cannot stomach images of lynchings that took place in the United States during the twentieth century. 😢 To my Angelina fans: I hope someday when she is old enough, that Angelina might perform a tribute to the difficult life of Billie Holiday by performing this song. I totally understand why, if she would choose not to. Again, do not watch this video if horrific images disturb you. As an American (US Citizen😬) I am posting this link because I believe this sad era in our nation’s history should never be forgotten. 😢🙏 Billie Holiday singing “Strange Fruit”: m.th-cam.com/video/kmmJSnZH3bw/w-d-xo.html&bpctr=1636308655
I saw that one actually happened I was on podcast is quite experience with Angelina opened her mouth I couldn’t believe what I was hearing she is truly talented and then I just got better and better and better over the years I actually saw her singing at the age of 1 1/2 and thinking jazz also I had a video where she is in bed with a diaper on the microphone bigger than her singing she did prodigy
It really is a shame that you have no idea who Billie Holiday is because you're missing most of the point of this performance. Billie Holiday is one of the most important vocal artists in jazz and has always been instantly recognizable and this 7-year old is channeling her perfectly. Europeans are very knowledgeable about jazz - much more so than Americans - and they all knew exactly what they were seeing. Omer (not Omar) Bhatti is a rapper and was extremely close to Michael Jackson's and his family and is the dark haired fellow, not the older guy. 😎
Don't forget English is her 3rd language mother is Norweign, father Sweedish, grandmother from Iran and grandfather Japanese. She went to Japan and sung in Japanese. She gave her winnings £50000 pounds to children's charity. Also now has given millions to climate change and charities. Amazing! 💕💞
Pinbeapple!! Omer Bhatti is the younger gentleman and is rumored to be a son of Michael Jackson and Paris Jackson, MJ's daughter, refers to Omer as her oldest brother. He is a dancer and rapper and has become friends with Angelina and her family over the years. The tall blonde you saw backstage wiping tears away is her mom is Sara Astar, wbich btw, is Angelina's true last name. Angelina Jordan Astar. You cracked me up a couple of times, esp. with who would hit the "X" button. If that has happened that judge would have been destroyed! LOL The reason the older judge asked do you know what the song is about is b/c it was given the nickname "the suicide song" in Hungary in the 30's due to the lyrics of the song supposedly there were several suicides. So that one comment you skipped over had some merit. You should now, own your own, go back and listen to Billie Holiday's original version to truly appreciate how incredible this performance really is! Billie Holiday is an American treasure as a jazz artist from the 40's thru the 60's and she had many issues with drugs and was treated so badly because of the color of her skin. Her most famous song is "Strange Fruit" and it is a very poignant song with a long history. The nest song on this NGT show is Angelina performing Billie Holiday's "I'm A Fool To Want You" a cappella!. Written by Frank Sinatra in the 50's. I suggest listening to Billie's version before Angelina to really appreciate the performance. Love your reactions!!!!!!!!!!
Omer Bhatti is an honorary member of the Jackson family but he was not Michael's son. Michael may have treated him like a son but he was not biologically his or adopted. Omer's parents worked for Michael and he lived with Michael and his children for many years, even after his parents were no longer employed there. He also went on tour with Michael many times and helped take care of the children when he got older.

Angelina is 7 here and she sings in English! That's her third language. You know she's from Norway. There, everyone speaks Norwegian. From the age of 6, Angelina read and sing English texts and understand what everything means! She is amazing in many ways.
I love Angelina and never want to diminish her in any way. But, there is another 2006 baby that has had almost a parallel path and whose voice has had basically the same road to this point. Her name is Daneliya (Dan el yuh) Tuleshova (Too L'esh ovuh) she is 6 months younger than Angelina. I call them "My Twins" because they were born to me three nights apart while running the 'net' looking for exactly what I found in them. Daneliya was 'born' to me first when one of my little suggestion boxes showed a little blond girl and the caption said 10 year old slays Stone Cold. I went and in the beginning there were no subtitles available. But what came out of a tiny little body is the stuff of legends. I am sending you that blind audition for The Voice Kids Ukraine with subtitles. I had none but my heart and mind knew what they meant. I will say watch the whole audition it is 10:30 long. She is asked to sing an encore. Nobody had ever been asked to sing an encore. Then listen to what is said to her. Remember she is 10. Oh the encore is a Ukrainian song and she sings it in Ukrainian. Do not let your mind wander. If you are going to talk stop the video because it is all telling. Daneliya says something so precious just as the lights draw down. then through the dark you hear a barely whispered supplication. Here is the link th-cam.com/video/jGUqIU6u8Ew/w-d-xo.html
@@mrstlu4838 Gloomy Sunday audition Jan 25 2014. I'm a fool ... Judges' cut Feb 7 2014. The audition in November was held in Trondheim. Angelina performed in Oslo.
You don’t know who Billie Holliday is?😳 well fella..go check her out too. No Billie Holliday no Angelina Jordan. Her words not mine. The judge Omer Bhatti became a a family friend to AJ and was considered Micheal Jackson’s “son” having spent much time at Neverland. He used to drive her around Norway and said he had to pull over when she sang because her voice brought him to tears. I know that feeling well! The second judge to speak summed Angelina up better than anyone with the words “you are music”.
Omer Bhati is a singer and Rapper, AND he was protege of Michael Jackson. To this day he is fast friends with AJ and her family. He introduced her to the Jacksons. German greetings
No, though that is a persistent rumor. His mother is Norwegian, I think, and his father is Pakistani. They worked at Neverland for several years during Omer's childhood, and Omer became like a member of the family, almost like a brother to Michael's children.
The girl who hugged first coming offstage was the hostess of the show. Her mother was the one crying.
In an interview, Angelina said her mom tried to get her to sing normal children's songs, but she preferred jazz!
@@keithserafy Hah...so glad she is not a "normal" child... 🤣😂
Great, thanks! Clearly you overthink it... do relax and enjoy! Don't worry about anyone except Angelina, LOL! pineapple

AJ as always on every rendition , is so mesmerizing, fantastic ,majestic, impeccable ,with a unique voice and over all, uncommparable,God bless her.
Thank you for your reaction!
Waiting for more Angelina!!
More to come!
Excellent! Angelina is amazing!Wonderful and bright voice!Super! Thank you, my friend!Great reaction.👏😲🇷🇺
Glad you enjoyed it
Hehe great reaction buddy, the judges are Mia = actress ,Omar dance / chorograp , ties with MJ ...Lisa ..is comedian an actress , Bjarte is also an actor multi artist must give a big credit to these judges that saw this back then ..what we all are discover now ; ))
Around this time Angelina had a couple tutors to help her keep pace with her studies.
Angelina revealed Billie's influence in another interview saying, "without Billie Holiday there is no Angelina Jordan."
Thanks for your great reactions.
If you listen to Billie Holiday's version at 29, you will be blown away by the fact that
both songs sound like they were made by the same person which is startling. It's
as if Billie was reincarnated into Angelina, that's how much they sound alike. It is
the first hint that this girl is human vocal chameleon, able to mimic anyone's sound
whenever she wants to.
Robert, Do you have a link for Sara's quote? There is a documentarian that has been looking for it to make sure it is an accurate quote.
@@SeanBressie No, I don't. But I'll try to find it and get back to you. I may have taken some liberties with exactly what she said but the conversation did make Sara's feeling very obvious.
@@RobertDeMartin thanks.. he wants to make sure he has it right.
Here's a link to the Billie Holiday original so you can hear how well Angelina nailed it.
th-cam.com/video/XQ2AuLaClmk/w-d-xo.html
I've heard Angelina said something along the line of, "If there were no Billie, there would be no Angelina."
The woman crying was her mother. The woman at the end was the presenter. Pineapple 🍍
Omer Bhatti commented:
“We were in shock when she started to sing…it was a discussion whether it was an impression of that kind of music (ref to Gloomy Sunday performance) or the real deal…and the next time we saw her, she owned the stage, when she rehearsed, she told the bassist what she wanted and had full control.
If you want to realize just how amazing her performance is, here is a mashup of Gloomy Sunday here with Billie Holiday.
th-cam.com/video/H_5_AT_N-pg/w-d-xo.html
The last judge asked her if she knew what the song was about, why? This song was known as the “Hungarian Suicide” song and was banned in many countries. He knows this. Angelina in her glorious, pure, innocence says, Yes it’s about a sad Sunday.
Thanks for suggesting that "blended vocals" video. I hadn't seen it.
The fact so many people are telling me who her mother is is so funny some have even stated they watched till the end! 🤣
Pineapple
the Simon Cowel in Norway is Actually the blond lady with the glasses "Mia Gundersen" she is kinda known for being strict, if you want you can sheck out some of "Mia Gundersen" who is one of the judges and a singer. Omer Bhatti is a rapper, he is also a judge btw, you can sheck out some of him if you want to
You need to listen to the Billie holiday version and see how similar the two are
Thanks to Angelina, you heard of the name Billie Holiday. The legendary blues/jazz singer/songwriter that died 60 years ago. They have made many movies about her life and her music.
Omarion you better see I'm a fool to want you wt his grandma on the studio rehearsal love your reaction thanks
“When the heart speaks, the soul listens.”
I suggest to google and find out about the history of this song, and why it was prohibited to play in UK’s media during the war.
_p.s._ 🍍
Watch Billie Holiday - Strange Fruit th-cam.com/video/-DGY9HvChXk/w-d-xo.html
Her mother was the first lady behind stage when she was beginning to sing. The lady at the end that was talking to her was one of the members of the show staff...the presenter I think.
📌She sang 4 jazz songs for this Norway”s Got Talent show inwhich she won the show. Billie Holiday was a jazz singer from the 40ʻs🌀🌀🌀

Yes it was her mother. I read where she said she was crying because she knew she had just given Angelina to the world.
One last tidbit: Her last name is Astar. Only fitting!
Pineapples!💞
And Omee, the judge WHO was so nice WITH her, happens to be Michael Jackson's son and he is a verte good friend of AJ family until now!!

What a brave choice, a very difficult song to cover for any singer.
The other women you saw crying was her mum.

You forgot to mention her uncle, Michael, seen briefly popping in from the left to give Angelina a kiss on the cheek.
Her mother is the tall blonde woman in tears during the performance. The other blonde is the presenter. 😎
@@erik-nm5cf Thanks Erik. I remember now that you told me that earlier. I fixed the error. Best wishes, Erik.
She was the last act of the day and was as calm and serene as if she had just walked out of her room.
To my Angelina fans: I hope someday when she is old enough, that Angelina might perform a tribute to the difficult life of Billie Holiday by performing this song. I totally understand why, if she would choose not to.
Again, do not watch this video if horrific images disturb you.
As an American (US Citizen😬) I am posting this link because I believe this sad era in our nation’s history should never be forgotten. 😢🙏

@ORPG: I love that you caught the, "Yeah...?" from Angelina. And you realize she's not singing in her native language.
Yes that was her mom. She was wiping the tears from her eyes because she realized she lost her daughter to the world.
Don't forget English is her 3rd language mother is Norweign, father Sweedish, grandmother from Iran and grandfather Japanese. She went to Japan and sung in Japanese. She gave her winnings £50000 pounds to children's charity. Also now has given millions to climate change and charities. Amazing! 💕💞
Billie Holiday also known as Lady Day. Very big in the late 40's thru early 60's.
I have read that the mother of Omer Bhatti was MJ's children's nurse and that so he lived at MJ's residence when he was younger
@@5siggi Thank you for the clarification.

first appearance, her first audition was acapella
That is her mother and I saw an interview where she said she was crying because she knew that she had lost her daughter to the world.
Pineapples for you!
Greetings from Finland 🇫🇮
Pineapple! But you were right- that was her mother in the beginning! And the producer at the end...
Here is the link

She sang Im A Fool To Want You in accepella to audition....first
Gloomy Sunday audition Nov 2013
I’m A Fool was the judges’s cut in the New Year 2014 🍍
@@mrstlu4838 Gloomy Sunday audition Jan 25 2014. I'm a fool ... Judges' cut Feb 7 2014. The audition in November was held in Trondheim. Angelina performed in Oslo.
@@erik-nm5cf Earlier consensus was/is that Angelina auditioned in Trondheim. Doubt she would lie about her age 🙃
The other guy is Omario and he has something to do with Michael Jackson. I can't remember what though. She is spectacular.
Omar is a rapper and he work with Michael Jackson as a dancer
Do the bang bang cover Angelina sings on NGT
Two different blonde women .. one the mother .. one the hostess
Look pineapple
The first woman you ask who was crying on front to the tv was the mother
The receiver was the presenter
There was crying backstage, and ask her why she’s crying and she said I think I lost my daughter to the world
Omer Bhatti, the youngest judge is a rapper/dancer. He is said to be relatated to Michael Jackson. Son maybe ????
No, though that is a persistent rumor. His mother is Norwegian, I think, and his father is Pakistani. They worked at Neverland for several years during Omer's childhood, and Omer became like a member of the family, almost like a brother to Michael's children.
Yessir, thats her mom crying on backstage
The one who was crying in front of the monitor is her mother
