It's lovely. When people try to describe what Aurora is about, everyone turns to the poetic language. Journalists, fans and music reactors like you. But, then again, how would you else be able to describe an artist like this 🥰. More Aurora, please. Anything is beautiful. Go for a title that speaks to you...

Enjoy your journey down Aurora's rabbit hole, I have found the journey beautifully fulfilling. Must be something in the water from the melting glaciers in Norway to produce such musical talents. One of my favorites is Through the Eyes of a Child.

Aurora is not a band, it's the real name of this one of kind young woman. An unbelievably talented singer, song writer, producer, dancer and what not.
A beautiful soul. Is she popular? I would dare to say yes. Just look at her yt channel, of course she has one, 3.6 million subscribers, 800 million views. You referred to London Grammer (Hannah Reid is btw the name of their singer) and they are super popular and I love them. Aurora has five times more subs and three times more views on yt. Not as a competition, but to put into perspective your question whether Aurora is popular. Enjoy your Aurora journey. She has so much to give, be it her own songs or her spectacular covers. It's all easy to find on yt.

Can't wait for more Aurora to come. I recommend "Through the eyes of a child", Runaway, Murder song(1,2,3,4,5), running with the wolves, All soft inside, infections of a different kind, it happened quite, Lucky, queendom, apple tree, conquer, Churchyard at KEXP, Exist for love, cure for me etc. and her covers are amazing like Life on mars, walking in the air and teardrop etc. !!

I would say a great place to explore AURORA is her performances at the Nobel Peace price concert in 2015 - she does 3 songs, all are lovely. (Runaway, Murder Song 5-4-3-2-1 and Half a world away (a cover of the Oasis song) - very different songs and setting than this one.
For something totally different, try her performance of Churchyard at KEXP (its wild and shows her passion)
Or for my toss-up favorite concert of hers, try 'The Seed' from the 'Heik' concert.
Or if you just want her voice and nothing else, the Vevo stripped version of 'Through the eyes of a child' is quite possibly the most haunting, unique vocal performance I have ever heard.

Yes this is a great list! I prefer the seed music video but of course that doesn't matter. Also little boy in the grass mahogany session is spine chilling with feeling and vocals.

@@tinntinnamp That Mahogany performance of Little Boy In The Grass is especially moving. And literally moving as well; it gives you that drifting feeling if you know what I mean.
All of these songs are great choices to react to and among some of my favs.

Welcome to the wonderful world of "Warriors and Weirdos" (AURORA's fans, that is). AURORA is great, isn't she. Believe it or not: she indeed wrote this song "Lucky" when she was 9. She is not only a great singer and talented artist. She has a unique personality as well, with a vivid imagination and clear views on the world around her and on the world as a whole.
This time line shows how talented she is:
Age 6: Started to follow dance lessons
Age 6: Started to compose melodies
Age 9: Started writing lyrics in her second language English
Age 14: Her family discovered that she wrote her own songs
Age 16: Recorded one song ("Puppet") as a gift to her parents
Age 16: Performed a self written song ("I Had A Dream") at a school assembly
Age 16: Gave up dancing (and her dream of becoming a professional dancer) to focus on singing
Age 17: Released her first song "Awakening"
Age 18: Released her first EP "Running With The Wolves"
Age 19: Released her first full album "All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend"
Age 19/20/21: Performed hundreds of live shows during her world tour
Age 22: Released her second EP "Infections Of A Different Kind (step 1)"
Age 22 (just before her 23rd birthday): Released her second full album "A Different Kind Of Human (step 2)"
Age 24: Her song "Runaway" (released in 2015) has gone viral on TikTok, hence turning Runaway into a world wide hit with over 1 million streams daily on Spotify and TH-cam
Age 25 (today): Working on her third full album "The Gods We Can Touch", expecting to release it in 2022

Super reaction Omario ! I hope you can take "Through the Eyes of a Child" from the same Nidarosdomen live consert. This is also a masterpiece from Auroras heart after my taste.
As you mentioned Auroras voice is like the northen wind... this Disney agreed on and gave her this spirits voice in the lead song for Frozen 2 :)

This whole consert is epic! Some reactors have taken on the whole consert, but just take it song by song.
Aurora wrote the draft for this 9yo, but it was to bloody.. 😉 She was actually dealing with her sisters bipolare condition. Must have been tough to watch for a little empath. 🤗

Great reaction, and welcome to the Aurora world, where the rabbit hole is very deep, and very worth the journey.
You talk about this song being eerie and creepy, and you are mostly right. It's a song about suicide, and the journey back from the edge of darkness to the light. It begins on a dark note and ends with a message of hope, and that is all that we can hope for when times are tough, which they are for all of us at times in our lives.
    Again, thanks for the reaction.

You've only just begun this Journey. Aurora's Fanbase is, much like herself, complex and diverse. I'm a 51 year old Metal Head, and I've been listening to her for about a year and a half now. I can honestly say that I pretty much listen to her on a daily basis. I've heard 'many' Artists in my years but Aurora is something different.
And, there are SO many more songs to choose from.....I cannot pick just one. But, for the purposes of getting you deeper into the Aurora at this level, this level meaning this mood, I would suggest the same concert "Nidarosdomen" and the song, "Through the Eyes of a Child" Her voice is .........Simply Amazing.

Cool reaction for this great performance - whole concert there was magical. This performance is one of my favorites, but she has many great songs and performances. I would suggest f.e.: All is Soft inside live from KEXP 2018
About Aurora: Aurora Aksnes is from Norway and she is songwriter, singer, producer. In my opinion she is very talented person and true artist. She started to make music from 6 years old and write lyric in English from 9 years old - this song she wrote when she was 9 which is mind-blowing if you see what it is about (but I guess it was probably polished later). She learnt to play piano and sing by herself - in that time she made a music only for herself. Manager proposed her contract when something was posted on internet and she said "no" at first :). She did not want to be a singer or perform only to write music for herself, but she was convinced by mother that she should not keep music only for herself and share it with the world.

Aurora Aksnes is her name. She performs under her real name...Aurora.
She started writing songs from the age of 6 or 9. She was discovered by management at age 16 after someone posted a video of her singing on social media. She has a great repertoire of songs. She has performed with her band at Glastonbury twice 2016, 2019...both concerts are on TH-cam as well as many other live and music videos of her.check out her singing "under the water" live on the Honda Stage.

6:05 She already has gone far in the UK. You might have heard her singing before without knowing it was her, because she was the voice behind the 2015 John Lewis christmas advert, singing a cover of Oasis's "Half The World Away": th-cam.com/video/jGY-T4W-BOc/w-d-xo.html

Really enjoyed your reaction! I just subscribed after hearing AURORA! She’s in a league of her own as both a singer and a songwriter (and she is also a producer, a visual artist and an excellent dancer)! I strongly recommend reactions to other live performances, for instance, her highly energetic KEXP performance in Iceland (with Bjork in the audience), where she sings "Churchyard" and "All is Soft Inside”; as well as other songs from the Nidarosdomen Concert, particularly the songs "Through the Eyes of a Child," "It Happened Quiet," and "Little Boy in the Grass"; or the HAIK 2019 concert she performed in a forest, with great renditions of "Infections of a Different Kind," "The Seed," “Daydreamer” and others; and more recently, the Bergen Philharmonic concert where she sings “Soulless Creatures” live for the first time! I also recommend her live performance during the lockdown (2020) at the Somewhere Else Festival: particularly “Running with the Wolves”! For AURORA music videos, I recommend her iconic environmental anthem "The Seed," or “Queendom,” or “Apple Tree,” or her latest releases, which invoke Greek gods and myths: “Exist for Love,” “Cure for Me” and “Giving in to the Love”! These are just a few suggestions -- at age 25, she already has quite an impressive repertoire.

Hallo and thank you for your reaction. Yes Aurora is special. Her movements with the arm to express her emotions.
    - Very expressive in "Murder song, 5 4 3 2 1" at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert. Yes, Nobel Peace Price - Murder song --> you see?
    - An then her angelic voice in "Through the eyes of a child" live in Nidarosdomen. In the biggest cathedral of Norway (I think) - the acoustics is phenomenal, you have heard in this video.
    - And her very important song for these times "The seed". It's her Earth Song.
    - The song "Why did you have to go?" - she wrote it for the funeral of a good schoolfriend that died on an car accident. And she sang it only on the funeral. So my informations. She wasn't going to release this. The mother of the girl uploaded it to YT to share it. She was 18. It's very very emotional.
    - She wrote also a fantastic love song "Exist for love". It's Hollywood like.
    - "Cure for me" if you want to dance.
You see - there are many sides of Aurora you have to see to hear and to enjoy.
    Greetings from Germany

To be honest, there is not a single bad song she made. Every single one is a masterpiece, so it's hard to find a personal favorite.
But to suggest at least 3 of her best live performances:
    - Murder Song at the Nobel Peace Price Concert
    - Through the Eyes of a Child (Nidorasdomen)
    - All Is Soft Inside (KEXP concert)

Ok like you said " if the wind could sing on a cold icy day".. Aurora played the chilling siren voice in Frozen. I don't like Disney but still, it just suited her so well, haha! Also I understand about the "creepiness". The way she puts her songs together are a bit chilling at times and the atmosphere probably didn't help (well did help but you know what i mean). I love the creepiness/shock value. From such a pure and beautiful voice and a sweet soul.

I love your input, its' nice to hear you think most new music sounds the same, I totally agree. She has an amazing song called LIttle boy in the grass (It's a live version she is on a freaking boat!) Mahogany session- you should check it out even if it's just on your own and not for a video. Also she writes her songs, unless it's a cover, obviously... but still she works hard on those.

    Lovely reaction!
Aurora is the total package - singer, songwriter, musician, dancer, producer/arranger, choreographer, and an absolutely lovely human being (and she’s just 25 years old!). She will often perform her songs quite differently - sometimes with her band, other times stripped down to just her and one instrument, acappella, with full orchestra, etc. - so it is definitely worth listening to different versions of the same song. Also, her videos are mini-masterpieces as well.
A short list of original songs:
Runaway - Nobel Peace Prize concert and her music video
Through the Eyes of a Child - Nidarosdomen concert, my recommendation Live Stripped - VIVO UK Lift: th-cam.com/video/CFzExUN1N8I/w-d-xo.html
It Happened Quiet - Nidarosdomen concert, but I'd recommend the live at The Current version as well: th-cam.com/video/9U-N6LqzdIM/w-d-xo.html
    Churchyard - Live on KEXP
Winter Bird - Nidarosdomen concert and her music video
Murder Song 5,4,3,2,1 - Nobel Peace Prize Concert
    Lucky - Nidarosdomen concert
Little Boy in the Grass - Nidarosdomen concert
The Seed - Music Video, HAIK Concert
The River - Music video, Live in Bergen 2020
Exist For Love - Music video,
    Daydreamer - Music video
She also does some awesome covers:
Life on Mars - David Bowie
    Believer - Imagine Dragons
God is a Woman - Ariana Grande
Across the Universe - John Lennon
    Teardrop - Massive Attack
    Rasputin - Boney M

Try Through the Eyes of a Child and Murder Song, from the same concert. Or, do the stripped version of Through the Eyes of a Child, to hear her a cappella, which is the best a cappella thing I've ever heard anywhere. This lady is MUCH BETTER live than anything otherwise recorded. The only exception is The Seed, Vivo version, the only thing not live that is better for her. Billie Eilish says this is the person who inspired her to start a professional career.

Brilliant reaction, damn, you are really good. Aurora Aksnes, 25, singer, songwriter, producer, dancer, plays the piano, wonderful human being, known for her deep and meaningful, very often poetic lyrics, utterly amazing live performances, very artistic MVs and also very unique covers. Her catalog of self written songs is huge, so if you're looking for uniqueness - Aurora is here for you. Real early in her career she had this epic appearance at the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert with her song "Murder Song." That's my request, think you will love it.

Great reaction! I'm happy you experienced AURORA for the first time..! A lot of people mentioned it, but definitely try watching her nobel peace prize performance of "Murder Song 54321": th-cam.com/video/vh0SWTVwXxw/w-d-xo.html

Ah my friend, were that I was in your place at the beginning of the journey. Aurora is a self taught musician who doesn't read music, but does play multiple instruments. Her MVs are wonderful, but as many point out, her live performances are where she shines. She's childlike and ancient. Fragile as the finest porcelain, fierce as a lioness protecting her cubs.
Expect plenty of poor grammar as she has a worldwide following in the millions.
My guess, God once thought to herself, "Let's do something different", and so created Aurora.

Great reaction my friend! Aurora is special indeed. There is no one like her in the music industry. Her body language is a one off. So is her writing. It's getting late and I'm a bit tired, at least too tired to read all the comments here. But when I mentioned her writing I thought I should tell you that she wrote this song at 9 years old. Can you imagine that ?
And - If you give this performance a 9 out of 10, let me present to you a definite 10 out of 10. It's from the same concert and is my favourite by her. it's called "Through The Eyes Of A Child" and is hauntingly beautiful. Here is the link : th-cam.com/video/ncG9zTzsisE/w-d-xo.html
And laZzzzztly some background on Nidarosdomen. Nidarosdomen is our oldest and most beautiful cathedral here in Norway and dates back to the 11th century, just after the viking era. Coronations and royal marriages (and other very prominent people) have taken place here through the ages. At least 13 kings and members of the royal family are burried underneath this cathedral, so it makes for a really nice backdrop for a concert like this, etheral in its nature.
In my opinion you are so right when you say all music today sounds the same (thought there ARE a few excepions to be fair.) I hope that artists like Angelina (my favourite female vocalist) and Aurora (2nd place on said list) can help turn the music industry somewhat. They both have the talent and charisma to do so. And I'm very hopeful that the average listener is hungry for something with more substance and quality to it. Call it integrity and depth.
All this writing in a foreign language has made me wide awake🤣 so I might just as well watch a few more of your reactions to other artists.
    Greetings from Norway 😉

This is a little late, but I think you are thinking of the term haunting.

Now that you are in the Scandinavian countries - why don't give the greatest band and singer in our time a shot?
This music DOES NOT sound the same!! It's completely unique!!
Nightwish, a band based in Finland, spiced up with an English multi musician and from the Netherlands, the most versatile, skilled, talented and powerful singer in this century.
"Ghost love Score" from Wacken 2013 is the song to start with, because it shows both compositions skills, the musicians skills - and gives a little taste of their lead singers capabilities

Ok, nobody is going to talk about what is plopped right in front of or faces? Instead we want to focus all our attention on this pretty little girl whose beauty is pure, pristine and unadorned, without any makeup whatsoever, just like her voice, a beauty displayed without a sense of seething sexuality like all the other cliché female performers. She presents herself like no other in the worldly world; she is sincere, forthright and guileless. Yet, when I finally heard her message - that it is that same old schlock all the others put forth, you know, the "Do what thou wilt" doctrine, the same old woke nonsense that is so pervasive - I began to scrub her from my feed. I realized I was taken in by her "angel of light" presentation. Nothing new here... But now! Lookie here!! She stands before the crucifixion of my Lord and sings her testimony, her offering! Is it mockery or real? She is on stage with God dying on the cross singing how lucky SHE is to be alive. Does no one want to talk about this?
