It was pretty bad that they stole half of Nebraska's national title that year. Nebraska was truly the best team of the 1990's. And overall, the best team of the last half of the 20th century. Much better than Alabama has ever been.

Florida St. & Nebraska played some of the best games of that decade. They have bounced back this year a bit. I had so much respect for Bobby Bowden & the way they treated him at the end made me less of a fan. You're right though, some of the great programs need to get on track. Nebraska has been down way to long New Coach so we'll see. Frost sure wasn't what we had hoped. Our interim Mickey Joeseph got arrested for domestic abuse so he's gone too. The Conference championships showed the system is still flawed . They need to hurry up & get an elimination bracket in place like every other sport in the world. Not sure who Florida St. has in bowl game but good luck.

An unliked opinion by me: Eric Crouch was the best QB to ever play for Nebraska, on a team that had next to no talent compared to Frazier's teams. Nebraska 1996 reloaded, won the title in 1997. Crouch played for a title in 2001, what happened to Nebraska after that? Crouch is not given the respect he deserves. It is possible that Frazier ran the triple option better, but was he better than Crouch, or did Frazier simply benefit from having a MUCH better coach who didn't turn his QB into the one man workhorse that Solich did to Crouch? Think I'm crazy? What if Crouch was on 1994/5 Nebraska, and Frazier were on 2001 Nebraska? We will never know... but I stand by my opinion.

John Manning you aint kidding! I had only been watching fsu a few years and years at this point. This was our 4th bowl vs Nebraska in 6 years a besides a awesome game in 87-88 fiesta bowl we embarrassed them because the triple options kryptonite is speed on defense and noles were kings of speed. And basically only Miami had beaten us in that 6 years, minus a Clemson, in 89, S. Miss in 90 , and gator in 91 , and Notre dame in 93. Anyhow if it wasn't the canes I was supremely confident and even vs Miami and all the others I mentioned we could move the ball and played good just losing close. I was dumbfounded the first half, and really the entire game minus the final drive! I was to young to see then that the game being in Florida and in the stadium that'd been a house of horrors to us and all of college football, And so many near misses for bowden. That the game wasn't 100% on the level! Everyone not from Nebraska had fsu going away and I think once everyone including the refs saw that Nebraska was more than capable of beating and was in fact on their way to winning. FSU gotta lot of assistance manly the phantom clipping flag on the punt return that 25 years later I still can't find, to the clock operator trying to run the final 1 plus seconds off and cheat Nebraska outta a long FG, THE 2ND to last play . And flu never really did figure out Nebraska blitzes Charlie was sacked 5 times after only being sacked like 6 all season and hard counts drawing our defense off sides half dozenntimes. Anyhow that's the worse I've ever seen fsu get outplayed and not lose! Bobby Bowden was going home with a ring that night regardless what Tom foolery eeded to take place, and even though im FSU all the way, it still feels a little tanted to this day, and Nebraska started a 26 game win streak after this and had a 11 game streak going in! All other games were in the series were close and competitive. They didn't play each other at all in the 1990s. There are no blowouts by Miami in the series, period. However OU blew them out in 2007, 51-13 in Norman. The games that made Miami infamous for having no class were:
      - 1985 vs Notre Dame in Gerry Faust last game when accused of running up the score (58-7)
      - 1990 vs Cal in a 52-24 blowout when they were dancing over tackled players in peace, love and happy Berkeley
      - 1991 Cotton Bowl vs Texas in Dallas when they had over 200 yards in penalties and still won 46-3
You have the right school (Miami) but they never blew out Oklahoma.

The Huskers were deprived the championship by one of the referees when he dropped his shit by saying there was pushing in the back. It was the best punt return to go for a TD. The Analysit who was a TE of the Cincy Bengals replayed the punt return slowly and there was no pushing in the back or any other error. We lost when our kicker missed the field goal.
In fact, the Huskers were supposed to play the unbeaten PSU but the lying bastard brought FSU with one big loss. FSU got this championship freely.

Terrible plays calls when Nebraska had it at the 5 at the end of the game. Florida State was All In on run for all 3 plays. Nebraska should have tried a couple play action passes.
Also where was Philips in the first half.
But a heck of a game & a lot of NFL players on both sides. As a Nebraska fan this hurt just as bad to rewatch it.

Nebraska was the best team in college football this season and they were from 93 through 97 they should have won five national championships in a row we're literally talking a bounce of the ball here and there and they go 63 and 0 and win five titles in a row the most dominant run in the history of sports maybe not just college football that's how great these Nebraska teams were they were clearly the superior team on the field this day and they showed that what they did the next two years with the same players when they rolled off two of the most dominating seasons ever this was one of the most rip-off national title games ever without those penalties calling back a kickoff return for a touchdown call him back that 4th and one William Floyd did not score this was a scam game Nebraska was Head and shoulders a better team
