Nice race, I did a race with the LMP2's at Portimao, was pretty fun and the experience was good. The reason why everyone was probably quicker than you was probably because you had a full tank of fuel, which you can change in the setup even for fixed races.
you also have the "race lean" engine map by default wich you can change
And be sure u don’t have any help enabled (f1,f2,...) it’s allowed in rookie but add weight penalty

Can confirm 😂 Good racing tho until the fez went 90degrees into my side. Definitely appreciate we can do some door banging in LMU without it being race ending.

Yeah, definitely check out the fuel options! Seems like that could have been a good reason that you were that much slower. Good racing Dave!
I have watched other videos and I thought: Is this game a drift challenge or what? No.. Dave proofed otherwise. In this video I saw things I haven´t seen in other videos so far. Information when the race starts etc. Also a relative screen. Dave did not drift around corners. In fact he drove the car smoothly while other content creators constantly overdrove the cars giving a wrong sight for the audience of the of physics but praising them. Nicely done and I like Dave his face palms when reacting to situations. LOVE IT! Haven´t bought the sim myself yet. Still waiting to get a few more bugs squashed out. But what I really liked is the post race explanation as to why you have lost SR and DR here and there. That´s cool!
His car is also sliding everywhere, the low FOV is not allowing you to see it. There's something wrong with the overall grip in this game mainly in rear end of all cars.
I love the GTE handling it is a very fun drive fair comments Dave well done.
I think the reason you're slower in a straight line is you have a full tank of fuel. Just an FYI, you change fuel load even with a fixed setup.
The gte's have also 3 different fuel maps. I dont know the impact, but could help.

I tried two online races. One the game crashed 2/3 the way into the race. The 2nd crashed while in practice mode. However I like the game so far and love the fact online seems to have a lot of users. I understand that it's an early release so expect some issues. I just hope they fix online crashing issues so that people don't give up on it. The race I was in had great racing up to the point it crashed. The potential is definitely there, RF2 base and great online participation, it could give iRacing a run.
I look forward to the online! I am still working out some of the bugs I had setting it up and was finally able to get true triples set up, and SIMHUB going. Just waiting for Crewchief to work and for MOZA to get the FSR dash working. One step at a time… but thus far I am impressed with it and can’t wait to start going online with it. Tonight hoping to record a POV of some sessions…
Im glad this has GTE. Im sad its switching to gt3. GTE is more fun in every way IMO. Ill probably put it down when they abandon the GTEs. Unless I magically improve my prototype driving, which seems unlikely for me.
It has enormous potential. If they manage to make the 2024 season of the wec it will be a great game
This honestly looks very fun and sounds great. I specially like how the dirty windshield looks as the race goes on.
Unfortunately no VR means I won't get it yet. I have no monitor on my cockpit, VR only. Looking forward to trying it once that's added.

I've had a few races in my headset in Steam Theatre, using a virtual ultrawide screen. It isn't VR but it isn't half bad, actually. I was pleasantly surprised.
you are not missing out, it is buggy at the moment so by the time VR comes around you will be joining the game in a good state

Dave if you want to have virtual mirror instead, press the number 3 key on your keyboard. This goes for everyone who don't like using the mirrors in the cars.

I like Fuji. It can bring out over aggressive drivers though which makes it aggravating
Lmu run fine for me and my 1080 in medium, i’ve make 3 online race, most of them very clean and respect, i realy enjoy it
I'm not a massive fan of Fuji Dave, especially those last couple of corners.

Dave, I saw on another video that you can use your rf2 config files to properly align your triples and get the camera postioned right even though you cant change them ingame

I usually don't have much time for practice. I'd maybe put a decent time in but I wouldn't have the consistency without a lot of practice so I'd probably be a hindrance to those up front. And, starting from the back is fun with all the carnage 😁

Nice. Introduction of this new sim, find it hard to focus in ACC and not improving, I've visited all the breaches and walls to often. What does this sim compare close too. I have AMS2 also..
It is a lot like rf2, but improved. Which means to me good Feedback and a very good tyre modell.
I was reading through open issues and saw traction control can impact tip speed... maybe that was your issue.
lack of proper spotter and radar not helping in the current build with close racing I've found, good start though

After Max Verstappen said he’s uninstalling rFactor 2, it makes sense that the studio rebranded the portion of rF2 that affects the virtual Le Mans 24. It looks really good on your PC. I’m not sure I like an online experience where players can’t talk (for better or worse). I think I’ll just keep investing in iRacing.
I'm sure in game voip will come. I play escape from tarkov as well and it took them 5 years to add voip 😂

Ctrl + seat or fov and u can change the pitch

Yes just edited the config file but it's been fixed in today's patch so we are able to make adjustments in the sim just like rf2 👍
A pity that you had no spotter (and no CrewChief). You see all 3 monitors but we saw only the center and had no idea whether there is a car beside you. Two times it came a little bit as a surprise that you've been overtaken. I was missing this "still there" more than I would have expected it.
The sound - I don't know. Does the Aston really sound so bad?
And apparently, it's quite hard to drive. Your performance seems to be a lot better on iRacing. Is it more forgiving? I have neither of those titles and struggle a lot in all games I have (AC, ACC and AMS2), so no complaint - just an observation! :D
Having driven both, I think this is more forgiving in terms of collisions and over driving the car. iRacing is a great simulator but those two things make it viciously hard ( at least for me ). I've driven probably 4-5 hours in LMU and have had more saves than I've had in 4 years of iRacing, once the car goes beyond the grip limit in iRacing ..... You are dead.
I have been hesitant to grab LMU. How do the GTE cars feel compared to the GT3 and GTE cars in RFactor 2? Are they improved, or roughly the same?
Braking too hard and/or wrong tire pressure as you got way over heated tires at mid corner and some times even just under braking. Nice and honest clip again from you Dave, keep up the good work.
I had a great race in the LMP2's at portimao last night. Pretty surprised with how clean my first race went. Also, how did you turn off the track map? I can't figure that out.
I wonder how this handles in comparison to ACC? Is crew chief working for it?
It's very early days but besides the bugs theres huge potential. Would be great to have a new, decent sim to play. The make or break is how special events are handled and whether LFM get involved.

you had to much fuel, you can adjust the fuel even in fixed setup

Stuttering is the main issue currently in my opinion as we can see often in this video.
Do you feel like you have to under drive the car to stay on track? The sim feels super slippery to me.
Not like you to make the same mistake 3 times in one race. The ol' switcheroo. Maybe yellow Corvettes are your kryptonite. Had to feel like déjà vu.
The game looks great! Unfortunately I had to request a refund from steam. My game wouldn’t load any race sessions, both online and offline were completely broken.
Just curious, did you had it installed in an HDD or SSD?
I have it on SSD and the load times are quite big.
Even for early access, I can't believe there's nothing for a spotter. Especially with online racing

Take about 60 litres of fuel out of your tank next time and you will be a truck ton faster buddy!
How’d you get the triples going ? Did you basically just use rf2 settings?
Yes pretty much but it's been fixed in today's patch so you can now set it up in the sim 👍

Tbh I think that's an obs recording thing which I don't normally use to record the gameplay.
Can you please tell me how to set steering mine wouldn’t set wheel up, I had to damn near turn wheel four times to turn wheel a quarter in game I have a dd2 wheel base
Did you calibrate the wheel in game ?
Yes, in setting in main menu and then in car but wasn’t able to get wheel to match screen, my dd2 is set to auto as well

Was wondering why I was being murdered and realised it puts me auto race lean and I have to change map to race.

I picked this up yesterday but I'm struggling to understand the grip in the tire. It's like there's no FFB when you get oversteer so I have to really under drive the car. It's an issue I've never had in other sims. I'm not sure if it's a weird quirk in the tire model or if the FFB settings need some work.

Menus were so laggy that I couldn’t even set up the game. Then it crashed after loading Fuji for 10+ minutes. Refunded until they get their shit together.
The physics look weird from me watching you. Not a fan of this game yet. You kick ass in iracing...
the aston is very off pace the corvette and the ferrari are much faster
I played it for an hour and refunded it. I run it on 100+ fps and the UI is outstandingly laggy. Also there are some annoying assists on controller that cannot be turned off.
It's early access and less broken than forza motorsport. Patience is the mother of science

FFB for fanatec is terrible. Un- drivable.
