Japan is one of the cleanest and non-polluted countries in the world and the reason behind it is they want their country to be clean not only the government, but even the people from japan also want their country to be clean every morning you’ll find various people in Japan sweeping up around their house or place of employment. These are not building maintenance workers, but shop keepers, office men, nurses, etc.
People in Japan have their own freshwater spring and they rinse their vegetables in the same water. They use eco-friendly soaps that wouldn’t contaminate their water and they use the water in different ways in different applications and not a single drop is wasted. From each house, water flows in the canals and watercourses which carry it down to the lake which is the habitat of 1 thousand animal and plant species which keeps everything balanced.
India is just the opposite of japan here the people want their clothes, vehicles, house to be clean but not the environment. let’s get together and make India better and Clean.

well, I'm Japanese and believe it or not, many rivers in Japan were badly polluted before, mostly in 1950s ~ 1980s. My parents often talk of how impressed they are at the cleanliness of rivers in Tokyo now a days. That and the Japanese rivers shown in this video is one of our cleanest.
If we Japanese could cleaned up our rivers, Indians should be able to do it too.
p.s. not meant to offend anyone. Just wanted to say, there's nothing inherent in Japan or India that makes rivers as shown in this video. And you don't have to give up on India (or Philippine) for a clean river.

Is there really something to do about it? People's solution to unhygienic and filthy environments is to do cleanliness drives and programs, which to me are completely pointless. The psychology here is when you pick someone else's trash, the person knows you are there to pick his trash. So he will do more trash. Why should someone spend his own life picking garbage done by someone else. The most effective and practical solution is for every citizen to realize his responsibility and throw litter in dustbin. It is that easy to do. And it is the most important step. Doing that would do miracles to a place. Though people in India are too lazy and narrow-minded to do that.

I've lived in Japan for 4 years now and it's so peaceful, pollution haven't seen a single bit. I can literally put my bike out without locking it and by the time I'm back it'd still be there.

Seeing my country Japan , and seeing india is like comparing Diamond and Dirt.
I think people are taking it in a wrong way, but here in India we usually see Japan a nation which really progressed forward, despite it being war struck and destroyed economically and people put into poverty because of it. Yet with the help of collective will of people Japan progressed forward.

40 years ago many rivers in Japan were smelly and dirty. From there, the government and citizens cooperated to improve little by little. Now we can fish and eat
