The Clan's may have lost, but the repercussions of ComStars 'win' would have devastating results on the Inner Sphere, not seen since the First Succession War (cough, cough, Word of Blake). Might have just been better off if the Clan's had won.
Greg Domenico I don’t disagree but I’m not super up to speed post civil war. But something had too stop the downward spiral. The helm memory core didn’t have the effect it could have. Until the clans there was no reason to develop new tech. Like I said it wasn’t an intended change. And it cut both ways. But it was still change

The whole culture, rituals ,ideals and tech obviously always interested me the most, now don't get me wrong the political infighting of the inner sphere is nice and all but the honorable and direct approach ( most of the time anyway ) of the clans always will keep an edge over it imo. Walking the Honor road as described in the jade falcon trilogy has inspired me much and has some irl applications as well which just proves how good of a sci fi universe Battletech actually is.
The smoke Jaguars were wild animals that didn't have the desire nor the capability to control themselves. When the powers of the Inner Sphere came to put them down, no Clan could be bothered to assist them.
im not per se a fan of clan culture in BT, but as a tool of storytelling, they have done a great job imo ^^ and it "keeps" things interresting (or even kept for those that play/read in the time after hihi) same as ComStar hehe
The Clans have far more interesting mech designs compared to the Inner Sphere, largely due to their completely different battle doctrines. While the Spheroids have scouts, urban, line and fire support mechs, the Clan mechs are akin to predators, pouncing on isolated and vulnerable prey.
