Steve thats some serious completing distances your hitting at, I think your do well in any competition. Appreciate the tips and guidance. Id be chuffed to hit 230 yards consistently let alone edging towards what your getting close to, the 300 mark just insane distance.

My thinking is the slow in fast out was with older styles with older softer rods and to give the lead time to go outside tip but with the more common flatter swings now once the lead is in the right position just go for it, at least this is what I myself see when I watch the worlds best casters. This doesnt mean slow in fast out is wrong either, everyone just has to decide what works for them.

@@djrmonix yeah ive studied a load of his videos after cesar ali pointed out the reasoning behind the fast in faster out tecniques i was seeing on South America tournament videos previously to that I didn't realize that they waited till the lead was in a straight line with the rod previously i had been beginning very flat casts with the lead at 90%and nearly snapping my self in half trying fast in faster out.

Its easy to cast having 200m
Line on that type of reel but spool the reel with 600m and up length of line its then a different story

Do not attempt to do these types of casts with a spinning reel unless you use a casting trigger! I learned that the hard way when I get a serious finger cut 😂. Go on ebay and search "casting trigger". Invest in a high quality one, it's only $11 and then you can do this type of cast with a spinning reel.
