I guess hes using the "neon jump" trick on that rider armor. You'll notice the ride armor use the drill and glide at the same time. Same on doing the neon jumping. Shooting a charged shot and jumping to gain an extra or the 3rd jump.
It's dope the Switch now has ALL the MegaMans'. 1-9 then x-x9 then in a month X11 comes out. The controls are slightly wonky but I've been putting in work on that switch.

This is any%, because 100% including beating the X Hunters and getting the pieces to save Zero and skip the fight against him. Even though this is any%, he still gets the Shoryuken (which includes getting all heart tanks, subtanks, and armours) because it's much faster when doing the refights
Is it faster to dash wall jump upwards or regular wall jump. I'm going to attempt to speedrun this on my Wii. But I was way better at this game when i was 9

Caleb Hart, I assume you are running an emulator, only based on how smooth the gameplay is (60fps or more) how are you doing that? trying desperately to figure it out, having lots of trouble.
I believe the multiple functions of an emulator, like the ability to literally speed-up the game and the faster than intended load times would make it cheating. Watch his "octofecta" video, you'll see there's card swaps between his games. This is because he plays on familicom and superfamilicom, japanese predecessors to the NES and SNES. And switching to the Playstation.
pretty impressive good job i like mega man x2 but i stick to the orginial mega man x ive played them all i prefer the rom hack of mega man x hard type bc the game is simply to easy but i also do modify the orginial to give some challenge
Gattu x4 is definitely where I lost interest. The amount of the map that was on the screen at any one time was so narrow, it felt so awkward to play. X1-3 has a much better balance of character to map, and the style wasn’t as “childish” as x4 and up.

When you're fighting Serges you can use the G crush and take out all four of those cannon things at once and then hit him with fire as well.

Megaman X2 is probably the easiest out of all of them, still, I couldn't ever imagine beating this game this quick
