I love your reasonings for implementing these activities. Building community is soooo important I love to see that!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the idea of the Biggest Fan game. I can only imagine how hyped the class gets when you are down to the final two competitors. So excited to try!!
Oh my gosh! I have never heard of the game “Pancake or Waffle”, but now that I have I am totally going to be using it in my classroom! 😃Thanks Kyle! 😄
pancake or waffle is always a hoot! you're kids will love it
I love these!! I’m going to try your scavenger hunt and the Google slide activity for each of the students. I do a lot of picture books and that deal with SEL in the first week, as well as this or that, would you rather, etc.
Now you’ve got me thinking 💭 Great ideas for a great start! Thanks for sharing.
I love the idea of writing a letter to the students and for them to write one back!
I hadn’t ever heard of some of these and I LOVE them! Thank you!
Such great ideas thank you!! I feel like I forgot all in class activities because of last year and this really helped. I think “my biggest fan” is going to build such a sense of community!
For This or That:
I have my students come up and answer by putting a block on their answer. We are creating a bar graph which leads to questions like how many more/less and supports data and measurement standards.
We just played biggest fan with our staff a couple of days ago! Cool!
These are all great ideas! I love the toothpaste words activity.

Loving the hair Kyle !
Would you be willing to share a sample of your scavenger hunt and what it looks like? While it makes sense, I'm a visual learner. TY.
Could you do a video on procedures like your pencil sharpener rule? It would be helpful for first time teachers. Thank you, From CT.
Agreed, I could always use a refresher on classroom rules!
At my previous schools my class did head up 7up and silent ball game
I love that Google Slides activity!!
