      Nope, they finished updates on next year´s car which is based in this years...and are fully into the 2022 car. That´s two years...

      when he was at "lotus", kimi was on the podium pretty much every race. then he went to ferrari & they thought they had it made... toto saw an opening & hired James on the spot!

      @@f1master973 Unlikely. They're not allowed to develop the 2022 car until 2021, but if they perfect the 2021 car by the start of the season, they can immediately go full power on 2022's car.

      @@avada0 That´s false, many teams have started dev on 2022 car on 2019, and Renault is one of them. They can´t work on 2022 aero, not thew rest of the car´s conceptual work and mechanical parts...

    Guess what, they’re doing it again. Merc has already stopped working on the 2020 W11 and has been developing the 2021 car for a month already.

Mainstream sports and TV outlets can choose their ads on their content, yet creators solely based on the platform are second fiddle.. Ad block isn’t as unfair as it used to be, especially when most of the content we’re receiving is rehashed from a paywall, especially with Sky Sports etc

      Will Buxton is one of the few decent F1 pundits. He stays away from the petty Hamilton sniping politics the rest of the pundits indulge in and he seems to be a really nice genuine bloke.
      He doesn't get the recognition he deserves.

    James is one of the best engineers in F1. He worked at Ferrari from 2000 to 2004 with Michael Schumacher and then at Renault from 2005 with Fernando Alonso.

      You know the run of poles by Ferrari after mid season break. And spa where even with drs merc Hamilton couldn’t catch Ferrari Leclerc. That would have annoyed toto. Which would have led to Andy cowell being annoyed. And here we are.

    What’s so annoying is that whenever there is something new and innovative developed in F1 like the blown diffuser, das, the f duct it always gets banned in the next season it’s so frustrating seeing these designs and innovations just scrapped the next season.

      @@desting45 I agree with you, like they could even incentive it. If say 3 teams don't invent their own in 2 seasons it gets banned.
      So teams can either work on it to catch up, or work on something else. If 10 manufactures put out 10 different innovations one season, the balance of what to adopt, adjust, or scrap would be amazing and make each fortnight gap between races actually matter.

      I sometimes wish manufacturers use the FloViz dye to help them with their designs; the areas where the aerodynamic capabilities show can help manufacturers know where to put paint to make the car look fast

    Although many are tired of the Mercedes dominance, you have to admire Mercedes' incredebly efficient way of working and groundbreaking inovations they have brought to them. Hats of to them and nothing more than massive respect. Hopefully 2022 will bring the field closer to.each other than they are know, but don't get your wishes up that Mercedes won't be a domminant force in the new era

    James saying it was painful for their engine guys to watch the races and being told that they are not the best engine anymore. 😂
    And then saying the gains HPP made were ‘DECENT’.
    That Ferrari cheating engine is the culprit. 😅 it made Mercedes push to compete with it. And now Ferrari don’t have that engine. The poetic irony.

      Only starting? It became quite obvious that 2021 was fixed for Mercedes as soon as they announced the development freeze and the new reg delay.

    So on the book shelves we have: A Ferrari book right be James head and a book on Sir Stirling Moss. By Lewis lid there's Adrian Neweys book plus Moto GP 2019 highlights book. And we also have books on Jackie Stewart, Fangio, Andretti and another just behind James head which is called DAS OFFIZIELLE. Fascinating!

    Wen you look at the seasons from the start of these PU's the FIA started with the high rear wing and skinny car, they then changes to slightly wider and lower rear wing, followed by the low slung wide beast of today with more power. Then they said a complete new front wing with all the barge boards, Then they banned Qualifying modes.. Oh and the halo was added at one point yet each time who came out fighting.

    I think James Allison is a really likeable guy. A true racing fan. He even said in a Q&A on the Mercedes channel that he would love to see the blue flag gone in F1, which just shows you that he cares more about exciting racing than he does about winning.

      Oh, I'm sure that at least 80% of the Mercedes engineers are actually true racing fans, which include Toto Wolff. (In fact, Toto Wolff was a racing driver) From what I've seen at Mercedes is that the employees, mechanics and engineers are pretty passionate about their job.

    Read some comments,.. its basically fundamentally not formula one "1" anymore is it, a pinnacle sport that gets penalised for development, innovation,design, read somewhere that the engineering side is so much held back because of rules regulations?? Then yes it's not a pinnacle sport because it seems to be held back by rules....?

    These are THE best cars I’ve ever seen in F1(performance wise and nature of dominance). I know it makes for extremely boring racing but we are witnessing history in front of our eyes. We could tell our children we watched this happen from day 1.
