Definitely. And this is my favorite of this series so far. I like that he could mix and pay respect to icons while picking up pieces that are off the beaten road
This is filling the gap that Hodinkee's talking watches left behind. Im so tired of seeing the same Daytonas and Pateks of rich actors, musicians, etc. So much more relatable to hear these stories and watches.
Really? Besides that Aquastar and blue Tudor nothing special. Others are million times seen watches everywhere else. And I say that as a lover of Junghans and Doxa.
"The right kind of ugly..." That is the perfect summation of the Doxa Sub 300 Professional, my first dive watch back in 1969. Definitely an enjoyable and informative interview. Thanks.
My favourite series of this channel. Absolutely refreshing to listen to the regular, hardworking, successful "man next door" talk about his watches and what they mean to him. Also they usually talk about items which I can actually afford! Rather than "ok here's my diamond studded platinum Daytona blessed by John Mayor". I mean really, this man has a Stowa. Nobody on TH-cam has ever talked about a Stowa!
I love this segment. Love seeing the collections of the "normal" people, not just the rich celebrities with their rainbow daytonas, platinum nautilus or 5M RMs that are just unobtainable to us mere mortals (nothing wrong with those watches though, love them all). And seeing the people that actually love watches talking about them and not just showing off expensive pieces. Keep it up :)
If it wasn’t already a foregone conclusion, with this series Teddy is on the top of the watch content mountain. No pretense whatsoever, genuine watch love going on in these.
A wonderfully personal exploration of a designer's take on watch design. I enjoyed seeing his choices. I happen to have the same appreciation for well-crafted design and for his draw towards minimalism. A terrific addition to the Real Collectors series.
This is the best collection video yet, thank you Teddy and of course Matt. Every piece stunning, especially the fuggly ones! Must be the designer in me clicking with Matt and his watches. Watches really are one of the purist statements of every element of design rolled into one - so many designer are obsessed with them and I am sure I'm not the only one who "plays" drawing watches on 3d modelling programmes instead of video games! 🫣
Such a beautiful collection with an excellent taste. Congratulations I own 3 of them as well: - Junghans Max Bill (manual version 34mm) - the khaki Field - CWC (Hamilton version) And I have to say that they sre my favourite among my little collection. What is missing here according to me is the extraordinary SINN U50. Just for the unforgettable design
It's refreshing and interesting to see collections of watches from "ordinary" people, as opposed to fabulously wealthy celebrities with their six-figure timepieces, and to listen to them talk with pride and appreciation about watches that many more people can afford and most likely think about in terms of acquiring for themselves. Adam Levine on Hodinkee with his jewel-encrusted Daytona was quite the spectacle, but this is more satisfying to hear a "regular dude" graphics designer explain what he likes about his more down to earth watch selections.
I am a profesional graphic designer and Hamilton is also the brand that got me into watches and down into this rabbit hole hahaha.! Its all about the aesthetics and the dials but also color combinations!
Teddy, this series is really hitting the sweet spot that Hodinkee’s Talking Watches has left behind. Except you’re doing it a hell of a lot better than Hodinkee ever did. There’s no pretentiousness, no air of arrogance, and no watch snobbery from any of your guests. Well done.
Great episode, my favorite so far. This is the first time I felt a little attracted to a Rolex or a Tudor, but that's because these guys are so persuasive and passionate. I still think the best in the collection are the most humble: the Junghans and the Stowa. ❤
Great video. I knew the guy would have a Junghans in his collections but I’m surprised he has so many tool watches. As a brand expert, I thought he would have the Cartier Tank and Tag Heuer Monaco too.
What a nice epiisode, I really don't hear talking about watch design as often as i should, it's always heritage this, heritage that, but the eye wants its part too!
Wonderful series Teddy and team! Purchased my fourteenth watch from your team and they make superb gifts. Would you consider doing a series for Writers, Journalists, Editors? Thanks.
I'm also enjoying the real-life guest videos; thanks for doing that. I would love to know more about the designer and his work. I can't get his last name. Do you have a portfolio link?
This series from Teddy ‘the watches of a …’ and the watchbox studios collector conversation are what i look forward to every month. I just wish Teddy would be able to find more time out of his busy schedule to do this series more often.
Love the Doxa, I have a black dial but also looking for the orange. I'm old enough to remember Jacques Cousteau on TV when I was very young and his classic orange dial Doxa. The orange actually serves an important purpose, it is the last spectrum of colour you can see before pitch black. Perfect fora dive watch.
I like this guy, I’d like to be his friend, I think we’d get on! His take on the Doxa is absolutely, 100% spot on! I HATED it when I first saw it, but it is cool.
These come across as very authentic and real. As opposed to Hodinkee's offerings, which quite often are more performative and hypey. Great job at staying grounded Teddy!
Great watches and such a cool collector. I love how these watches are unique and different from the mainstream. Interesting how there is a Sub in the collection then the Aquastar completely different targets.
@teddy please keep coming videos from common guys because watching these type of videos from common man gives us motivation that one day i could have my watch collection 😊…
Hamilton khaki field watch was the first watch I purchased. Tudor BB58 next. Doxa 300T Professional is also in my collection. The explorer 2 is the only Rolex watch that suits my wrist. However, still too expensive for me. Great collection. Resonates with my watch collecting journey.
Really enjoying these. While it's fun to see collections of celebrities or super wealthy, I think there's something more impactful (dare I say heartfelt) about hearing the collecting journeys of "the rest of us" and how their worlds/professions/backgrounds intersect with what they have in their watch box.
I loved this particular episode so much. Like your guest, I am drawn more to the dial than tech specs. Fortunately, for other viewers he knows and appreciates the watch’s functions. Due to wrist size I wear men’s watches. But don’t be afraid to interview a woman designer close to holiday times. See if there’s a difference.
This is my favorite series of the channel right now. So cool to watch people show and tell their stories of their watches.
I am glad you are enjoying it! Thanks for watching.
I hope tou do more of these @@TeddyBaldassarre
Definitely. And this is my favorite of this series so far. I like that he could mix and pay respect to icons while picking up pieces that are off the beaten road
Couldn't agree more, it's amazing to hear the stories behind the watches and their passion.
Agreed. It helps to see more than the watch
This is filling the gap that Hodinkee's talking watches left behind. Im so tired of seeing the same Daytonas and Pateks of rich actors, musicians, etc. So much more relatable to hear these stories and watches.
I disagree. I find the hodinkee talking watches to be inspiring and aspirational.
I agree with you, also their episodes are short ones ...
Couldnt agree more! I just read your comment after posting mine ahah More of these please, Teddy!
You are absolutely right. What a grounded and informative segment. This one of the reasons why Teddy is closing in fast on one million subscribers.
This guy has by far the best taste ever in watches on this channel.
Really? Besides that Aquastar and blue Tudor nothing special. Others are million times seen watches everywhere else. And I say that as a lover of Junghans and Doxa.
Lol stop projecting
Great video. I love his collection. Just a true watch enthusiast, no snobbery.
"The right kind of ugly..." That is the perfect summation of the Doxa Sub 300 Professional, my first dive watch back in 1969.
Definitely an enjoyable and informative interview. Thanks.

I love the diversity of this guy's watch collection. It's clearly from a place of love.
This is your best interview to date! Natural, good pacing and obviously fun.
I love this segment. Love seeing the collections of the "normal" people, not just the rich celebrities with their rainbow daytonas, platinum nautilus or 5M RMs that are just unobtainable to us mere mortals (nothing wrong with those watches though, love them all). Perfect collection explained perfectly. Deep knowledge of why each piece was selected.
Just when I think I've had enough of watching watch videos Teddy makes a video like this.
I love it.
If it wasn’t already a foregone conclusion, with this series Teddy is on the top of the watch content mountain. No pretense whatsoever, genuine watch love going on in these.
this dude is spot on regarding the Hamilton. It has been so right for so long.
Teddy has a gift, that many interviewers lack, of knowing when to shut up and let the guest speak.
Wow that Stowa was stunning 👌🏽awesome series, great vid!
A wonderfully personal exploration of a designer's take on watch design. I enjoyed seeing his choices. I happen to have the same appreciation for well-crafted design and for his draw towards minimalism. A terrific addition to the Real Collectors series.
Nailed it with this one Teddy, Matt’s collection and storytelling is spectacular
Great video. Good to see a burly hunk of a lad and his tool watches!
These interviews Teddy does highlighting collections are my favorite! Great job Teddy! 😎🙌🏻
One of the best "talking watches" episodes ever. Great job and phenomenal taste.
This was an absolutely fantastic episode, couldn’t agree more with the points made and the perspectives shared.
Such a cool diverse collection
Love the stories and reasoning behind all the pieces
This series is fantastic, more of this please Teddy
This is the best collection video yet, thank you Teddy and of course Matt. Every piece stunning, especially the fuggly ones! Must be the designer in me clicking with Matt and his watches. Great video Teddy, and thank you for letting Matt talk uninterrupted!
This is a great interview. Please keep these type of videos coming.
This is so much more enjoyable than the usual „ this is a 39mm with a XYZ movement Blabla“ TH-cam watch content! Phantastic!
A wonderful collection. The blue BB58 has to be on everyone’s list. It is certainly on mine. Possibly the most significant watch of the last decade.
Absolutely LOVE that Omega on that nice “piece of leather”. Great collection, but that Omega … 😍
Thanks for sharing the passion.
Such a beautiful collection with an excellent taste. Congratulations
I own 3 of them as well:
- Junghans Max Bill (manual version 34mm)
- the khaki Field
- CWC (Hamilton version)

Thanks Teddy! I really enjoyed the perspective and insights of this graphic designer. More of this please!
More of these please Teddy! I love collection discussions more than any other watch content out there.
What a beautiful collection. Exactly matches my taste. Love the watches and the stories behind them!
Great video! Great collector! True passion! More please!
Fascinating, thanks Teddy. I'm also really enjoying this quite unique series.
I really respect him highlghting humility in watches. He comes across as a really humble man himself too. Great interview.
I absolutely love this interview and his amazing collection.
Teddy with the "ineffable," whoa! Great conversation and a beautiful collection...
Love this collector conversation series. Great selection of watches and not the usual suspects.
Love these collector interviews teddy, you need to do more of them 😊
Awesome collection! Matt has a great taste 😎
Wonderful collection and conversation. Thank you!
This series is fantastic….keep them coming👍🏻👍🏻
Love these kind of video with a guest!
"The right kind of ugly". Love the collection. So much versatility.
What a great solid collection, love the retro style theme
Teddy, this series is really hitting the sweet spot that Hodinkee’s Talking Watches has left behind. Except you’re doing it a hell of a lot better than Hodinkee ever did. There’s no pretentiousness, no air of arrogance, and no watch snobbery from any of your guests.
Well done.
Great interview, thank you! It’s nice to hear the view from a designer’s perspective. Helps to broaden my perspective!
That was a very cool episode, it's always fun to see those type of collections and collectors why they like a certain piece.
very elegant and diverse collection... Thanks Teddy
Love these collector deep dives, and you let them do most of the talking too. Nice work. 😁
The Aquastar is phenomenal.
Matt has the best watch instagram, probably of all time. Smooth getting him in for a video Teddy!!
What a nice epiisode, I really don't hear talking about watch design as often as i should, it's always heritage this, heritage that, but the eye wants its part too!
Great job Teddy! Looking forward to more of these interviews!

Another great video
Teddy and the team really are doing it best these days
Best TB video yet.
Very cool to see Tomar's watches, this is a crossover I never would have expected
What a killer collection. True watch enthusiast right there
Best series yet
loved hearig Matt. and great series Teddy, And I like how this series probably feels more relatable with not just unattainable watches
Great job! I shared this with my brother-in-law who is a graphic designer. Design x science = watch enthusiast 😊.
This series from Teddy ‘the watches of a …’ and the watchbox studios collector conversation are what i look forward to every month. I just wish Teddy would be able to find more time out of his busy schedule to do this series more often.
CWC Gang!!! It’s awesome getting a designers perspective on watches.
This was a great installment. Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Great series..reminds us that it’s more than just the watch per se but the story behind its conception and the people who wear them.
Great video, Teddy! Very well done 👏
Wouldn't call this 'an original series' but the content is spot on. At least something different and unique.
That Stowa is an amazing one, extremely well design, the black dial one will be equally good
Love the Omega browdarrow too.....
I’m a big Aquastar fan. First time I’ve actually seen one on a series like this. Very nice collection.
Love the Junghans!
Wow. That Tudor does scream road America! Awesome collection.
Nice, didn‘t know he was the man behind the „The Grey Nato“ logo! Thanks for this video Teddy.
I was missing this kind of content, thank you !
Love the Hamilton on a bracelet and the retro Monte CARLO very cool.
Love the Real Collectors series!
the junghans looks so good
This is so much better, and so much less pretentious than "Talking Watches"
Love this type of video. More of these.
The movement on the CWC is unreal.
Please more videos like this teddy!
Really enjoying these. While it's fun to see collections of celebrities or super wealthy, I think there's something more impactful (dare I say heartfelt) about hearing the collecting journeys of "the rest of us" and how their worlds/professions/backgrounds intersect with what they have in their watch box.
Great show. One of your best. More like it.
Junghans is just classy right out the box
THIS is a great episode
I’m a designer too and have 99% the same taste lol. He’s missing IWC! The mark series is a stunning piece of graphic design. Cheers!
I love this series Teddy. Keep doing these.
Do more of these series!
