Thank you for continuing your Star Wars journey Tara. BoBF gets a bad rap, and yes, it does have some… questionable, artistic decisions, but there is stuff to enjoy. Just keep going, because like the MCU, it directly feeds into the next thing: Mando season 3.
Tara, I really enjoyed this show and I've caught a lot of flack for that. So, ignore any haters you see coming at you if you enjoy the show (as with anything Star Wars related). Always give something a watch and make up your own mind if you like it or not. I can't say that enough. As always, I'll point out things as we go along, so long as they don't spoil anything. But before we even get started, I will say that George Lucas, back in 1982 (during the production of Return of the Jedi) was clueless how the fans reacted to Boba Fett's first appearance in Empire Strikes Back. TECHNICALLY, the character's first appearance in public was at a parade that included Star Wars characters, and everyone thought "I don't know who that is, but he looks bad-ass!" Boba's first "on screen" appearance wasn't in Empire Strikes Back, but in the Star Wars Holiday Special during one of the animated portions of the show. The less said about THAT show, the better. But.... as many Star Wars fans do... I'm sure that you will check it out at some point, and to offer some advice, "alter" your brain chemistry a bit before watching it. I can't lie about it, when I was 11 years old and that aired on TV.... I loved it. BUT, I was also quite used to the format (that of a variety show, which were very common at that time) AND it was the only Star Wars media we had aside from the original movie, a couple of books (the novelization of the movie, and "Splinter of the Mind's Eye" (IIRC, that had been published by then), and the Marvel comic books. Empire Strikes Back was still in pre-production when that aired in 1978. Also, after realizing the fan's love of Boba Fett, Lucas said, "Had I known at the time how much fans loved that character, I would have given him a better death scene." Well, I guess it's better that he didn't, because then we would be missing a character from The Mandalorian and this show wouldn't be possible. So....... "All is as The Force wills it." =D Okay, on with the video. 0:50 - Yes, Boba is healing in a Bacta tank. Well spotted! 1:35 - The only detail we aren't given, is how long he was inside the Sarlaac creature. But the wreckage of Jabba's sail barge can tell us it was at least a few days, possibly weeks. Also, the Stormtrooper inside tells us that the Empire likely investigated Jabba's disappearance. 2:05 - Like I've said before: Jawa's will take anything not nailed down or well guarded. 3:40 - There's always a chance, so long as he's still alive. 7:05 - THAT, my dear, is a massive tribute to the "Master of stop-motion animation; Ray Harryhausen". The man who pioneered the process of using miniatures, photographed one frame at a time, with only the slightest of movements in between frames. The beast itself highly resembles "The Kraken" from the original "Clash of the Titans" (1981), Harryhausen's final movie. Without that technique, the AT-AT walkers in Empire Strikes Back would have looked very, very different. The movie "Jason and the Argonauts" utilized the technique to wonderful effect back in the 1960s. An old movie that's worth a watch for his work, alone. There's your "film history lesson" for the day. =D 8:50 - Yeah, this "flashback / current time" mixed format is what most people complained about when the show dropped. I guess they would have been happier with "first half of the series being flashbacks, then moving to current time".... but you'll see what the show runners were aiming at by doing it this way. I didn't mind it at all, because I noticed that the flashbacks were relevant to that episode's "current time" portion. But you'll see what all of this is building to, in time.
RobbyRod took the tone of his episodes in this series in a bit of an odd direction, imo. Trips me up since his Mandalorian Boba episode is one of my favorites. I enjoyed this show otherwise. The second episode is my fave. I love the Tusken warrior that fights Boba in this episode. SHE is awesome 💖
I think there was a bit too much filler. Mando season 3 had the same problem. If both shows had been 2 episodes shorter, they would have been better received.
SW gets flak because Russia deploys trolls to reviewbomb it. *This isn't my opinion, this was reported by the FBI.* SW is not only _antifascist_ it also unites America and Russia spends money to prevent that.
I liked BoBF, but of course I would say a few of the next action/chase sequences are not good. The show has flaws, but many up sides too. Also, whats kind of funny is way back over ten years ago, Patton Oswalt did a filibuster in Parks and Rec tv show where he rambled about Star Wars, and he had a similar idea of how to revive the character of Boba Fett that is pretty similar lol. The whole thing is hilarious, you should watch it.
There are things that I love about BoBF and things I strongly dislike. The good things Book Of Boba does are VERY GOOD, don’t get me wrong. But the bad things they do, are veryyy bad. I’m a huge Boba Fett fan, and was obviously disappointed that the Mandalorian was going to focus on a new Mandalorian character (that show turned out to be great, at least the first 2 seasons) but I’m hoping if they make a second season of BoBF it redeems the show. For example. I think the tusken arc was very well done and great. We need more of that type of stuff, good story telling.
I gained a better respect for this show's story after doing the same marathon you're doing. And as much as we've seen of Tatooine we know next to nothing about it
tara, in the 1980s there was a rumor that Boba Fett was a woman, if you watched the movie, Solo a Star Wars story, i think that would lend itself to the rumor, but george added some voiceover work in 1997 to diminish that rumor and in 2002 also
lol at "terrible". Imagine going to an art show and saying that about a piece in front of the painter. The exaggerated words we use when there are no consequences to critique things which do us no harm. 😂
It’s a show about a drug empire that doesn’t sell drugs. What kinda crime is Boba supposed to be a daimyo of? But more than that we are talking about one of the most violent characters in all of fiction that kisses ass kicked constantly. This is a big departure from his appearances in that other show. Hence terrible misstep. And don’t get me started on his portrayal in the novel set after return of the Jedi. While this version of Boba can’t even run a criminal empire, another version of him is the king of Mandalore. Trains a new Jedi, how to kill a Sith Lord.
I really like the Boba/Tuskens storyline. And I'll always say yes to more Ming-Na Wen.

It's okay to criticise a show ya know? No need to cover it up by calling bad move "artistic decisions".
Yeah, this series has some of the best episodes ever.. .
It gets very good after episode 3 or 4, especially if you already seen clone wars and rebels.
You are absolutely going to love how this season ends up. ✌️

To be fair, Ray Harryhausen learned his techniques from Willis O'Brien, and stop motion techniques in some form started in the mid 1800's.

Thanks for uploading. It's like seeing this again for the first time! I loved this series!
tara, i guess you never watched the movie Clash of the Titans (1981) you would have recognized that creature from it
6:36 same sound effects as that shorter creature in the arena battle in AotC.
I really liked this, still don't understand why it got so much flak❤

Boba Fett is basically Mando 2.5. So if you had gone straight into Mando season 3 you would be confused.
It takes a long time to post new reactions, I'm a fan of your reactions, so please don't take so long, thank you!!!!
You’re in luck - 817282 attempts later it finally allowed my latest upload! It should be up soon!!!

I liked this show and I think you will too
The sand monster you refer to is called The Sarlac Pit
No that's what its _pit_ is called
@@SwiftJustice Ohhh. Ok. Is the creature a Sarlac?
I want to ask Tara a question, should they have kept Bobba's helmet on through out the episode?
Wait until Chapter SIX! 🤯🤪
Shhh... 😋

Question. Can you enable monetization for these kinda reaction videos and actually make money from it?
The show has some flaws, but I do love the first two episodes (and... later ^^)-
You really watched this smartly. Skipping all the prequel crap and starting with Rebels is genius. Do yourself a favor and stop at Ahsoka.
She started at TPM

Never heard that rumour. Boba was clearly a man.
First! Can’t wait!
OMG!!!!! You just totally won the entire internet!!!!!
"Will he play Rex? In live action"
...
*cough*
This is a hard one except for maybe 3 episodes. But you have to get thru it before Mando season 3. Which is another hard one.
Just admit you hate SW
@@SwiftJustice I don't. But I also think some of it is crap.
a 9 min reaction, why should I bother watching.
I always tell people to skip to episodes 5-7. The rest of this series is just awful in my opinion. I can’t rewatch at all!!
Get good
This show made some terrible missteps. For me the first few episode did not make a good impression.
