I seldom see a department work so well together and do so in such an organized and calm way. Especially on a fire as tough as this one. Kudos to everyone for doing such a good job.
Listened to most of this and live just over the bridge from it. It was crazy seeing this and listening to it. Those men did a wonderful job, and your command is amazing at what they do! Great communications and jobs!
So much focus on the building loss but from this video you can really see the insanity of what these fire fighters were facing. They are the true story here. Jacksonville is blessed to have each of them. Outstanding job!
That RED DEVIL was made , it ran up over down across and came back time after time . Every time they got a corner out , it lit back up. Great communication on scene . This must have been a tiring fight for the Captains and ladder , pump personnel . great video of area
Once it breached the roof, stopping it was very difficult as the fire moved where it wanted...luckily, it didn't go downward floor by floor to the ground... It was tiring for every man and woman on scene, from firefighters to chiefs. Long long night

I wouldn't be surprised if there was faulty electrical in that construction. I guess we'll never know. Nice-looking building from the outside so damn shame.
I feel like this would be arson with the previous apartment building (also new construction) in the last couple months. We’ve had an uptick in arson in my district lately too, not necessarily fully involved, but still sketchy and in abandoned or new structures not occupied.
I’m betting Aaron as well. Gen contractor was probably over time and over budget and had no $$ left. So just my .02 they decided to let insurance handle this.
I was wondering what the FD though about the criticism that the city tore the building down too quickly so no investigation could be done. Without knowing the cause, we don’t know if there is a flaw in the building design or something else.
Who said they weren't still investigating? The building was deemed unsafe for entry, even for investigators...no one was entering the inside. They are investigating all the same.
I did some low voltage work in a few bldgs under construction. I had no idea how far they go to create so called fire barriers using sealant and stuff. They even pour a thin layer of concrete like material on the wood subfloor. They keep lowering the quality of the materials, while jacking up the prices, and somehow getting approval to have more floors...sooner or later there will be mass casualties 🙄 Edit: forgot to mention how I wasn't too keen on working in a building with no working sprinklers yet.
Putting water on the seat of this fire may have made a difference…obviously the ladders were ineffective. But at least the aerials look cool with all the blue lighting
Anyone who knows fire behavior knows that the fire will take the path of least resistance...therefore, once the fire breached the roof, it was free to do what it wanted...you attempt to hit it with the ladder, but it moves itself to an area where it can continue to burn...once the ladder moves the stream, the fire goes right back to where it wants...so please tell me how you would do this differently to get water on the seat of the fire??? You can see times where we were (heavy steam) but to no avail Glad you like our lights on the ladders...but someone wasn't paying full attention, they aren't all blue!!! Thanks for watching!
@@thejfrd2490would have been more economical and better for the environment. Did y’all contain the millions of gallons of water running off ? It’s not like yall saved anything at all . Was a great effort at the beginning.
@@JS-zb1vv we do not go into these situations thinking like that...plus what you are suggesting is not realistic...you want us to bring in heavy equipment to knock the building down as it is burning?? That certainly isn't safe, so you're endangering even more lives...furthermore, as you knock the building apart, more flammables are exposed and the fire just gets bigger...so now you have a bigger, more dangerous fire that you need to put out and use even more water to extinguish Does this really seem like a good idea to. you?
Should have called in C-130 FORESTRY DROP TANKERS, told forestry that they have a concrete forest fire.... and you could have all gone home and called it a night.......LOL. P.S. GOOD JOB CHIEF AND ALL CHEWS ON SCENE.

It was a tough task for sure…great command presence sure helps!
one day they will learn to put cncrete roofs on and interior wallls with brick and foors with pre stessed beams concrete doesnt burn
Amazing team approach and coordination. Well done JFRD
Appreciate that!

Command was phenomenal...and so were all the crews he was working with.
Great communication on the fire ground and commands
Agreed! Very well run fire
Excellent coverage & excellent work by JFRD getting the fire out --- Debbie
Appreciate that.
great job JFRD! I'm happy to read there weren't any injures!
Thanks!
Drone views are insane
sure are .
Awesome teamwork, leadership and communication! Glad no one was injured, this was a stubborn one!
Thank you...glad as well.
Awesome job JFRD. Crazy fire. God Bless You All.

Fantastic footage. Everyone did an outstanding job fighting the fire 🔥. Have a great day my friend ❤️🙂⚘️🚒.

Thanks very much
Awesome coverage. All responders did a fabulous job. Awesome command...🤗🤗
Thanks
Good firefighting, and great coverage of the job.
Thanks for watching...
That was a pretty brutal fire to battle....hats off to all involved!
Lot of things to worry about...thanks
Excellent video work.
Thank you.
the crews did an amazing job. that was a real nightmare for sure. pity that the fire suppression had not been installed as yet.
The building was under construction, we handled what we needed to handle.
Love your videos !
Thanks! Keep watching!
Been waiting for this one!
It is here
can we get an update on the structure status when possible.
They began demolition on this building because of safety to the area within a week...that is still on going.
That went from 1 to 1000 quick. I hate under construction fires. Shit is too dangerous
We are blessed that no one was injured.
Hoe many floors can Americann fire trucks go i seen one uk video they trucks can go 20 floors
Depends on their length...110 feet cover roughly 8 stories.
HEY JJ WERES THE RAC AT.

it will be rebuilt
@thejfrd2490 I would assume the construction company has insurance. Not having it puts companies out of business.
Question is this the apartment building that caught fire 🔥 in downtown Jacksonville last month, And now has been demolished..🤔🤔🤔
Yes, it is in the process of being demolished.

Feelings don't solve arson cases...science does...we will let the investigators do their thing.
Tower Ladders (Buckets) would have been a plus for this fire.
We had one there...our second one was out of service for repairs....but thanks

Those towers were just tall enough!! Should have stopped spraying water and called for heavy equipment to knock it down!!!
Or maybe a military air strike!!
That is not how we operate.
