Kind of. I'd say that final one was her picking herself back up and choosing to toughen up. So it has absolutely crushed thay naivity and completely black and white morality out of her, but she's hardening into something else rather than left completely broken
You can tell that I really REALLY liked this discussion hahaha. Would love to see a group of the crew sit down and play Fallout 1 & 2 together, making choices and stuff. They’re much slower games so it works for that kinda format.
Was at the pawn shop with my parents back in 2013 for something and I saw fallout 3 there and didn’t know what it was but it was $6 so I asked my mom for it and got it. Didn’t know what to expect but oh man that game knocked my socks off instantly and I became a die hard fallout fan for life
Listening to this, if you pause on the screen of those in the cryo pods, Barbara's name is NOT on vault 31 list, so she's probably in a different vault, but that's an IF as she IS working closely with Bud as we see near the end so who knows but rewatching a second time, I have MORE questions now then when I initially ended. What Betty said to Norm, after knowing what happened to his mom is even MORE CHILLING the second time around!! She helped bury her, ooooh chills. Me in real like I DO/have acted like Lucy. The way she acts is very possible lol.
Crazy how Mike's Fallout experience is very similar to mine but with Fallout 4 instead of 3. Fallout 4 came out my Freshman year of college. and I still remember walking over to my buddy's dorm to hang out, and watching him play Fallout 4 and talking about cool moments we saw or things like "go over that way theres something really dope."
Loved the show. It’s up there with the Last of Us and Arcane. Such a great original story based on the game. I only wish it was a weekly show so we could be all in the same place every week speculating on what happens in next weeks episode.
I think it's funny to hear Greg talk about the nanny mission and how great it is, considering that was a side quest from day one. I get why people were apprehensive on the " no NPC " thing, but I think a lot of people just straight up didn't really give it a chance. They did some really creative things with the format, that were totally Fallout to the core. The Mistress of mystery quest line is one of the most memorable for me, and that is as a fan of 3, New Vegas, and 4. The original overarching story was solid two. It's nice to see people turn around on 76, but it is a bummer that it didn't get any credit at launch because it was broken and because a lot of people didn't give it an honest shot. It absolutely deserved the criticism it got for the state at launched in, but it didn't get any of the recognition that it actually did deserve
Yeah, all 4 people in the Meeting have major rolls in the games. Really curious to see what will come from it. The two people in the meeting room who are definitely dead are Frederick Sinclair (Big MT) and Leon Von Felden (West-Tek). You can find Sinclair's body at the end of Fallout New Vegas's Dead Money DLC. von Felden is part of the FEV Research, and is killed shortly after the Great War by the National Guard that were initially protecting the research. That same national guard squadron would eventually go on to form the founding chapter of the Brotherhood of Steel.
Fallout is hands down my favorite video game adaptation, I wasn't expecting much going into it, but it blew all of my expectations out of the water! And I've only played Fallout 3 a long time ago : 3
I like how they change brotherhood and made it corrupt bc eventually happened in irl and to introduce conflict and how the idea everyone wants to save people but the wrong ways
I think a lot of people misunderstand maximum in the beginning you need to keep in mind that he hasn’t been outside since he was a kid and not a coward just had trauma that he eventually overcame
for my money, as much as i love *TLOU & Twisted Metal,* *Fallout* is *the* best game-to-television adaptation i've experieneced. it's like stepping inside the game & following 4 different players on their intersecting quests across the wasteland. the storytelling, character-building, attention to detail with the visual language, music & audio design is impeccable, and it does a great job of not over-explaining anything, simply trusting newcomers to enjoy the ride, and by the end of season 1, we're all on the same page. i love it. when it comes to people upset about the alleged lore changes in regard to *Shady Sands & New Vegas,* Todd has clarified that "the fall of Shady Sands" refers to *another* event that occured well *before* the bomb was dropped, and that the bomb drops *after* the events of *New Vegas* in the game. we'll definitely find out more in season 2. can't wait.
Really weird to see people say they are “old” and that they’ve been playing fallout “forever” only for their introduction to be Fallout 3. Do the originals even enter into the equation for people? They should, because their stories are the best in the series.
Awesome spoilercast! One comparison that I haven't heard anyone talk about but really hit for me is, this is exactly what I wanted the new Star Wars Trilogy to be. The 3 main characters, each hitting in their own way, the lovable female, the good guy who realizes he is working for shitty people and the badass (Obviously the ghoul is much more anti-hero then Oscar Isaac's character) but this is the potential I saw in those Star Wars movies. It's also why I'll die on the hill that the only BAD one of the trilogy is The Rise Of Skywalker because it's all about how it comes together in the end. There's much more coming with the Fallout series but if The Rise Of Skywalker gave Oscar Isaac's character a story arc that led to him helping Rey, take down Kylo Ren with Finn being the hero caught in the crossfire that makes you tear up when Rey and Oscar Isaac's character (Love Oscar Isaac but this is how forgettable his character is can't even remember his name) have to see him die and avenge him and not the whole Palpatine bullshit story. I think people would look back on the first two movies and be like DAMN okay this is a solid trilogy. It's also the difference in TV vs Movies because Maximus didn't need to die and they can continue his story and have Lucy and the Ghoul come together and it make sense.
I totally thought Maximus put the blades into his friends boots so he could be a squire. I believe when we find out he didn’t your attitude about him completely changes.
I personally didn’t think he did it because his character didn’t strike me as being that shitty of a person despite being upset that he wasn’t chosen. I thought he just got blamed because he wasn’t liked and people pointed fingers at the easiest to blame. Also, he was the first to rush over and check on Dane. While he could’ve been doing that to manipulate people into thinking he was innocent he also didn’t come across to me to be intelligent enough to even think of doing some manipulation like that lol
Maldova being friends with Lucy's mom is a really weird bad twist. Like ok friend made plan that will kill daughter 😂 it's a miracle Lucy survived tht raid. Otherwise good show
To be fair, I think she was already done with the Overseer's family. Before she left with the dad, she even offered him the chance to put Lucy's life on-the-line for the group.
I doubt she would have the level of authority to make the call. She even said, she is working hard to get her family in the best vault so she is not calling the shots.

It would be very easy to make a conversation like this flow better and make it easier to enjoy for non-hardcore Kinda Funny fans. Lucy was such a pleasant surprise for this!!! I love all the content she’s on!
You mean goosey?
There’s a video that shows the progression of every one of Lucy’s “okie dokie” and man the wasteland really did crush her spirit
Kind of. I'd say that final one was her picking herself back up and choosing to toughen up.

Yes! The show runner having the patience to hold the line “war never changes” until the end was amazing. I was shouting doing the Leo meme
my favourite little Easter egg was Lucy seeing a vault boy bubblehead when she seemed to “level up”

Got a lot of Johnathan Majors from Max
I thought the same.

Blessing loves the rawness of the ghoul 😂
The only thing that I didn't understand was how hank McLean didn't recognize moldaver at the wedding
I don't think she was a part of vault 31/32/33 , otherwise they would not have needed the mom's pepboy to break into vault 32.

16 years since fallout 3 is forever
The Ghoul bullet time in the Filly battle was more a nod to the game's kill cam than to VATS.

Thank you!
definitely start with Fallout 3. If you're a certified graphics whore, you can try 4. However, IMO FO3 is the best game in the franchise
Thank you! I meant outdated gameplay wise! I could do with older graphics
@migii820 definitely not outdated via gameplay. And it also has more RPG elements than Fallout 4.
