I have no problem with the killzone pricing. I bought the game for 40 bucks. They just added a whole bunch of free content with the illuminate. Dev time had to go into this stuff. They gotta pay people and keep the lights on. They gotta pay all these people working on the game somehow.
CJ Splitzon brought up a good point that I know they mentioned but they didn't dig into enough. Arrowhead has provided so much content for FREE. Mechs, Trucks, New Race, Planets + you can earn Super Credits in game. Would we rather them charge for those things or charge for the occasional crossover even item? I feel like we are holding different devs to different standards - this is not that big of a deal. I understand if you dont want to buy it or don't like the price, but don't act like this is any different from a 30 dollar Snoop Dogg pack in Fortnite
If any player has such bad fomo that they feel obligated to spend £10 on a skin, that's their own problem they need to deal with. As long as actual content is free at point of entry there's no issue. Hasn't Andy spent upwards of $70 on single valorant skins? That's egregious, but still a choice
It’s a live service game. That free content is expected otherwise the game would die. They also lock a lot of that content behind the monthly carbons which rubs me the wrong way
@siddharthshishulkar8992 I dont think anyone is arguing that fortnite shouldn't have mtx. Its the price of those mtx that can take the piss. 10 for a battlepass is cool, and you have all this stuff to earn throughout. But 30 for a small handful of cosmetics? The math is way off, its an egregious amount of money for something like that
Yea, after dozens or hundreds of hours of grinding. The majority of us don’t have time for that so essentially most of the games new content is locked behind a 10 dollar monthly subscription. It sucks

Pertaining to the Helldivers microtransactions costs. I play Destiny 2, a full price game, and they have similar crossover events with overpriced microtransactions for armor, weapon skins, ships...you name it. If you try to equate the value to the cost of a season-pass it never adds up.
I have to be honest, I can’t imagine living a life where I care enough about killzone to spend that much money. If you find yourself caring about killzone that much, just spend the money. It’s not like you’re gonna have a full price killzone game to buy anytime soon
I actually think it is a shame that we aren’t getting a new Killzone. I would rather have one than Horizon 3. Killzone 2 is one of my favourite PS3 games.
Just so Tim understands, there’s been $70 games doing this for years, $60 games before next gen. MK1 is currently very schematic/scummy with this stuff with $10 skins rotating weekly, even Tekken sells $4 skins which is at least more reasonable. MK1 and a lot of these games already had season passes to pay for ongoing development as well, people don’t realize how giving games like Avengers was in comparison. Monetization and engagement schemes in general has been a growing issue and the worst one of this generation, not silly wokeism.
@Alex_Logan22 I dont think tims point was about them existing, obviously he knows that, and has seen plenty in the games he does play. But he didn't know fortnite had £30 skin packs, or valorant sold single gun skins for £70. Those are absolutely insane prices nobody should be ok with. Hd2 cost £40, and this small handful of kill zone cosmetics on offer and coming soon will add up to the same amount of money. The value doesn't make sense

Diablo. Destiny 2. Apex. CoD. Battlefield. Fortnite. And the beloved of greg miller, Assassins creed odyssey and Valhalla ALL, had egregiously priced skins, crossovers, and for the latter, gameplay accelerators, DLC amidst so much more within a single player experience. Greg Miller never once took the time to tweet something out about them. Yet here we are. Feels very disingenuous and inflammatory for the sake of getting on a game that is all to quickly thrown to the fires. They’re a Live service game. You can earn all the MTX currency in game at a relatively reasonable rate. They’re extending the time this skin is in the store given it costs more. Why are we flaming arrowhead for this. They’re more deserved of a couple bucks thrown their way compared to damn near any other game out there right now. Greg honestly deserves to take some flak for this and should come back on it lest his ego real begin to shine through. You can’t critique HD2 while turn a blind eye to all the games he loves that have egregious MTX.
Couldn't agree with you more. Love and respect Greg and the rest, but all of their ratings on DA:V almost cost me $60. Everything Mike said, I also 100% agree with though. I believe he hit the nail on the head here. I've never had to buy a warbond with real money, and have most. This stuff is optional, and honestly none of it is OP like people are saying.
$20 skin is bull shit when you can get 3 skins for $10 in a war bond. At most all of the kill zone stuff should have been a $10 war bond. Kill zone is first party i doubt Sony charged arrow head to use it
It's cosmetics. The gun isn't pay to win. The article literally said it was a weaker gun. Just skip it if you don't want to spend money. Gamers have gotten to the point where they want everything for free and cry when they dont get it. 🤦♂️
My thing with Helldivers is that you can earn supercedits in-game to purchase these things, right? Honestly, I feel like that was a mistake from the devs to do so, and while I don't support egregious monetisation, we gamers have to understand creating post-launch content has to be paid for in some way. I do hope PlayStation and Arrowhead do reduce the prices of these MTX products to a reasonable point, though. It always seems a little weird to me how much shit Arrowhead gets when devs like Rockstar, Acti Blizzard, Epic, Riot, EA, and others are much worse.
I have not seen arrowhead get shot for their mtxs until now. I’m just happy it’s finally happening cause them locking away gameplay elements like OP weapons, OP strategems and armor with OP mods is super scummy. Idc if it’s pve game, people that just want to play the game casually and not spend 10 dollars every single month are going to be playing a gimped experience because of all these locked away elements. Would be nice if they made the mtxs purely cosmetic but since they’re not going to do that, they should at least make the warbonds 5 dollars instead of 10.
Kinda funny are hypocrites on this topic. When they put Ghost busters content into any game. Greg miller runs to that game, (ones he's never played) buys the skins and then never touches the game again. Do they even mention the prices on new collab skins for games like fortnite, Cod or Destiny at any point during the year. NOPE. Tim ran to fortnite and got ninja turtles skins for a game he doesn't play and never will.
None of those other game give you free credits in game. Most players on hell divers have never spent a single $ on warbonds because they get thousands of credits for free so easily. They literally farm 10s of thousands of credits and don't pay a single cent. This is also a collaboration, so they need to pay some of that money to another company. It's not pay to win because it's not a PvP game. And these weapons and skins won't help you win anymore than other weapons or skins. Gamers r just big cry babies and want everything for free.
Still better than Marvel Rivals where along with buying the season pass you have to either become an expert with every single character, play 3 million hours, or pay insane amounts of money if you want even half the costumes.
Hell, diverse two has updated and paid more attention to a game over the last nine months than many developers have during the years of production, I agree with Mike, but with the wallet if this is a problem as a fan of kill zone and more so I want to support the developers I bought this, but I also have been able to collect most of the money in super credits by finding them and playing the game continuously , sounds like people trying to get mad, but I understand this consider a president at the moment I have no for your from arrowhead and would like to support them and have more things to buy with the currency I gain playing
Helldivers 2- I've bought every store item and every warbond simply by playing the game. Yes, I have like 800 hours in the game... But the point is, you can earn plenty of in-game currency by playing
What about casual players? I guess they’re just gonna have a lesser experience because most of the new content is locked behind micro transactions? That’s real lame
Arrowhead can't seem to stop stepping on rakes after doing something really cool. This has been a roller coaster of a live service game to be involved with when it comes to community response too. I think the main issue with the Killzone collab stems from the fact that the content originally leaked as part of a warbond, which is the normal release method of DLC. Parceling out pieces of the warbond for double (or quadruple due to the incoming drop in 5 days) the price is coming off as greedy and egregious. I think we are too far along for Arrowhead to change this, but hopefully the backlash will lead to them either reducing prices on the next collaboration or just releasing it as a warbond (as they should have here). No one would have said anything had they done that here.
It's extremely frustrating they've made an amazing and unique game. Yet they seem to compulsively shoot themselves in the foot. The mistakes they're making are also easily avoidable, by just not doing them. They're gradually losing their player base which they built on good will and fairness, by being better than other live services and they're just throwing dirt in player's faces again and again.
Nah, that cross-over argument is bs. If you have to turn a profit, then dont bother with crossovers. It's not like they're bringing back Killzone, at least not anytime soon. Who cares about Killzone anymore?
Man Greg should stop playing games he's turned into a grumpy old man. But then he'll bore you with starfield talk. Which is the most mid ugly looking game I've seen in a while. We should start going against the grain with Greg Miller love you Greg but you know it's the truth

lol guys i saw you video about game monetization. You were much kinder to much more predatory games, i guess warzone, pokemon pocket, valorant and wwe games just build differently😉🤡
These complaints are clowntown. Especially the idea of not being able to tell super credits from real money. Go back to your remedial math class if you can't crack this code. It's only too much money if you don't like killzone enough and you don't actually play hd2. Edit: it's even crazier to hear them say these prices are unreasonable when they're still shilling for Marvel Snap, a game jam packed with skins/packs costing $20 or more. And considering the type of game, it's much more of a pay to win situation because your deck likely needs certain specific cards to remain competitive.

I don’t think Greg was complaining as much as he was pointing out the strange pivot. With the games you mentioned, they were scummy off the bat.
For NCAA you could undle with Madden for like $100ish
$20 skin is bull shit when you can get 3 skins for $10 in a war bond. At most all of the kill zone stuff should have been a $10 war bond. Kill zone is first party i doubt Sony charged arrow head to use it
skin isnt at 20$
Sony likely mandated it lol
Give me a Bloodborne episode of secret level
You can just not buy the mtx...
Also, banana concept art is the best
LoL put out a $500 skin. For me it's whatever as long as it's cosmetic.
I buy skins for like 4 games are ppl really still complaining for $20 skins ?
Kinda funny are hypocrites on this topic.
When they put Ghost busters content into any game. Greg miller runs to that game, (ones he's never played) buys the skins and then never touches the game again.
Do they even mention the prices on new collab skins for games like fortnite, Cod or Destiny at any point during the year. NOPE.
Tim ran to fortnite and got ninja turtles skins for a game he doesn't play and never will.
It’s moreso the pivot than the practice.
Burnt. Orange.
mike's analysis was v. Poor of the helldivers microtransactions. Of course its a competitive game, in many ways
Sony is pimping this price they want their money ! Arrow head doing what they are told to do
How is it pay to win.. in pve!!!
Still better than Marvel Rivals where along with buying the season pass you have to either become an expert with every single character, play 3 million hours, or pay insane amounts of money if you want even half the costumes.
lol they need tl take a look at 2k
It is not pay to win, when it can be purchased FOR FREE!!! People love to complain
Hell, diverse two has updated and paid more attention to a game over the last nine months than many developers have during the years of production,
I agree with Mike, but with the wallet if this is a problem as a fan of kill zone and more so I want to support the developers I bought this, but I also have been able to collect most of the money in super credits by finding them and playing the game continuously , sounds like people trying to get mad, but I understand this consider a president at the moment I have no for your from arrowhead and would like to support them and have more things to buy with the currency I gain playing
Helldivers 2-
I've bought every store item and every warbond simply by playing the game. Yes, I have like 800 hours in the game... But the point is, you can earn plenty of in-game currency by playing
What about casual players? I guess they’re just gonna have a lesser experience because most of the new content is locked behind micro transactions? That’s real lame
Happy gamers are finally waking up to the levels of greed in helldivers
Mike really shilling for extortion
Tim has wierd vibes. he hates this industry lol
Nah, that cross-over argument is bs. If you have to turn a profit, then dont bother with crossovers. It's not like they're bringing back Killzone, at least not anytime soon. Who cares about Killzone anymore?
tim just gets these weird opinions on things lol like hes so out of touch
Man Greg should stop playing games he's turned into a grumpy old man. But then he'll bore you with starfield talk. Which is the most mid ugly looking game I've seen in a while. We should start going against the grain with Greg Miller love you Greg but you know it's the truth
Damn Mike is the problem….
What did Mike do?
Buys all the mtx
The market is and he’s a real one for pointing it out.
Secret Level has been a big disappointment. The quality of the animation is good, but the stories and acting has been really bad. Only liked maybe two or three.
Im against this move but its funny how u guys have all the info infront of you and u keep throwing $20 in the air like you can’t get EVERY item individually u guys are treating it like theyre making u buy a pack of garbage like fortnite.
lol guys i saw you video about game monetization. You were much kinder to much more predatory games, i guess warzone, pokemon pocket, valorant and wwe games just build differently😉🤡
Greg Miller kinda sucks
These complaints are clowntown. Especially the idea of not being able to tell super credits from real money. Go back to your remedial math class if you can't crack this code.
It's only too much money if you don't like killzone enough and you don't actually play hd2.
Edit: it's even crazier to hear them say these prices are unreasonable when they're still shilling for Marvel Snap, a game jam packed with skins/packs costing $20 or more. And considering the type of game, it's much more of a pay to win situation because your deck likely needs certain specific cards to remain competitive.
Sony needs to make that Concord money back.
Man Greg should stop playing games he's turned into a grumpy old man. But then he'll bore you with starfield talk. Which is the most mid ugly looking game I've seen in a while. We should start going against the grain with Greg Miller love you Greg but you know it's the truth
It’s his thoughts and opinions bro relax lmao. Grumpy old man is a demographic too lol
