@@RapTapTap69 I actually had a video idea on this. Like, why is Leagues community so toxic? (and to a lesser extent, valorant?), and how can they solve it in the MMO. TLDR Riot have got to come out swinging.
@@ShambitsGaming its fairly simple actually, toxicity is a product of the environment of the game. A highly competitive PvP environment will breed toxicity, thats just how it works. In the case of MMORPGs there might be PvP toxicity, but even PvE can generate toxicity if theres too much frustration involved. See WoW vs FFXIV. Raiding is full of inconveniences that waste the players time and resources, theres also the fact that players are just pissed at Blizzard all the time = Players toxic Meanwhile, in FFXIV, raiding is highly optimized to not waste peoples time, wipe>spawn>repeat, players overall are also happy with SE = Players not toxic Now you can say that there will be a lot of toxic LoL players coming to the MMO and that might be true, but again, toxicity is a product of the environment, very few people are actually truly toxic, most of them will adapt to the environment of the MMO, Just like toxic WoW players adapted to FFXIV when they made the move.
@@nanopix5305 It looks like you've read my script already 😁 Basically. The Game design of league is why it's so toxic. I think it was John b Watson who came up with behavioral psychology and spoke about how harsh environments create harsh people. Basically league in a nut shell. The story was going to be about what game design pitfalls to avoid in order to keep the playerbase non toxic... But i'm not a game designer so it felt a bit like imposter syndrome writing it. A psychology degree from 10 years ago isn't enough in my mind 😁
The only problem is these games are just made by indie devs using riots name, which can be a problem due to their quality, the mage seeker is made by devs who made a roguelike that was known for having horrible combat, but it was fine because the main part of the game was that you were running a store and selling loot you found in the dungeon, it was find that the combat was bad because that wasnt the point of the game, but now combat is very much the point o fthe mageseeker, so its a big worry. Ruined kind was made by the battlechasers devs, a game known for its art style and its unique, albeit very slow and thus niche combat system, it did ok, but if you look up sales it hardly did better than some other popular indies around that time, and thats with riot marketing, the combat etc made the game simply too niche and unapproachable to most. Then theres hextech mayhem, which did very poorly, considering it had riot marketing and the name you could even say it did horribly, it had tons of issues, and while those got fixed by now it didnt really matter, and once again it was a very niche type of game that failed to even get noticed in that niche genre. Song of nunu is made by devs who barely have any games made, and all their games were met with mediocre response. Sure its too early to be talking shit on it, but the track record doesnt make it seem like its going to be great. And then theres convergence, again made by a very mediocre indie studio that has a decent art style, but gameplay is a question mark. Its good that riot is branching out making new big things, but them employing mediocre indie teams just make it seem like they wanna pump out as much meh products as possible, which is a shame because they should have the budget to be able to hire way more/better teams to make games worthy of the riot IP, i dont think its a good thing for riot to be pumping out shovelware, it dillutes the riot games name and might shy away more people from league etc than it will bring. Again the best game on here that got the best reviews, most sales, etc etc, was the ruined king game, and that was with tons of marketing by riot, and it was still outperformed by random indie games that same month, and the following ones, the other games did even worse, and it doesnt seem like the new ones are going to change anything. Mageseeker is being marketed the most atm, but from what we have seen and from what we know of the devs behind it, its hard to get excited, these arent high quality games made by riot, these are random indie games using riots IP for their characters and settings.
We just got this dev commentary on MageSeeker which is super interesting!

The MMO will be the finale to my journey of finding the perfect game.
